All My Life

It was not so long ago
when I thought I'd never meet someone like you.
Wrong was I, thinking I'm in control
Believing I'd never fall.

All my life I thought no one would
melt a heart like mine, a heart so cold,
a heart hardened by the past,
protected by shields so vast.

Slowly I was falling
without even knowing.
Only to find out too late
I have no choice but to accept my fate.

I could dream, I suppose
forever, I could hope
there will never be any 'us', that's our destiny
so I wake up to reality.

I lied when I said
I didn't love you,
that my feelings for you
are through.

I lied
not because I wanted to
but because I love you
and I still do.

I wouldn't do a thing to hurt you
but I just have to let go.
I can't hold on much longer
'coz for us there's no forever.

Follow Me

Take my hand and follow me
to that place I long to be.
Take my hand and trust my way,
in that place forever stay.
Follow me toward the sand;
we'll run and play, hand in hand.
Take my heart and hold it true;
forever I'll stay close to you.
Seize my words and listen well,
then forever I will tell.
Release your heart and feelings too,
just as I will do for you.
Trust your heart and follow me,
to that place we long to be.

The Music Of Poetry

The Music Of Poetry

Amid life’s social melodies
from criterion deep and high
beat internal rhythmic memories
of breath’s first living sigh.

Within youth’s mental progress
lie stagnant childhood needs
in an age unwilling to confess
that the child inside bleeds.

And so a life’s beliefs converge
with those of its favoured peers
until an adult clone can emerge
to hide naïve young fears.

The secret act is blindly done
bias turns to something more
until bigotry has deftly won
leaving thought no options to explore.

Musical tastes are not immune
yet, within classical themes lie
a favourite hard rock tune
that opens a memory’s eye.

Still the soul cannot sing
until the child inside can portray
that thoughts in depth to poetry cling
and in the music a free child can play!

spectator

there is a loneliness,
like being a spectator in your own life.
when you have it all,
but know something is not right.

the job, the house, the kids,
and the beautiful wife.
and you feel the joy of your children
but somehow you are always an outsider

too late we sometimes realize
the situation was by design
not myself and me being my own worst enemy
not as i thought, did my own heart betray me.

friends close, enemies closer they tell me.
i would have never guessed,
just how close my worst one was to me.
not my own heart, but the one closest to it

those lonely gray days have gone
the knowledge that i have a wonderful life that is somehow not mine
no matter how much strength i grasp it with
gone.

and yet
i am alone, and somehow so much less lonely
the life i have does belong to me.
i no longer watch my life with sadness

MY LOVE WAS LOST

My love was lost
So very long ago
Never to be found
Where ever I go
I follow his footsteps
From mountain to sea
A myth do I trace?
I can never be free
He promised my soul
That he home he would come
The army he said
Needs me my love
He fought for his country
He fought for his land
He fought for my love
He fought for my hand
My father brought others
But none have his eyes
His smile so long gone
They speak only lies
I waited for him
Four score years
But he never came back to me
I face my biggest fears
I will find him one day
However far I must go
My love was lost
So very long ago

A love long waited for

Could it be real or is this just a dream baby
let me continue to slumber ,for if it to be
keep me in between the mist of reality and fantasy
a love long waited for dwells deep in me
kiss my lips , taste my bitter sweet love for you
look into my eyes make love to me, yes love do
ectasy flows through me , waves of emotions over come me
yes your a love long waited for, stirring emotions in me

SEARCHING FOR HIM.

WHERE IS THIS LOVE? I KNOW THAT HE EXIST BUT I CAN'T FIND HIM.
IS HE LIVING ON A BEACH DOWN SOUTH? OR MAYBE ON LONG ISLAND?
CAN I FIND HIM IN A CORN FIELD, OR A FARM IN THE MID WEST?
IS HE FREEZING IN ALASKA? WILL HE BE THE VERY BEST?
DOES HE SMOKE A PACK OR TWO A DAY OR DRINK WHISKEY OR BEER,
IS HE SHORT OR TALL FAT OR BALD, WHO CARES? I WANT HIM NEAR.
DOES HE CARE ABOUT MY OUTLOOK? WILL HE LIKE ME AS I AM?
I KNOW I HAVE TO FIND HIM, TIME IS TICKING, WHAT A JAM!
IS HE LIVING IN OHIO GAZING AT THE MOON AND STARS?
ARE HIS EYES AS BLUE AS DIAMONDS? CAN HE PLAY A MEAN GUITAR?
IS HE SWEET JUST LIKE I WANT HIM? WILL HE SING TO ME AT TIMES?
DOES HE LIKE TO READ, FOLLOW OR LEAD? WRITE POETRY AND RHYMES?
THE MORE I THINK ABOUT IT, THE LESS I WANT WAIT,
I GUESS ITS ALL PLANNED OUT FOR ME, THIS LITTLE THING CALLED FATE.
I KNOW THAT HE IS OUT THERE,DRIVING TRUCKS OR TRIMMING TREES.
ONE QUESTION THOUGH, I NEED TO KNOW, DOES MY LOVE LOOK FOR ME?

online lovers

I FELL IN LOVE WITH HIM HOW COULD THIS BE?

THREW A COMPUTER? THAT'S NOT FOR ME.

SOME STRANGER LIVING FAR FROM HERE

HOW WILL I KISS HIS LIPS I FEAR.

OR HOLD HIS HAND, PLEASE UNDERSTAND

THIS ODD ENCOUNTER WAS NOT MY PLAN.

CAN'T GO ON DATES OR FEEL HIS HAIR,

WE CAN'T MAKE LOVE IT'S JUST NOT FAIR.

BUT OH HOW I ENJOY OUR TIME,

WHEN HE CALLS ME MY LIFE IS FINE.

HIS LAUGHTER SOOTHES AWAY MY PAIN,

THIS ONLINE LOVE DRIVES ME INSANE.

I LEARNED TO FEEL FOR HIM THAT WAY

AND REALIZED LOVE COMES NIGHT OR DAY,

THREW PICTURES OR ENDLESS CALLS

LOVE CAN BREAK THREW THE TOUGHEST WALLS,

WITH GOOD LUCK THOUGH HE WILL BE WAITING,

JUST CHANGED MY MIND ABOUT ON LINE DATING.

IT GOES TO SHOW,YOU NEVER KNOW

WHICH WAY THE WINDS OF LOVE WILL BLOW.

Winter Come

Flocks on Winter wing have flown
to skies where Summer's sun was blown.
In voices high their prises sing
of joys the southern breezes bring.

Withered sails on sky blue seas
catch the wind and leave the trees.
In Autmn's maelstrom churn and sift
till weighing anchor in the rift.

Frost on aster's rusting bloom
in crystal scripture foretells gloom.
From frozen blight the petals fend
that only April may amend.

Furry friends in frantic flury
from tree to shrub do scuttle and scurry.
With bulging cheeks to hollows run
for sleep is nigh as Winter come.
