Thoughts of Romance

Romance is
a shy glance returned in kind
a note of love read with hungry mind
a trusting hand reaching out
a knowing smile with no doubt
a touch that makes you smile
a smile that makes your life worthwhile
a poem said from one of you
a lover's whisper "I love you"
a scenic walk along hand in hand
a beach with clear pure white sand
a gentle breeze through your hair
a shared laugh and longing stare
a sandcastle made by two
a searching look that beckons you
a sunset watched with patient view
a quiet phrase for only you
a word unspoken but still understood
a squeezed hand that feels so good
a thought of them and not you
a dim lit table just for two
a garden walk with hands entwined
a perfect night when you dined
a tender word that touched your heart
a lonely place when you're apart
a picture that etches in your brain
a pleaseing picture to sustain
a caressing hand in your hair
a note with flowers that lovers share
a special song meaning more
a kind of feeling you are living for
a racing heart when you're near
a happy thought and glimpse of tear
a private thought and maybe more
a sad look that you can not ignore
a skipped heartbeat until you know
a secret to you they must bestow
a pensive question and anxious stare
a relieved mind when you "don't care"
a honest word bereft of claim
a warmth when they say your name
a look allowed into your very soul
a memory that surpassed your goal
a gentle caress that means so much
a gaze that meets anothers such
a tender embrace with caring hands
a sharing of thoughts without demands
a single instance on this earth
a special moment shows its worth
a first sublime eternal kiss
a single instant that just Is

Connecting singles poets

Not long ago
I felt so all alone
I had no where to go
I would just wonder and roam
I came on here and read some poems
I then knew I wasn't alone
I read many of a poem
Some of them hit home
Some made me moan
But after reading all your poems
I felt like I found my home
There are many stores to be told
All in the form of a poem
This is now my second home
I've made several wonderful friends
I cherrish each and everyone of you
Everyday through
So I just want to send a big thank you
I'm not afraid to tell you I care
I'm sure each and everyone of you know
Just how dear you are
For each and everyone of you poets
Are like a fine piece of art
And all hold
a special place
In my heart!

My Ode To Summer...

---- IMAGE REMOVED because photobucket.com no longer allows embedded images ----

Sullen leaves fall steadily
Whispering good-bye
As though in a trance...
They seem to know,
The time has come to die.
Wafting drearily,
And weightlessly,
Across a crimson sky...
Even strong old Mr. Willow,
Seems to hang his head and cry.
Cotton candy clouds, seem to wave,
And then to frown...
As summer reluctantly relinqueshes
Her sunny vibrant crown.
The scent of mothballs overpowers me
As I wipe away a single tear,
My heart is heavy even as I sigh,
Till we meet again next year.

shall we have another year?

where will fate deliver us?
to the moon and back, anew
it was a bumpy ride the first time
who dreamt we'd ever make it through?

yet, here we are today
as one...you and I
our voice and touch so soothing
as some distant lullaby

the hard part became simple
be loved and love as well
all turmoil surmounted
from the blessed day we fell

in love with one another
our hearts had opened wide
no earthly matters mattered
we had let go of pride

and now we hold all number
of that we deem as real
to hold our breath no longer
for tis happiness we feel

if today we are to die
our life together end
let it be, for we have found
our rare essential friend

Renascence

---- IMAGE REMOVED because photobucket.com no longer allows embedded images ----
" Renascence "

Where the desert meets the sky
Or when you stand alone
on romantic shores
It's like being born into a new world
but yet you've felt it once before
When that perfect ball of fire rises
Mild silver , furious gold
Its delicious to your delight
a peering window through your naked soul
It reminds you nothing last forever
but still believe some things truly do
If the universe is truly timeless
then eternity is in its youth
Its at that moment when you realize
you can find it once again
That thing of beauty,
peace and love
Or a heart you've never met
Maybe something that you've lost
or maybe something you let go
Its still out there
and that's the trip
Always that feeling of wanting more
The possibilities of getting that back
or maybe letting go for good
Stand brave before your horizons
and let your hunger become your food

