She was only the vicars daughter.......

She was only the vicars daughter,
though she didn't quite act as she oughta,
one day her spells got scrambled,
at the witches classes where she dabbled,
and changed all her dads wine to water.

Hey, Cowboy! Hold Your Horse!

Hey, Cowboy!
Hold your horse,
Slow down!
Whattya think,
You'r the only one in the town?

I know I'm a pretty gal
And you wanna take me out.
Whattya gonna to impress me with?
Old hat, lonely look
And the boots worn out?

Touch my heart, Cowboy,
Let it sing.
If you can't - get back in the line
Before I sting.

Responce, By Redrose2009:

...
A Knightly Cowboy

In a sun-kissed town
By sundown
Lonely looks of a cowboy with exhausted boots and a tattered hat
Meet tamed looks of a pretty gal staring at his horse’s rat-a-tat-tat
She waves at the knightly cowboy, with a change of heart
Asks him if he’s the only one in the town to have a heart-to-heart
After greeting with a friendly “Hi”
He says, in this town, he’s the only regular guy
His golden touch can turn hearts into spring
He’s even able to make them beautifully sing.

To Aprhodite

To a pure goddess

Did I just hear a voice? Or was it the whisper
Of a Goddess that walked this way past?
I stopped, I had a look and found to my joy
That Aphrodite herself set her eyes on me at last.

But why should she take her time to look
Upon a cowboy who thinks he’s the only one in town?
Surely he is a nobody compared to such beauty;
I wonder, but it only makes me frown.

This heavenly creature is the same one of my dreams;
The same one whose face makes my heart leap.
And now that she has taken human form
I shall no longer find relaxation in my sleep.

Come Aphrodite single me out
Let me shower you with eternal love
Let me fold my arms around you in perfect bliss
And clasped together let us fly beyond the clouds above.

Lake District (acrostic)

Languid days of Summer
Amber sun beams delight
King Fishers as they dart
Each one to its post.

Down by the river's edge
I watch, and listen-
See each one as it dives -
Then, back to its perch.
Resting there awhile
In the still silence
Calm waves gently lapping
Tranquil sounds abound

Oh You, My Hero Shy!

Oh you, my hero shy,
You’ve made a close escape,
How long I played the part
Without help of friend!

To help of yours accursed
Refused I to resort.
Amidst the scenes and ghosts
Escaped you unobserved.

But in this shame of mine
I walked before the audience cruel.
All as bad luck, in public eye,
All in this role of playing single.

Oh how parterre with laughter roared!
You evidence me pardoned not
So shameful of my waste and loss,
The harmlessness of smile you mocked.

And greedily your herds did plod
To quench their thirst on my grief.
Alone, alone – in shame clothed
I’m standing biting my lips.

But to the reckless, hasty mob
Real hero isn’t seen.
Oh hero, you are frightened so!
Don’t fear – I won’t speak.

All our role is just my role,
I’ve lost in it - am nowhere.
All our pain is just my pain,
It’s so much pain to bear!

About this poem:
A scene in a two-actor drama! Once I read that the saddest thing in the world is loving someone, who used to love you. It is even worse when this love is ridiculed by crowd, when all innermost feelings are trampled. “Love, unrequited, robs me of my rest: Love, hopeless love, my ardent soul encumbers...” wrote W. Gilbert.

This is my translation from the famous Russian poetess Bella Akhmadulina. I attach a video file in which you can listen to the audio performance by the actress reading the poem in Russian. For those who know Russian and just for the pleasure of listening to the masterly recital.

Wine and Sea

The seas had receded, but they took their time
As if opening that fine bottle of wine
Meant so very little to the uncouth
Ah the blessings of a wasted youth

That had not yet drunk from the cup of wisdom
So our little world was still their kingdom
But the seas would return, sometimes in a rage
And youth would become man, but still no sage

For they still did not savour Chateau Neuf Du Pap
They preferred the rage still to the gentle lap
But give them time, like all fine matured things
They learn perhaps circles are actually rings

But wisdom of age is not the sanctuary of the fool
He learns that the steadiest seat is the three legged stool
But like fine wine the young will eventually mellow
And understand a raging sea is not a good bedfellow

Hasten not though to drink from the sea of tranquillity
Do not let those learning years pass in mediocrity
Read Kipling’s IF as you breathe in the air
And those seas may then be calm and treat you fair

For real learning is not always in a philosophy book
It is in those people you thought old and mistook
For they only fish where the cormorants would circle
For the long race was won not by the hare but the turtle

For time and patience has taught them many things
They learn that not all circles are necessarily rings
Drink slowly the wine and savour the taste
And you just may find those years have not gone to waste

Do You Even Care About Me Anymore?

As I sit in what use to be our home
knowing this will be my last night,
How do I express my pain through this pen
as I watch the blood drip from my arm
while I try to write?

