Alone in New Year's Eve (2009-2010)

Am alone, on a warm New Year's Eve.
Happy.
The adventures of "Odyssey" inspires me to
travel far.
A glass of water to wet my dry salty lips.
Dreaming of blue-skies, clear skies
and a red sea.
My Red Sea holiday was planned, but couldn't go.

So am I alone.
Happy.
As I pour red-wine, I smell Tuscany, rich-aroma
of grapes.
"Sting" music echoes from my CD-player, warming
my waxy ears.

Am I alone.
Happy.
Brownish cheese, a cracker, softly, I munch, lost, ataring.
Happy.
As Love burns, my heart is singing, filling my loins with fire.
I fell happy, on New year's Eve.
Bright roundish moon is smiling,like
a torch
on my face.

I drink the last wine-drops, I head, slowly to bed.
Am alone.
Happy.

About this poem:
In my poem, I wanted to show, that staying alone, on New Year's Eve, a special occasion, was my treat...good.
My feelings are that, even, alone, one can be happy, all I did, was read a good book, "The Odyssey', a bottle of wine, cheese & "proscuitto crodo" ...& listen to music.
The moon was bright, reflecting light in the garden, as i was sitting in the dining-room.
Love is good, a tonic, keeps me living..to carry on..& share my happiness with all....

"I THANK HIM"

I thank the Lord every day
When I open my eyes
I know He is responsible
For the land and sea and skies

I thank Him for another day
To be lived here on earth
I thank Him for allowing me
To live well past my birth

I thank Him for the open fields
And meadows filled with flowers
I know it's all His doing
For He has the ultimate power

I thank Him for the beauty
That surrounds me every day
For I know if He wanted to
He could take it all away

I thank Him for a star filled sky
With a harvest moon so bright
For I know He's the only one
Who could have gotten it all so right

But most of all I thank Him
For all life has given me
For I know deep in my heart
Without Him I wouldn't be.

Love, Lies and Promises

You’ve said a part of you still loves me,
so pray tell, which part would that be?
When I said I was in love with you
it was at that moment, you had all of me.

The essence of the love we once shared
your words whispered softly, fed my desires,
a bond that I thought could never be broken
has once more been shattered, by a devious liar.

I thought you knew me better than that
but here we are dealing with it yet again,
I see now, you have never really known me
if you believe what put us in this situation.

Your words once seemed so genuine
I believed them all each time you spoke,
I gave in to all your promises again and again
my love for you was blind to the pattern of revoke.

As much as it hurts I think I’ll always love you
similar to the morning dew or roses in the spring,
our love never had a chance to fully blossom
you believed the deceiver who stole our every dream.

The tear blemishes that are seen on my pillow
remind me of the love we once exchanged,
our hearts deeply intertwined in soulful moments
appear only as memories on a pillow now stained.

About this poem:
This is about a year long relationship that has been on and off again due to a drama seeking sister who wanted her brother all to herself. He chose to believe her, knowing she was an habitual liar and drama queen, over someone (Me), whom he claimed he would love forever and never hurt or leave.

In The Silence of Love

Silent love falls upon my pillow
as the countless teardrops flow,
the aloneness spent in silence
is revealed, by me alone.

The blindness of a lover’s heart
tears relentlessly at the soul,
while the thoughts of what use to be,
is all that keeps me whole.

Silence is the only barrier
beyond this day and tomorrow,
bound by love it keeps the heart,
a prisoner in it’s sorrow.

Words of love left unspoken,
and buried without a sound,
leaves doubt of which once was shared,
now forever, lost and bound.

Time, as it stands only erodes,
at the treasures of the heart,
and the deafening silence in it’s depth,
continues to tear it apart.

While jagged pieces of the heart
rend bitter sweet memories,
as it surrenders to the pain,
of loves silent guarantee.

"The American Dream”

"For some it was “A dream within a dream.”

Imagine if those mute stars could speak!
I wonder what wisdom they could teach.
The mystery of Imagination’s powers,
leaves one pondering for hours.
Trapped like words written on a page
or humbled like a beast in a cage.

Sometimes cast in the darkness of closed eyes,
a dream is the vision which guides you on a dark night.
But a sleepless dream lives in the warmth of day light.
Where the soul; a stagnant tide,
has compassion; its virgin bride.
Whose woes are the greatest legion
buried in the depths of the darkest region.

The “American Dream” was once considered treason.
Condemning men who were driven by humanitarian reason.
Dictated by a nation of self righteous critics.
We once kneeled to the British.
Who was ruled by a self proclaimed “Virgin Queen”
Whose ambition pursued celibacy,
to drown her acts of heresy.

The declaration of independence was a pledge,
signed by men standing on the edge.
The “American Dream” floats on the flood of patriotic blood.
The chains of slavery were broken,
As the fight for freedom was the only language spoken.
They rid themselves of a blood thirsty monarchy
and gave birth to a native democracy.

new year poem

the new year has started
what is awaiting us is it
doom and gloom or is it good news

what has it instore for us
or is it all the same news
only time will tell what
what kind of news.

the new year has started
ever so fast will it fly by
as fast or will it take its
time for us to catch up

will it keep on a normal pace
or will it go to slow for us
only time will tell as the
new year has only began

My Last Party

I was invited to a party tonight,
Me and a friend,
We decided to go out,
Unconcerned out the night would end.

There was a lot of drinking,
The smoke was burning my eyes,
My friend yelled over the music,
Going with some friends later and good-bye.

I sit doen in the corner,
I heard the person next to me say,
Here try this it's great,
While handing a needle my way.

I got up and walked away,
Then walked through another door,
There I seen a young girl,
Lying lifeless on the floor.

She had a needle in her arm,
And the look on her face,
Stuck in my head like a picture,
I had to get out of that place.

I ran to the phone,
I looked up to see,
Someone had a gun,
Pointing right at me.

I ran toward the front door,
Then i heard a sound,
The gun was going off,
Somone had been shot down.

I was afraid to look back,
I just wanted to run,
This was suppose to be a night,
Of relaxation and fun.

When I thought it couldn't get worse,
Then i heard the siren sound,
So I started to run toward it,
That is where i found.

A car had struck a pole,
One girl and two guys,
I fell to my knees,
And looked up toward the sky.

I cried out loud,
Lord don't let it be,
My best friend,
Who came here with me.

I open my eyes to see,
Three bodies lying on the ground,
As I walked closer,
I didn't hear a sound.

A policeman walked up to me,
He said can I help you dear,
I look at him with tearful eyes,
One of these could be my best frind that was killed here.

I told him I wanted to see,
The body of the young girl,
He said right this way,
That's when my stomach started to twirl.

He knelt down next to the body,
He started to uncover her head,
I looked down at the young girl,
I screamed Oh God my best friend's dead.

I felt like it should've been me,
That should've been dead,
I look down once again,
As he couvered her head.

That night i vowed,
To never attend a party again,
That night I lost my sister,
And my best friend.

God Have Mercy

People today,
Are hard to understand,
You can't even tell,
Whose a woman or a man.

The women you see,
Standing on the street,
Will do anything for a pill,
They're like dogs, toss them a treat.

They scrap and they hustle,
Fo that one pill,
They get so bad,
They're starting to steal.

Some have children,
That's left all alone,
Wanting their parents,
To just come home.

It really bothers me,
And makes me so sick,
At this lifestyle,
These people pick.

I will try and be good to them,
Do what I can,
To be there when I'm needed,
To lend a helping hand.

So until they get ready,
To take another road,
All I can say is,
God have mercy on their soul.
