Judith......,,

Our hearts are heavy
Tears are cast
Too young too soon
Way too fast
You graced yourself
With a quiet demure
A cheeky smile
And eyes that lure
There lay a confidence
Deep within
It was your strength
Right till the end
Foreign shores
A different life
An intense man
A loving wife
How you changed
Point of view
Through commitment
To beliefs you knew
We watched you grow
And bloom within
A wrong diagnosis
A cardinal sin
Now you share
An angel’s space
You’ll never be forgotten
Your life our grace .........

—-“Lands of the forsaken “—-

Lands of the forsaken
two world’s two destinies both falling apart, one desires another each desires there own, one living inside a flaming fire one living in a watery ocean one climbing one descending each of the same mission the same vision but seperate still propelling towards another dimension, fire above water loving in serenity and ending in eternity, deciding developing exploring forever to be instantaneous interactions looking for ways to connect to the divinity of ones own allowing death purposefully creating disconnection within all, wars hatred and enemies for both peace for none run run run falling into traps of consumption of all to be wasting time looking for a solution still without wondering or devising alternative ways of speaking alternate ways to live liberation from patience, waiting waiting waiting an end to this race on turn with this place errors to face riddles to solve and memories to forget unknown in creation ending in termination to be still. love and peace both rise to reach to find ease to bring in the end the end of what though life history memories existence or desire destruction disorder or are we creating a new world order?

Wild flowers

What a beautiful spring day,
I just had to go out and play I stumbled upon a field of wild flowers.
Flowers bring much delight to me.No two flowers are alike
So many scents coming my way, they tickle and make my nose twitch all day
What a beautiful day I could stand in this field forever and a day
Their colors so brite I wonder if you can see them at night ?
The different shades of pink, purple and blue make me feel new
By the end of the day I wound up with a beautiful bouquet !
Those beautiful flowers made my day!

A Poem For My Fellow Poets

Can you see us bent over kitchen tables
And our pencil's warm erasers
As we pour our hearts into liquid words upon the lowly page?
Can you see us stopped in parking lots;
Searching for scraps among the floorboards,
Then, with pen to note, we scratch a word to show a life, a love, and age?

We who fight with nature
Never searching, always believing,
We strive against cold, heat and drought to keep the wolves from the door...
But the battle seems wan in comparison
To the war with words we wage,
As we seek to convey a thought, a poem to live and last forevermore.

Why, we were fine and fancy...
No cares beyond the gate
Our only worries keeping calves alive and shipping them eight months later.
Until we tasted immortality
On this life's stage or 'round a campfire
And you, who come to read our words, became the instigator

So we take it all in and write it down
In between the endless chores
Amazed and honored that there are people who read and listen and seem to care
We try to make you laugh and cry
In portraying all we really savvy
And somehow make it all of value and something worthy to share.

Most give little thoughts to such an act
This trying to capture in ink a sunset
When an artist or a photographer can hardly succeed at such a task
Without film or paint or music
Armed with only our imaginations
We connect the dots and record our lives
Our future and our past.

Thus we dance with you as partners
In this waltz of verse and lingo
As long as you continue to listen, we'll try to get it right
With words that bind us close together
Transcending time and borders,
For we are the poets
And you are the reason we write.

Waiting for Andromeda

In 2 billion years the Milky Way
will digest the Large Magellanic Cloud
a dance of two galaxies
who had the time to wait.

I don't spend much time looking at the sky
but last night it was lit up like a canvas of light
with all the constellations just so.

In 4.5 billion years we get punched by Andromeda
its unknown how it will go apart from some
black holes that might get bigger

Earth might get shuffled around
but by then the sun will be a Red Giant
and we all get charcoalled anyway

Frozen

I saw this movie
Its name was Frozen
It really scared me you see
It is about the job I work
The worst thing you could do
Is leave someone up on the chairlift after you close
I think that it is a slacker job
Unless you work at the bottom
Those guys really earn their pay
I sit at the top and eat junk food all day
We get free pop, free cocoa too
I make 8.25 an hour
7.20 an hour after taxes
I spend 9 bucks in gas to get there
70 miles of driving that takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes
This is the best part of this job
I love to listen to music
Lady Gaga, 80's music, Black Eyed Peas
Did you see them on the SuperBowl?
So if you want to see a good movie to scare you good
See Frozen
Then go skiing right afterward!

A Smile

It can come very easy to smile when all is well
But harder to do and more thoughtful, when one has a sad tale they could tell.

To share yours with another, no matter, what is what.
Can brighten up their day and to them mean such a lot
To the stranger that passes who may be bereft, live alone.
To the one who may be feeling lonely, forgotten or burdened but doesn’t want to speak, to share or to moan.

A little smile that says hello
Can warm anothers heart, speak volumes in the silence
Say I care, and mean more to them than you may ever know.

What better time can there be but now to show we care..and a little smile can be how

Go Bears!

I saw them play in the Super Bowl 35 years ago in 1986
They even had a song "The Superbowl Shuffle"
The Bears were a lot of fun that year
The Fridge
Jim McMahon
Walter Payton
And their head coach Mike Ditka
The only team they lost to in 1985 was the Dolphins
So they play against the New Orleans Saints at 3:40 PM on Sunday
If I get lucky, they will eventually play the Green Bay Packers
Like they did in 2011
And the Packers will win
But if the Bears win
I'll root for them in Super Bowl LV (55)

About this poem:
I watched the game last week and it didn't matter at all who won that game. The Bears still made the playoffs and the Packers still have home field advantage throughout the playoffs.

IS THE WORLD STILL OUT THERE?

Embedded image from another site

Deep within the realm of my home
Tucked away concentrating on my own
Thinking wishful thoughts of want to be
Dreaming thoughts of things want to see

Warm breezes – blue sky – golden sunshine
Flowers blooming – birds singing – clothes on the line
Tucked into a room pretending what is outside
No catastrophes – troubles or problems – not in my mind

Curtains closed – not a sound coming through
Easily dreaming of a beautiful day in bloom
Suddenly so quiet – waking from my stare
Peering to see “Is the World Still Out There”?

About this poem:
Update 4/2020: I wrote this a year ago February not knowing what was going to happen in the world in the last few months. Eerily it makes one feel right now with COVID-19 "Is the World Still Out There?" being so isolated. Feb. 2019: Sometimes I get daydreaming a beautiful dream and block out the world. Finally when I return to reality - it will be so quiet that I have to look outside to see if the world is still there.

Candle in the Window

Strike the match

As the sea carries horizontal rain
pelt'd beside me on the window frame
All the feet I've seen en-toe'd in the sand
each wave's taken out past part of time

Candle'd flame
chair's under me
crossed knee's fingered smoke
lookin out to a world the drops of rain covered wet
I shake out the flame wooden match it held to

Whistled kettle in the kitchen
tea for two
splat'n rain on the window
from one candle two flames
some black tea an me....~
