Rescue

Cigarettes, porcelain cups
Your coffee always filled with ashes
Like the sorrow in our childrens hearts
If we don't rectify their trembling
Your mind will never rest at ease
Nor your future hold success
If we don't learn from our mistakes
Doomed to repeat them
Over and over again

We need a rescue
We need a rescue

We all walk along this road
One foot after the other
The prints of our feet
Slowly fade away with time
Leaving a legacy for our babies
A legacy of right or wrong
We choose to set our eyes on the rising sun
Or let the day slip on it's night

We need a rescue
We need a rescue

star

on a summer night i saw a star above my sail, love can be the sunshine or a storm of hail, when then the clouds came and spread their veil, i knew i should just drink and stay in hell.

I'm thinking of you

Maybe I've found someone,
Hope she knows who she is,
just because we are miles apart,
she's so different to all the rest,
silly little emails,
that warm the coldest days,
you'll know I'm thinking of you??
If you read this on my page

Think you could feel so special,
If you took 1 chance on me,
Gave you more than anyone else,
just to make sure you know,
FEEL your love around me,
Deep down I know you care
Maybe I've just found someone,
Just wish I could be there

I'm always thinking of you,
Check your profile everyday,
First time I ever saw you ,
Sent a funny email just to say,
Will you let it happen ?
Will you share your light
Will you let me love you
Each and every night

It's not a flight of fancy,
But I don't want to say your name
Maybe your thinking who's Nancy,
But I'm far too polite to say,
Can feel that we have got issues
That we both need to address
Think we could be so special
A little love and tenderness

I'll kiss you and love you forever,
For all the above in return
I'll kiss you goodbye and I'll miss you
Just wanna make two hearts as one
guess you'll know when you read this,
hope that you're feeling it too,
Just one last thing my darling
Could be sharing my life with you

If ever you feel what I'm thinking,
Deep down you know that its you,
You wont need to ask ,hear bells ringing
Gave you the way to talk things through,
Don't want to scare you off, want to be your guy,
wanna hold you in my arms so much,
All I ask is the rest of your life
And the gentle feel of your touch,

if I said that you have had flowers
JG you know that its true,
just want to make you feel special,
in the way you make me feel,
I can't promise forever
You know that's gotta take two,
Just want you to know that I miss you
And that I'm thinking of you

Feather of Ma'at

Fear not the mirror
or drape it in rosy veils;

truth shines,
needs no feminine wiles
or masculine approval
for it to be so.

Pass by pale prisons
and if you stumble on
the rubble of your heart;

fall on knees of charity,
to rise in innocence.

To Live

Holding back I can see
the life I wish I could live.
The hopes and dreams
Like images on TV

A cold drink of water,
A walk in the park.
The smell of roses,
on a cold winter day.

Today I step out side to see,
exactly what others our seeing.
Not to be a watcher any more,
but pertisapte in what going on around me.

Tomorrow on TV
It will be my life you see
Not to be a bystander,
To Live is what I will be.

Children of the Not Very Merry

Christmas comes on jingle-bell feet
tinkling all over my morning paper;
but middle-class wolves howl
at my door, lurking and raping my mood.

In a outraged of head-shake denial
and of wondering;
why do I have to think of that now?

When, I've got to get to Big Lots
finish all my x-mas shopping
and arrange a babysitter
for the party tonight.

When, I've got cabin fever
and a howl rising in me!

When, I want to be pretty arm candy
and hold mistletoe kissing contests,
don't burn me now Santa.

The list goes on and on....

until I finally realize;
I need to be more grateful
for my haves, instead of pissed off
about what I haven't got.

If greed is need, then I'm
in pretty sorry shape no
matter the seasons reasons.

Rock-a-by, child of God, rock-a-by.

Do you care?

