If We Could Bring You Back Again

If We Could Bring You Back Again

If we could bring you back again,
For one more hour or day,
We’d express all our unspoken love;
We’d have countless things to say.

If we could bring you back again,
We’d say we treasured you,
And that your presence in our lives
Meant more than we ever knew.

If we could bring you back again,
To tell you what we should,
You’d know how much we miss you now,
And if we could, we would.

I wrote your name in the sand !

I wrote your name in the sand but the waves washed it away
I wrote your name on my hand but I washed it the next day
I wrote your name on a paper but I accidentally threw it away
I wrote your name in my heart and forever it will stay.

That Pain

That pain,
It was not even pain
Yet

...Just...
Love touched my throat...
With a blade.

my love

My Love

by Linda hillier 03/12/2006

I had a love
he brought me alive
gave meaning to my life
the sun shone brighter
warming me to my soul
whenever he was near
he brought Joy into my life
we shared thoughts
across a crowded room
as for laughter
it was with us every day
lightening the mundane
we smiled to see love grow
between your daughter and my son
knowing it unlikely to last
at 6 and 9 too young
but sharing their sweet pangs
all the time we had together
was so truly blessed
loving you made me a better person
always you had a kind word
and gave folks a helping hand
I lost you far too young
it left me a devastated wreck
I now live one day at a time
knowing the last thing u wanted
is for me to mourn
my darling it is so hard
how the hell can I not grieve for you
the one who was and is my every breath
still I love you
and will love you forever and a day

sleep in peace my love my heart my soul

he longs to swim free.

Rivers of my Face

My face is a map
That traces, so accurately
The journey
Of my life
Like old roads
Carved out of hope
Trying to lead somewhere
Now tired and worn
Always remaining
Beyond repair
Fading into the past
Before the journey
Had barely travelled
Lightly trodden paths
Often fondly remembered
For that one single moment
When they crossed
Each other’s destiny
They left such little trace
But measured together
Provide so many memories
Of long lost desires

The ravines of past loves
So very deep
Etched from sadness
As ever growing rifts
Drifting further apart
Wrenched from pain
And scarred with sorrow
With impassable rivers
Born of tears
That had bled
From eyes
That had seen
Futility

But hope
Is an emotion
Where desires
Can see further
Than futility
For this map
Has one last space
To be fulfilled
And complete
The journey of life
And when that final river
Crosses my face
And flows
Into nothingness
All I will ever know
Is it will never
Be as deep
As yours

About this poem:
At my age this is fairly accurate. I am on a sabbatical from my novel because I need to write some new poetry, not much, but one now and again to refresh my warped mind.

Ten ways to ward off a Zombie

It's typical this season to look out your window
and see a horde of Zombies dragging accross your front
lawn. But fear not. Here are some tried and proven tips
to ward off those pesky Zombies who are only out for blood.
You can thank me later.

1. Work their ego: Tell them you really admire their persistance
and would like to join their group.

2. Appeal to their sense of injustice: Tell them they should have
been the rightful dancers in Michael Jacksons, 'Thriller.'

3.Offer them a Mc Donalds 'Happy Meal' gift certificate and suggest
they take the day off.

4. Tell them it's not you they want but the old hag who lives next
door whose been making fun of them and she has a fat cat they might
be interested in too.

5. Tell them that the IRS Auditors have already been to your house.

6. Appeal to their sense of community: Tell them your mother-in-law
rents the room #666 right accross the hall from them in hell.

7. When they knock, open your front door waring a Richard Nixon mask.

8. Appeal to their sense of style: Tell them they'd attract more
victims if they shopped the latest in Macy's Department Store's Zombie apparrel.

9. Give them real hope: Tell them they fully qualify for Social Security benefits and the latest HMO Health Care Plan.

10. Get a crow bar from the trunk of your car and beat their
freaking brains out!

Tiger in Aries (acrostic

Tiger in Aries (acrostic)

Tiger mighty one are you
In deep shadows you lie
Great king of the jungle
Enjoying your slumber
Roaring out your anger

In fury when disturbed
Not a single leaf moves

As you stalk your prey
Ready now for a kill
Icy cold is your glare
Eyes brightly shining as
Silently you eat your fill

Gedig vir jou

Soos vars blomme in die moredou
Is jou skoonheid. Ja my liefste vrou,
Soos Karooblom na die eerste reen
Groei my liefd’ vir jou alleen.

My lew’ het jy gevul met waarde,
My voete stewig op die aarde
My hart oorvol met liefde rein
My hart joune en jou myn’.

Bin’kort begin ons toekoms saam
Ons toekoms ‘plaas in God se Naam
Ons twee se lewens in Sy hand
Inons verbroke liefdesband…

Jys wonderlik, kosbaar. Ja my lief
Jy is my liefste hartedief,
My gou flussies weg gesteel
Om dit met jou alleen te deel.

My geluk en vreude ken geen perk
My eerste liefde wat reg werk
Wat nie beskryf kan word in woord
Met daad en voel gaan ek dan voort

My hart en lewe’t jy getoor
Met geluk en liefde my bekoor
Die sin in lewe weer gekry
Groot liefde tussen jou en my

Dankie my liefling omdat jy
Met hierdie vaalseun saam wil bly
My hart geneem en dit genees
Wie anders kan so lieflik wees?

Binnekort is ons vir altyd saam
Ek net klere sonder faam
Maar met ‘n hart so groot, verbly
Want jy’s oneindig lief vir my
