Square Circles

Cornerless cubes descend perfect transitions...
Landing in perfect positions...
Geometrical-shapeshifter sick tragic visions...
In flawless conditions...

Rigid-bodied dynamics succeed...
Tipless triangles, lines in between...
Square circles...
Round rectangles...
Nothing is ever quite what it seems....

Into Forever (Shadows Challenge)

Embedded image from another site

Will you walk with me into forever
Holding my hands without time
We'll ride Halley's comet to the dark side of the moon
where you don't need air to feel alive

We can fly without wings over the Earth
Showering the planets with joy
Skipping from one star to the next
Until we reach the one I remembered as a young boy

It was the first one I saw when I was a child
The one shining so bright in the sky
And I made a wish as simple as this
I wished that I would be here with you in Heaven tonight

Will you come join me at the table
Of the universe sipping silver moon light
There is a trap door in the sun a quiet place just for us
Where our passion ignites fires to bring worlds to life

THE DRAGONFLY

Tired from my climb out of the water
I crawled onto a lily pad
Trying to balance with a little totter
Feeling more than slightly sad

I had left all my friends at the bottom
Nature telling I needed to leave
Yes the view up here is awesome
Although leaving friends I do grieve

I made a promise I would return
But wait – my body is changing
I need to tell them what happens up here
I now have wings and am flying

I am now all these beautiful fluorescent colors

Embedded image from another site

I need to return to tell the good news
But all I can do is skim the water in flutters
Look up – lookup through the water and peruse

We come from the bottom of the earth
Then are called to the surface
Going through a transformation and rebirth
For a whole new life and purpose

Look up – look up above and see
God has given us a new body in life
Look up and see how beautiful you will be
You will leave the darkness too and arise

Sweet gentle beauty

Sweet gentle beauty
What pain behind those eyes
You treat your sorrow as a duty
With a forced smile that never lies
Why does God test us so
Why is faith often betrayed
We walk the road given though
Hurting as we feel so frayed
Walking numb at times hoping
The constant tears can be delayed
Ever worrying and deteriorating
Trying to foretell the cards played
Even if the burden is unimagineable
We go on for other's sake
Keeping our composure tangible
Hoping life will give us a break
Oh sweet gentle beauty
My arms surround and caress you
Enabling you to finally see
The pleasure you once knew
And was always meant to be
Not Plagued by all this sorrow
That refuses to set you free
I prey there is a God tomorrow
I prey there is divine sympathy
To ease your pain and wounds
Give you the life that never seems to be
And can never come to soon
Oh sweet gentle beauty
You deserve your turn at happiness
Sorrow is not your natural state
You are not deserving of this stress
You were meant to shine and enjoy
This is not destined to be your fate
Please then let us attempt to destroy
The pain that keeps you caged of late
And restrains your natural joy

I want to stand with you

I posted this in 2013 and felt the urge of posting it again.

Under my username as Summerwind, (aka windyweatherly), which I replaced in honor of the person who meant so much to me then.

With special thanks to Ondos who created this video.

Dedicated to all those in pain, like me and those who make the difference like my friend, Tess and Reguiny. Phil you taught me a lot and I am blessed to have met and be your friend.

Forever grateful,

Phyllis

IMAGINE - PART 2 - Peace

Embedded image from another site
Imagine the world without the Candle Peace
War and mayhem would rule and never cease
Evil would reach anywhere and everywhere
Causing chaos – confusion and fear

The 2nd Advent candle stands for the Prince of Peace
Because He came to give us spiritual release
Away from the Prince of Darkness and his reign
In Faith giving us Peace until He returns again

He told us to love our enemies as ourselves
To not be influenced by the forces of Hell
Live in Peace and harmony everyday
With all those at work, home and play!

He could have had 10,000 Angels save him that day
Instead He died for all our sins on the cross of shame
He chose Peace instead of fighting and waging war
Showing us God’s love for all of us and more

The coming of the Prince of Peace was to show the way
To have us follow in His footsteps each and everyday
Until the time He returns in triumph to eternally stay
With all His blessed children who believe in Him we pray

THREE LITTLE LEAVES

Embedded image from another site

There were three little leaves that hung together
Until one day there was windy weather
They dropped to the ground one by one
Drifting down without a sound

Suddenly another gust came and blew
Picking up one and away it flew
Far over the land out of sight
Leaving the other two shivering in fright

Another big swirl picked another up and away
Leaving the third the only one to stay
Once in a while one or the other returned to see
The third little leaf but then again would leave

Finally the sad little leaf was left all alone
Laying there tucked tight to the ground
Until it decayed and to the roots returned
Nourishing the new leaves that appeared

Alexander (Kickit Challenge)

A thousand steps
Walking a crooked fence
Am I the only one to say?
This is my miserable penance
A million smiles
Crushed beneath my feet
Yet this crooked fence
Meanders for miles and miles
Can this be the future?
I saw so much in dreams
Where every single face
Shouts to me a million screams
Did I not conquer?
All of known mankind
Yet the crooked fence
Still conquers my mind
I took the boundaries
Far beyond Macedon
Yet a thousand steps
Was never enough Kingdom
For every single man
Would build his own crooked fence
And a thousand steps
Can never cover destiny

If I could have conquered the heavens
Within a thousand steps
And bound all of the stars
Within a crooked fence
Then would I truly have been King
But walking a thousand steps
Along a crooked fence
Would be a million screams too far
For me to face my destiny

About this poem:
I have seen some lovely poems on this great theme from Kickit. I have tried to envisage that no matter how great you may be you still walk your own crooked fence.

Say you'll be mine

If I kissed your lips
Would you kiss mine
If I held your hand
Would you hold mine
If I wanted to make you mine
Could you find the time
We started off as friends
feelings have grown
I don't want you to moan and groan
I want to hear you say you feel the same way
I want to be with you every day
When I'm with you it's always a sunny day
please say you'll stay
I want to love you
I want to make you mine

My Way

I always felt the lust flowing thru my veins

Talking in my head sometimes driving me insane

It's the power of the road that seems to take hold

It's the wandering bug flowing out of control

I've tried to settle down but found it so hard

Never worrying about what laid ahead for me

Older now with open vision the past is all I see

I've been called a woman of class every entrance a debutante

Been called a hell raiser the devil would fight not to set free

I've long since stopped caring what people had to say

Found it better to live life my own way

My life has been just one big oxymoron stroll

But thru it all I have managed to keep my heart out of the cold

Broken tattered barely beating still....fighting to continue its will.....

Never been my intent to cast harm upon life

But sadly sometimes I was a double edged knife

Never been one to lay with many men

Kept them at a distance made them my friend

So don't mistake my wildness to mean that I am loose

For if you do life will give you a swift kick in your caboose
