"Shove Off"

When your day seems long and your patience is short...
When everything seems wrong and you want to abort...
When listening to a new song that just makes you snort...
When you hear about King Kong and think it's a sport... Shove Off!

When life delivers a myriad of obstacles to hard to endure,
and your doctor recommends that you take a case of Ensure... Shove Off!

When 'getting up' for work is tougher than the work you're to do,
and looking in a mirror leaves you asking whose looking at you... Shove Off!

When you feel like a walk through cold pouring down rain,
sounds better than a soothing hot shower to ease your pain.... Shove Off!

When a friend or your partner or even your dear loving child,
asks a simple favor of you and you're tempted to go wild.... Shove Off!

There's a cruise ship docked somewhere prepared...
for a passenger like you, who of life is now scared...
You'll never know the relief of agony you'll be spared...
Until you board that ship with your sea nostrils flared...."Shove Off!"

BON VOYAGE!

About this poem:
I think taking a cruise would be a GRAND WAY to experience a bit of change from the mundane, day in, day out routine of life and all the hurdles that come with it!! Never been on one myself, but would sure enjoy the experience! Especially since I don't know the guy looking at me in the mirror anymore!! Anyone want to take me on a cruise with them? :-)

Tendons & Ligaments

Thoughts wrap
around life bones
like ligaments
keep the parts in
relation to the whole
supple for flexibility
like tendons
bands of fibrous tissue
connect muscle to bone
carry tensile forces
produce movement, fluid, propel.

Hierarchical structures
difficult to quantify
nonlinear, viscoelastic behavior
difficult to analyze.
Then come you
the fall, hard.
Stretched, twisted, bruised
soft-tissue damage, great
body fluids puddling
mixing with blood.

Breaks are clean
even compound ones
reset and repair
periosteum and
marrow cells
replicate and transform
cohesive strength
returns
good as new
memories not as strong.
Severe soft-tissue damage
where layer upon layer is torn
requires a much longer time
to heal.

***

How is it with injury
one forgets how to move
forward
left and right
down and up
making small adjustments
in the circles of life?

Though exercise is painful
immobilization is the enemy
of healing.
Baby steps, the current goal
moving unassisted in a
straight line, with little pain
no crutch to lean on
moving forward step by step
hoping
tomorrow
there will be dancing.

Still..

Though I'll never know
the joy of your
love
Though I pine away
my years in
lonliness
Though the hope
of you is but
an old mans
dream
And though the
tears I cried
are buried in
the vault of
eternity..
I will still
love you~

EVERY POET'S PLIGHT!

To be able to paint with words,
Or write, the speed of light,
To describe the beautiful birth of a star,
In the velvet sky, at night,
To give an honest account,
Of how an eagle soars gracefully in flight,
To know what really is,
The gift of second sight,
And…
To explain love and death but truly,
In a nutshell, every poets plight.

I love you/I’m sorry/ Please forgive me/Thank you

I once had a vision that I was a cork floating in the ocean, rudderless and lost, and cosmically alone,
Then you came into my life, and grounded me, and sweetened me, and wizened me, and comforted me, and took my loneliness away, and kissed my wounds better, and loved me…, and…, well, there’s no end…
For all these, I said to you,
I love you…

Then you hurt me, almost mortally,
Left me feeling naked and scorned,
Tired and destitute and old before my time,
And emptiness clothed me once again, like some dark, cavernous abyss, whose hunger is never satiated,
For that, I truly hated you…,
For that, I now say to you,
I’m sorry…

I exacted my revenge on you, though,
I betrayed you,
I scorned you,
I exhausted you,
I made you old before your time,
A sad, shameful and pyrrhic victory,
For this, I now say to you,
Please forgive me…

Now, you’re gone,
Forever…,
Now, my wounds are much, much better,
Now your aromatic incense can only visit my dreams,
Now, I realize what a wretched hypocrite I was, it was, after all, easy to love you when you were my raison d'être,
When you fed me honey,
But when, in your weakness, you unwittingly buried a scorpion’s sting into my very essence,
I retaliated, like a spoilt, unruly brat, actually more like a venomous viper,
And, I did of course, pay the dear price, oh, I paid…,
Now, I realize, you were my greatest teacher, my greatest love, my best friend, the sweetest melody a wretch like me has ever heard,
For that, and for innumerable other niceties, I want to truly thank you,
Thank you…

LOST

Lost, lost in a place that I thought I knew so well,
The fog has descended,
My footsteps muffled,
Not the vision I saw yesterday as clear as a bell.