Togetherness (Haiku)

Dreams don't want to stop
Twilight breaking dawn
Waking in your arms

Surrending my life
Giving up some ghosts
Receiving what now

Stop Wait Not Ready
I want better life
Living on the edge

Dark meets your light
Shine on empty space
Illuminate me

Don't forsake me now
I am still alive
Help me to survive

All I need is you
Standing by my side
Holding tight my hand

Together we go
Dancing into time
No more life wasting

Peaceful easy love
Touching both our hearts
Sharing all we are

Feeling much better
Joining up with you
Never alone now

Morning Star (Angel of light)

Embedded image from another site

What is she
to me?
she shines by Mars
as the morning
and evening stars...

Inspiration for poetry
the fire in my hearth
she is a magician I know
an enchantress
moonlight on my window...

Come forth feathered dragon
morning star rise
I face to confront my sin
my fiery happiness
let the dream begin...

Morning star
to evening star
Winter starlight fell
sparks from your black hair
for even Lucifer was an angel...

IMAGINE - Part 3 - Candle Joy

Embedded image from another site
IMAGINE – Part 3

Imagine the world without the Candle Joy
The laugh of a child playing with a toy
New parents celebrating a new born birth
Celebrating holidays with sounds of mirth

Without Joy the whole world would be sad
Going around with nothing at all to feel glad
Every day would be like a day of mourning
Nothing to look forward to each morning

What a depressing place it would be
With no happiness in sight to see
Weeping, crying long faces all the time
Of Joy and gladness there would be no sign

On Christmas Day the Candle Joy came
In the form of a baby and Jesus was His name
He gave us the ability to see Joy in all things
Including death as our Spirit then to Heaven wings

A Poem For My Fellow Poets

Can you see us bent over kitchen tables
And our pencil's warm erasers
As we pour our hearts into liquid words upon the lowly page?
Can you see us stopped in parking lots;
Searching for scraps among the floorboards,
Then, with pen to note, we scratch a word to show a life, a love, and age?

We who fight with nature
Never searching, always believing,
We strive against cold, heat and drought to keep the wolves from the door...
But the battle seems wan in comparison
To the war with words we wage,
As we seek to convey a thought, a poem to live and last forevermore.

Why, we were fine and fancy...
No cares beyond the gate
Our only worries keeping calves alive and shipping them eight months later.
Until we tasted immortality
On this life's stage or 'round a campfire
And you, who come to read our words, became the instigator

So we take it all in and write it down
In between the endless chores
Amazed and honored that there are people who read and listen and seem to care
We try to make you laugh and cry
In portraying all we really savvy
And somehow make it all of value and something worthy to share.

Most give little thoughts to such an act
This trying to capture in ink a sunset
When an artist or a photographer can hardly succeed at such a task
Without film or paint or music
Armed with only our imaginations
We connect the dots and record our lives
Our future and our past.

Thus we dance with you as partners
In this waltz of verse and lingo
As long as you continue to listen, we'll try to get it right
With words that bind us close together
Transcending time and borders,
For we are the poets
And you are the reason we write.

THE OWL

WHEN THE OWL SPEAKS; PEOPLE LISTEN! HE POSSESSES THOSE SPOOKY EYES THAT SEEM TO GLISTEN! I LONG TO HEAR HIM HOOT, FOR HE"S AN EVERLASTING WATCHDOG AND YOU SHOULD BE EVER AWARE AS YOU COMMUTE! HE"S A STRANGE BIRD BUT HARDLY A MORE DISTINCTIVE SOUND CAN EVER BE HEARD! I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE AN OWL PERCHED OUTSIDE MY HOME! HE WOULD BE MY FIRST LINE OF DEFENSE AND HE WOULD ALERT ME, BEFORE THE MOMENT GETS TENSE!
