The Kingdom of Heaven

Embedded image from another site

Mother, as I last view your
pale and fragile frame
I envisioned the chariot
that will carry you to heaven...

It will be of silver and gold
steadily rumbling through a tunnel
at first dark with the end in sight
an unwavering beckoning beacon of light...

Soon you will be standing on a hill
with a new body
below you fertile land light and airy
beautiful colored clouds behold your palace!

A mansion with many rooms
towers high and proud
as it laps the sea
each wave blue as can be!

When you enter your palace mother
you're in a place free of sin
say hello to all our loved ones
as you enter the Kingdom of Heaven..

Stark Appreciation !

All you who are in the whole of your health,
Would you ever swap with me in remission ? No ?
You probably think it would shorten your life,
But neither would I swap with you,
For I know that remission has lengthened mine,
I briefly stared into the merciless eyes of the reaper,
Perhaps therein lies the difference.

Do you ever hear yourself breath ,
And savour every single breath ? I do !
I suspect you love Spring flowers....
But I know that I must adore them slightly more.
I wouldn't pluck one for I would see it as a death,
But I would smell them on bended knee,
and not complain about my damp stained pants........
I would only remember the scent !
I used hate the interruption of my alarm in the morn'
Now it is the sweetest sound.....
like a song-bird in full voice on a leafy branch,
pleading for a handful of crumbs.

It's almost eight years now since
my last passionate kiss.......shocked ??
Or you might ask........Why ??
It's because I remained true.....that's why !
We're divorcd a year now and that picture
of us on the wall ........is now just a nail........
Yes I am gulping as I write.......
I'm not too proud to cry,
It's sad, it's raw, it's true... it's gone !.....but hear this.........
"I have risen from those cold cinders",
My next kiss (should there be one) will be special.....
...because the way I feel right now...
I would nearly kiss a stone wall .

You can bid me respect if you wish.......
but please don't show me sympathy or pity,
I abhor those two words !......for these lines are not penned in complaint...
but in Appreciation of life......another chance....
I stride positively forward now..somewhat sorrowful...
but extremely determined !
Thank Heavens for remission !

Still Waters

Embedded image from another site

With a finger I traced the cities outline
As I watched the hand of God paint a colorful sky
Lost in translation my eyes filled with rain
I circled the sunrise and drank from its grace
Rainbows rolled down then dripped from my neck
into a puddling surmise of my affection
Soon I was afloat upon this river of deceit
When thy moon kissed my forehead then again on my cheek
And I asked God this question "Why do I exist"
He replied one simple answer "My son as a gift"
And what you do with this is your gift to Me
Let love be your guide and wisdom bring you peace
He then placed my hand on the still waters I tread
And caused it to ripple with my reflection
As the sky is My canvas and different each day
The currents will rise and cause you chaos in its wake
And there will be times that you hate Me and question My will
But its those times I'll say trust me and learn to be still

a new beginning

standing still
solid and strong
unencumbered
nor attached in the
wild encounters of the past
for they are untraceable
they wilted in the passing
of your youth and ambitions
it was you, the misunderstood
and the misguided

now a new you, built
just as you wanted
embracing the promises
of tomorrow
albeit a new design
of unchartered waters
and untested roads
but with your strength
and your indomitable hope
you will not give up
you wont back out

you will stand tall
facing this new beginning
with force of a bull
making it, even as you
will pawn your future
with me beside you
we wont fail
for at least 30 years
or more?

welcome to the new us..
we wont give up
no matter the challenge
we will advance
because that is who we are
one in love..

His Daughter (There is a God out there...)

Link to video:

Twenty three years ago
Inside a dark lit room I sat
On my knees I was, humbled
For I was lost, got nowhere to go
Left alone, someone else's child in tow

Called a fool by friends who knew
I wanted to keep you
I was lost and alone
So far away I was from home
And your father never knew

Nine months I then carried you
Days before you were born
Fifteen hours on the bus
Your half brother in tow
Bus stopped, home at last!

Mom, Dad against all hope continued
Hoping and hanging on to faith
Every dawning of each day believing
One daybreak soon the bus would stop
And their daughter will be back

Before I could step out of the bus
I looked towards the house and saw
Mother was running; dad not far behind
Arms wide open reaching out to hold
The daughter they often dreamed about

Into their arms I sanked and cried
They held me up, we headed home
I've always known their hearts is where I belong
Faith like theirs, kept me strong
All those dark nights I was alone!

I was taught to always reach out
To my Father God when unsure, burnt out
Their faith in Him so strong
It kept them praying so long
For their child to just come home!

So my son when you asked your mom
"Some said I'm an unwanted child, is it true?"
My darling child all I can tell you
From the day God planted you inside
My heart became your very heart

It was never about wanting you or not
It was just about you being sent from above
A precious gift I was honoured to receive
Against the world I chose to have you in my life
For I knew God sent me you, my flesh and blood

Now you're 23, look at what we've been through?
Years Laced with fun, and joy, tears and laughter too;
Life adventures and growing pains in between
You turned out to be this beautiful guy with a beautiful heart
Remember always, you've been a blessing to my life!

About this poem:
I heard the song and I could not help but be reminded of the time I had my son. His father left us, neither he or I knew I was pregnant. He also left to me another child he had with another woman. While my son was growing up, someone told him he's an unwanted child hence one day he came to ask me. With the help of my parents we brought them up, both my son and his half-brother turned out to be a couple of fine young men. There is a God out there to keep you strong when you've exhausted all options and you feel all alone or think you have nowhere else to go or no one to turn to!

Lines for Greta.