The cure that worked before, no longer works,
Visions of yesterday,
Are broken dreams of today,
And in the dark shadows, the black dog lurks.

I may shake and cry, though hide my tears,
Think of other things,
Take one minute at a time,
The black dog just laughs and feeds on my fears.

When I’m not good, I fight this battle every day,
Praying for tomorrow,
Getting through today,
Wondering, how many times for yesterday, I have to pay.

See, the fears are so intangible,
Can’t grasp,
Can’t sort,
They’re there though, dark, invisible.

Then, one day I wake up free,
No worries or fears,
It’s a clear blue morning,
I smile, maybe have a coffee…
I laugh,
And….For a while again….I’m me!

About this poem:
It's not often I write something like this, but decided to as it is a subject close to my heart, not talked about, and often swept under the carpet.... Bi-polar disorder, is a very horrible thing, and is a lifelong battle, and you have to be strong enough, always, for the next round...Thankyou...Andrew...xxx

SWEET DREAMS

Rest my darling, close your eyes,
Trust to the darkness, and within it, the light,
There you will find all truth and no lies,
And many a thing to bring delight.
From that place, where a dreamweaver might dwell,
As high…As high as the roof of the sky,
Far above the Ocean’s deep swell,
Where only the Phoenix and Dragons might fly.
Somewhere between this world and that,
Between half awake and half asleep,
On a dragon’s back he’s sat,
Catching your dreams, safe to keep.
Saving them for when you get older,
For when you might have children of your own,
For when this world seems less friendly and colder,
dreamweaver will return, you'll not be alone.......

If I - - -

..**...*...*...*...**..

If I’m not an angel,
why would you call me angel?
If I’m not nice,
why would you love to be by my side?
If I’m not lovely,
how can I make you laugh and happy?
If I love rumors and lies,
how can I make you smiles?

..**...*...*...*...**.**...*...*...*...**..

If you’re a bad one,
why does my heart tell you’re a good person?
If you are fake,
why would I still like to walk with you on the lake?
If you’re such a fool,
how could you make my world so beautiful?
If you've got dirty on your mind,
how could your works are so fine?

..**...*...*...*...**.**...*...*...*...**..

If I judge from what I see,
that time you may leave me.
If I trust from what I hear,
that time you can disappear.
If I believe from what they say,
that time you don’t need to stay.
If I deem from what they show,
that time you can even go.

..**...*...*...*...**.**...*...*...*...**..

But if I'm still be me,
the one you used to know.
I judge I trust from my heart,
not that from my ego.
I believe I deem I define,
I see I hear from my mind.
So why would you fade away?
could you please tell me why?

..**...*...*...*...**.**...*...*...*...**..

If I give you my strength,
will you please be strong?
If I send you a melody,
will you sing me a song?
If I lend you a pen,
will you write me poetry?
If I share you my heart,
will you come back and get a new start?

..**...*...*...*...**..

Colors

---- IMAGE REMOVED because photobucket.com no longer allows embedded images ----
I would like to paint my dreams with all the colors I find in you
Because lately all of my own they have been darkened and so gloom
If I could be the man you deserve I would gift wrap the world for you
Then buy a golden spaceship and carve your face upon the moon
So if I should ever lose my way your light will guide me home
Where I could find some peace in knowing I am not alone
But I am just a simple man who lives his life for you
And nothing I have seen compares to everything you do
My landscape would be empty if I couldn't share the view
And I would never want to wake up so I could paint more dreams of you