Have to find a way to rid the pain
cause its killing me, it really hurts alot,
If you could see the misery Im in now
would you try to save or rescue me? OR,
Do you even care about me anymore or not?

Cant explain how this feels
Ive never hurt this deep before,
Every second, ways to die are crossing my mind
more and more.

Easiest way would be a gun, bullet, and a very close shot,
within a fration of a second
all my pains and problems could be stopped.
If this was my future, would you feel the slightest bit sad?
Do you even care that much or not?

Please tell me how Im suppose to cope and react?
When for five years I gave you my heart
and in one night, you gave it right back,
Thats why I have to finish these drugs
and pray my plan will work
Where I do so much, I would just die of a heart attack.

If I die, its because of this heart I could never mend,
I know I can no longer go on living this way
Will today be the day my life shall come to an end?
Do you still care about me anymore?
Are you even still my friend?

Love hurts so much, like my heart as been cut
by a thousand stabbing knives,
If only one could finish the job to end the hurt and pain
that you have now put in my life.

Especially when I have this much pain
that I know I could never deny,
The only way the pain could continue to hurt
was if I "chose" to stay alive.

My body and arms are so sore
now I can feel my heart beating too fast,
Please God, let now be my time
and soon I will forget this feeling and leave it in the past.

Life or death, I will always keep one memory
a memory of us both,
Its the one that lets me remember
how we use to love each other just a short time ago,
It remains safe in my mind and soul,
For this one memory, is the only memory,
I will forever hold.

I PROMISE
to always hold and remember it and never forget
even if your not there,
Just like the memory
that scar you left in my heart
will always be here.

If I take this memory to the grave with me today
would your heart receive a new tear,
or would you even notice?
Cause all along you never did care?

A Lonely Christmas Poem

A Lonely Christmas Poem

Often in these quiet peaceful times

My thoughts gel and run in rhymes

And so it is with Christmas all alone

Here I sit pondering cold as a stone

Here in solitude without my love

Wishing to be taken to heaven above

Feeling that urge with no one near

No one to say “I love you my dear”

At times like these my words unfurl

Just waiting to be said to the right girl

The woman that God made to be my wife

And share together a loving life

To her I would say “I Love You!”

With a love that’s forevermore true

It’s eternal, unending, to the last day

Waiting when…. I love you I’ll say

Beautiful dove
perhaps it is
your midnight hair
shadow eyes
the song of your voice
that draws me to you
like a river to the sea...

What do you dream
in your dreams?
I dream to know
of your desires that sleep
within your deep well...

Impaled in my chest
a thorn of passion for you
I would pluck it out
but my heart would go numb...

In my endless sky
there is a space for you
you the gypsy moon
a moon for my eyes to linger
I dream to see
moonlight trickle down
caressing the curves of your body...

Tonight mi cielo
I seek your moonlight face
the soft tender touch
of your flower bud hands
I thirst to drink
from your nectar voice
and gently kiss
your rose red lips...

I will savor
the fragrant breeze
coming from the dark forest
of your silken hair
and climb the two mountains
that are your breasts...

Two breasts
two conquerors
that battle for control
of the sphere of your bosom...

My Spanish dove
you need not
utter a word
we are lovers
I the sun
you the lunar
we are alone
one the other
so naked
wrapping ourselves
in the unsayable...

Ideal Partner

IDEAL PARTNER
I AM IN LOVE WITH A DREAM
A dream to find my soul mate
Freedom to search but is it to late.
I turn to the Internet to find that certain one
I have been searching in my country but found none.
I look to places I have never been
I email people I have never seen.
I see there is chat, this I have not attempted
People are chatting; by me they are not tempted.
So I am a silent voice who is never seen
I am hidden behind a computer screen.
My pictures show a smile as you see
There is more to me than on this screen.
Friendship is a beautiful start
Relationship is a beautiful end.
Could I be the Ray of sunshine in your life?

Mi Luna

Embedded image from another site

Luna as I watch you rise
I imagine my raven lover
painting her in delicate hues
as I always do in my dreams..

Mi Luna I am but a sailor
you the sea moon, Bella Luna
mesmerizing with your beauty and fullness
whose reflection ripples in the waters...

On the night I fell in love with you
I breathed her warm fragrance
spawned upon a gentle touch
on a sweet night of your clarity..

Oh Mi Luna
I ask that you do not drift away
you inspire the dream of love
it would bring me to much tears!

My beloved Luna
may you both be my love
I have sobbed for her under your sky
comforted by the truth you will never leave...

Mi Luna, shine upon our sea
from a distant shore I hear the mariachi
you are a moon of lovers
soft are your wings, blanca is your skin...

Heart crystal Luna
of the ocean
shine down on me...
