If one day this happens...

--*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*--
If one day this happens where you and I meet -

on the front porch of heaven's pearly gates, -

I'll ask of you only one simple eternal treat -

and that would be to kiss upon your cute face!

--*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*--

:-) :-) :-) ETERNALLY :-) :-) :-)

The big Questions & Some little Answers

..*..*..*..*..*..*..*..*..

Q:
If I can hold your gaze and tell you truly
That you mean more than all the world to me

A:
I would smile and reply you softly
that you mean all the universe to me
..*..*..*..*..*..*..*..*..

Q:
If you would think me brash - but not unduly
Would you accept this heart of mine for free?

A:
I would n’ver deny it finality
No matter how nervy that you would be
..*..*..*..*..*..*..*..*..

Q:
If I would love you like I love no other
And overcoming all impediment

A:
I would not look for anyone never
You would be the one my heart adores
..*..*..*..*..*..*..*..*..

Q:
If we could spend our lives with one another
Would you suppose your time with me well spent?

A:
I would give you all my time; moreover,
The rest of my breath would be for'ver yours.
..*..*..*..*..*..*..*..*..

SONNET OF A VALENTINE

As on one bended knee I kneel,
You've heard the words I've whispered in your ear,
The way you look at me, tells me how you feel,
I know you have understood, by a single joyous tear.
And then, just as our eyes meet,
I feel a slight hesitation in your hand,
I wonder if I can pull off this feat,
Wonder, just for a second, if you truly understand.
Then, as your touch, turns to a caress,
And your lips start to tremble,
I just know that you are saying yes,
Just as my confidence had began to crumble.
See finally, that you know, and will always see,
I will always love you for what you are, and all that you can be.

To Mary

I sleep with thee and wake with thee,
And yet thou art not there;
I fill my arms with thoughts of thee-
And press the common air.

Thy eyes are gazing upon mine
When thou art out of sight,
My lips are always touching thine
At morning, noon, and night.

I think and speak of other things
To kept my mind at rest,
But still to thee my memory clings
Like love in woman's breast.

I hide it from the world's wide eye
And think and speak contrary;
But soft the wind comes from the sky
And whispers tales of Mary.

AUNT KATHYS GARDEN

TO WALK AUNT KATHY'S GARDEN,
THERE'S NOTHING TO COMPARE,
THE LOVE AND ATTENTION,
IT SHOWS UP EVERYWHERE.

LARGE LILACS, LITTLE BLUEBELLS,
WAFT ON SCENTED BREEZE,
AS IF TO SAY, COME OVER HERE,
AND TAKE A LOOK AT ME.

HER PATIENT HANDS HAVE TENDED,
FLOWER BED, AND GARDEN POTS,
ABUNDANT FLOWERS WITHIN THEM,
SEEM TO SAY, SHE LOVES US LOTS.

ALWAYS IN THE GARDEN,
ON A FINE DAY SHE WILL BE,
TYING UP ROSE BUSHES,
TENDING FLOWERS ON BENDED KNEE.

SHE PATS THEM WITH AFFECTION,
AS SHE CALLS THERE NAME TO ME,
AND KNOWS WHEN EACH WILL BLOSSOM,
BE IT SHRUB, OR LILAC TREE.

I SOMETIMES COME TO HELP HER,
AMIDST THE SCENTED POT POURRI,
AND HER EYES THEY FILL WITH GLADNESS,
WHEN WITH HER FLOWERS, SHE GOES TO BE.

About this poem:
AUNT KATHY, 91 YEARS YOUNG, AND LOVES HER FLOWERS, TREATS THEM WITH THE TENDERNESS, OF A MOTHER WITH HER BABIES, AND LOVES THEM DEARLY, A DEAD FLOWER, CREASES HER FACE WITH PAIN, AS IF HAVING LOST A FRIEND, I LOVE HER DEARLY, BUT DON'T TELL HER I SAID THAT.

Feeling Our Way

At first communications,
May be a little rough.
Silly misunderstandings,
And other mundane stuff.

But we keep working at it,
And things just might work out.
I'll do my part, I promise,
Of that please have no doubt.

When time passes with no word,
We tend to worry so.
But then we find the reason,
It helps so much to know.

So please don't give up ever,
And neither so will I.
Each storm we two shall weather,
As long as we both try.

SEAMLESS

Like in a mirror,
We feel each other,
Asking nothing of one another.
When we look in each others eyes,
We're lost in something,
No words can describe.
Worlds, passing by in ignorant blissfulness,
There's just us,
No joins,
....Forever....
Seamless.

The Bittersweet Pill

Catch your breath
Open up and swallow air
The waves of the future
are fast approaching.
Kicking against the current
stretch arm over arm
swim, else drown
in the salt of tears,
the bittersweet pill of survival
clutched in our hands.

Laughter rings from within
conference-room walls
knowing the shoals
of year’s end closing
were safely navigated
sails slightly tattered
billowing in winter’s breeze.
Yet, frigid winds blow
outside our doors
waiting to ice spring plans.

Made instruments of our own demise,
then it will be the hemlock
that comes to our lips.

BAGWELLS GROVE

ONE EVENING WHILE STROLLING,
NEAR BAGWELLS GRAND HOUSE,
I ENTERED THE GROVE,
WHERE I AMBLED ABOUT,

SOME TREE'S THERE LOOKED ANCIENT,
AND SOME LOOKED QUIET RARE,
ALL IVY, AND BRIERS,
TOLD ME NO ONE NOW CARES.

I CAME TO AN OLD CHURCH,
WITH IVE CLAD WALLS,
AND I FELT RATHER SAD,
THAT THE WHOLE LOT MIGHT FALL.

YET IN HERE AMIDST,
ALL THE WEEDS, AND DECAY,
I COULD STILL SENSE THE GRANDEUR,
OF FAR DISTANT DAYS.

I COULD MAKE OUT THE PATHS,
WHERE THE GENTRY ONCE STROLLED,
WITH CLOTHES OF THE FINEST,
POCKET WATCHES OF GOLD.

BUT THE LIGHT IT GREW DIM,
A COLD DEW CHILLED THE AIR,
AND I SENSED GHOSTLY EYES,
WATCH ME WALK OUT OF THERE.

About this poem:
THE OLD BAGWELL ESTATE, IS SITUATED JUST OUTSIDE THE TOWN OF CLONMEL, COUNTY TIPPERARY, IN IRELAND. THE FAMILY WERE CROMWELLIAN SETTLERS IN IRELAND, AND WERE BANKERS, BY TRADE. THEY ARE LONG GONE NOW, BUT THE OLD ESTATE STILL RETAINS AN AURA, OF FADED ELIQUENCE, I STROLLED AROUND ITS OLD GARDEN WALK LATELY, TRACES OF ITS FORMER GRANDEUR, ARE STILL TO BE FOUND.

Burned Out

Looked in your eyes
window too your soul
candles burn
eternal flames glow
holding your hand
your heart and soul
loved you long ago
in my heart and soul
the candles burned out
long ago