Last night the howling wind its torment bore,
upon the rugged Oak its anger tore,
and how the mighty thunder did shout aloud
its wrath to the heavy laden cloud,
whose burning light would not cease,
to remind the guilty there'll be no peace,
for the turmoil of the spume flung seas
had silenced the gentle southern breeze;
thus, from the dreary winter's rain,
the dreaded news o'er the ether came;
so the wise with futile brain
will life's understanding, its mystique claim,
for all their eloquent articulated words
just makes the parting more absurd,
that in ignorance, mock her loving flame,
for loves lies deeper than just a name,
So, the sweetness of the pure white rose
will the Surrey air a fragrance blow,
thy precious dust will perchance abound
a richer flora to the barren ground,
and transmute the sombre winter scene,
to paint forever the greyness evergreen,
and every songbird echoing Spring
shall rejoice in love that you did bring.
Though thy earthly candle no longer burn,
the spirit to me shall oft return,
in poignant memories recalled to dream,
that tread the paths where you have been.
So, stripped bare of all my conscious pride,
when like a child, I wept, I cried,
and cried and cried so many tears,
enough to fill the oceans' million years,
for all the years that were too soon,
this earth to lose a flowered bloom;
for long I've questioned and asked why
your haste to torch the vespers sky.
Alas! Life's course, powerless to re-arrange,
once destiny deems it will not change,
So, heart consoled- that, that was your eye,
now the fairest jewel in God's sky.
But oft in gloom and in desperation stare
at the emptiness, the lonely fireside chair,
and wish and wish again that I could hear
the cheerful pleasant 'Hello Dear',
but most of all with aching heart shall miss
the softness of that parental kiss.

Homestead re-visited.

How great thy vista to my eyes abound,
when late of time, I viewed mt Southland down,
fond childhood memories bid mt heart re-call,
times, when all the trees seemed so tall,
but now, the burning coals of fading day
ignite twilight moments where magic colours play,
and yon not forgotten village lies
harmoniously beneath its genial skies,
its people's thatch and heavens spire,
are gently washed with sunset's living fire,
whilst graveyards' cherished ancient Yew
reach down to kiss the coloured painted dew,
and evening primrose within its shade
with contrasting hues here displayed;
and all that sleep in hedgerows wild
live freely, like as the spirit of a child
whose innocence breathes the air of play
of rapturous joy like this ebbing edge of day,
to await morning's green-mantled care,
as day dissolves in all its wondrous flare,
such artistry each captured rainbow bring
the blushing tints of sweet remembering,
as woolen clouds, their floating charms interlace
the chasing sun, warmth of time, everlasting grace,
So, when the breath of life's no more,
my spirit shall stay by the waters of the Stor.

About this poem:
I no doubt like many others, left my very small and humble Hamlet at a very early, now unheard of age, to seek opportunities not available in our Homestead, so this poem captures a nostalgic return in later years.

Driving in my thoughts

In front of the stearing weal,
I am driving alone,driving slow at night time;
moonlight shining on deserted Melbourne road
with few cars passing by,
and in the world of thoughts,
I am taking different road,
different dream,different life...
Looking at the door that has never been opened
and makes me wonder;
"What it could be and what would be
if I could ever open that door?"
In kissing apstraction
I opened door of our past that never happaned,
I sow our children playing and laughing with us
in garden of roses.
He's words makes Eho's in my spirit
'What an wonderful life we could have if we met in our youth'
I am driving in my thoughts,
on the road of life or world of dream,
I'am smiling to myself,
thinking of him...
Smiling at Apstract dream of unknown past,
joining roots in present time to met future time,
constracted from present dream,desires,longing,
all met together in one...
Dream of desired thee,
dream of us,
pointing towards our present pulse's beat,
thy breath to life we give to each other,
filling silent distance with creative apstractions
that gloom of earth's possibilities...
Walking to the door that is open to us,
To greet thee,
Looking at the stars we met
miles apart

Just One Slowburn Kiss.

Wandering lost, devoid love's fragrant scent,
My need for you so bad, you'd ne'er believe,
Cruel East wind bites my skin, without relent,
Dreams of you bring warmth, my pain relieve.

Nought I wouldn't give to hold you close,
And share with you this feeling bursting through,
To celebrate life's gems, I love the most,
Abundant Nature's flowers & birds.....and you !

The lyrics of my song deliberately plain,
Played from raw heart strings, no fancy script,
I prayed love soon to sate our yearning twain,
This heart for you, so 'oft a beat has skipped.

One slowburn kiss ! My eyes in yours to stray,
To trade my soul, such price I'd gladly pay !

dividing spoils

i always remember
these people
fleeing across
concrete armored posts
all roads in
were fortified
invading soldiers
take to
the streets

sticks in
pointing guns
at women and children
the mind
still bugs me
faces of pain
down trodden
counting back years
plight of generations
sorrowful mysteries

becoming refugees
in their own
war torn country
where they
themselves were born
grew up
then had children

sounds so sad
heartbreaking countries
without voices
a world sat back
nodding their heads
silently said nothing
shame allowing this
in a just world
many years later
has it been forgotten
our soldiers
that died
in a struggle

we all
take a side
in war
ireland still
remains divided
one of her
four seats
dating back
to the pyrmaids
partially taken
strangely why is that
we are one
big teddy bear

a question
i ask myself
over and over again
invading someone's space
surely one tyrant
taking land
by force
is it not
a crime anymore
in anyone's books

i myself
call it stealing
whats not
rightfully theirs
in the first place
does the bible
not quote
thou shalt not steal
christian virtues
as they use it
in courts

justice a joke
a coin
with two heads
makes the
whole system
corrupt into
the very core