Aspirations

To breath deeply.
To walk with purpose.
To laugh till it hurts.
To cry freely.
To think pragmaticaly.
To love unconditionaly.
To break bread with a friend.
To have a genuine smile.
To keep an open mind.
To teach with wisdom and experience.
To assess and not judge.
To share my joy.
To give 110%.
To receive with humility.
To let my spirit soar.
To be still and hear.
To speak softly.
To listen attentively.
To not believe any lies.
To use my hands to work and carres.
To use my arms to hug.
To have lips of invitation.
To see your soul.
To act carefully.
To trust with wisdom.
To show kindness to all.
To respect or walk away.
To empathize not criticise.
To mix compassion with works.
To make my vanity shrink.
Never to raise a hand in anger.
To have a greatful heart.
To keep my ego humble.
To be selfless.
To be a breath of fresh air.
To validate feelings.
To create and not destroy.
To be tolerant.
To Live to Love
And Love to Live
Is your bucket full today?
I aspire to keep mine full.

About this poem:
For decades I couldn't tell you what I wanted. I could make a list as long as Reppunzel hair, but I couldn't you what I wanted. After % decades of contemplating this puzzel I have come to a place of self-evaluation without being biased. This poem is about me and what I'm working on--self-emprovement is another way of saying evoled. Whatever term you want to use is your choice. This poem represents the choices I've made in my life and because of it I not only love myself but like how I've turned out. Don't get me wrong. I'm a far cry from being narsesistic. It's just an oservation coupled with life experience and the wisdom I've gathered up over 5 decades.

NEVER SAY I LOVE U

Never say I love you,
If it isn't really there,
Never talk bout feelings,
If you really don't care.

Never hold my hand,
If you're gonna break my heart,
Never say you're gonna,
If you dont plan to start.

Never look into my eyes,
If all you do is lie,
Never say hello,
If you realy mean goodbye.

If you realy mean forever,
Then please say you'll try,
Never say forever,
'Cause forever makes me cry.

And for your last sentence, how about this (nice idea though):

Don't say you love me
Unless you really mean it.
I might just do crazy things
Like actually believing it..

A Note from Santa

Just a note from Santa,
I don't want to complain
But you've blocked off all the chimneys,
That really is a pain.

There was no key under the mat
Like anybody else.
How do you expect a man
To get into your house?

I've got a stack of presents,
These I have to say
According to health and safety
Are heavy by the way.

I know I shouldn't be grumpy
But my back is killing me.
I've just climbed in the window
Because I had no key.

No mince pie and cream,
The normal little treat.
I get more consideration
From others in your street

A glass of wine or punch
Would go down very good
So just think on next year
If you really could.

There's one more little niggle,
You may not think I know,
But you need to keep your eyes closed
When I'm on the go

Ti s serf ice to say
That you surely shouldn't be peeking
When I drop your presents,
This is sort of cheating.

Ill let you off this year
Yet I've marked it in my book
So when I come here next time
You really must not look.

Don't forget the key,
The mince pie and the sherry
Then I can say with honesty
I wish your Christmas merry.

P.S

You should know I've rung my lawyers
Now, according to our laws
You'll be getting a new contract
And its got a Santa Clause.

Read it very carefully
Is all I have to say.
If you want your presents
Next Christmas Day.

It's down to you in what you do
So try and please me,
Or next year there'll be an empty space
Beneath the Christmas Tree.

Santa

Late for work

Got up late, I must get to work
The boss will be waiting and going berserk
Only 30 minutes to get there on time
A 20 minute drive so i'm cutting it fine
A quick cup of coffee, so tasty and pleasing
I jump in the shower, the water is freezing
No time for breakfast, not even a bite
Need to iron my shirt, should have done it last night
Get dressed and I leave and jump in the car
Shouldn’t take long as it’s not very far
The traffic is light and surprisingly clear
In only 10 minutes and I’m already here
But the building is locked then I hear a shout
It’s the security guard who’s lurking about
“you should go home and relax for a while”
“they’re not open on Sunday’s” he says with a smile.
