The inky grey

Faltering
the sound of a distant church bell
flocks of starlings
in the village
all men are dressed in black
proceeding to the grave site
I can see it from my refuge
high on the hill
in the weakening winter sun
who Matthews was
I hardly knew
whether he fought
I do not know
bound for the earth
all in his time
I light a cigarette
and going downwind
I descend
into the inky grey

A sordid vintage

Marion returns
from the kitchen
coveting glasses
1962 is passing
Chevy in the rain

I fan the magazine
feign interest in the television
Marion pours deliberately
a sordid vintage
Floyd Patterson

Marilyn was a tragedy
Marion eyes me for reaction
I shift slowly
with suburban malaise
missiles for Cuba

Love, love me do
Marion hums
this year I'll grow my hair
escape the city
Glenn in orbit

Fear

I feel that stream bubbling inside
You have really have no clue
How much I am trying to hide
What I am going through
When cosmic forces collide
When my blood turns to blue
The long silent scream I cried
The wind born flowers strew
Over barren winter fields died
Did life ever so happy knew
Was joy only mine to hide
Or just fear to draw and slew
Like a sword into my side
So much worry to cut through

About this poem:
Baseless anxieties shouldn’t become permanent roadblocks. Fear is such a raw emotion.

SLEEP…

Lost in an abyss of darkness, I seek after it warily.
Fighting off the Insomnia that so easily overtakes me can be hard;
And sleep can be so elusive when I want it.
But I know it won’t always be so.
I don’t seem to need it as much as I have before,
But I must have it often…until I need it no more.
Longing for the abyss of darkness, I seek after it wearily.
Sleep hides me away from my fears and my doubts,
So come, sweet sleep, and hide me now.
And, one day, it’ll hide me away from this life too.

A Planetary Vision

If we could release the hurt that goes back generations
Just think of what a great world we could build together
When forgiveness is not swept aside like dust in the wind
When forgiveness gives a very human touch to offenses
As long as were ready to move on together in this world
We should be ok or what ever else humanity can devise
I just predict when bright minds are allowed to get together
To discuss the important issues that need to be addressed
This world will likely come together like nobody else

A Time To Weep Away

I’m right here where you left me
A sinking heart full of holes
Who can go on like this forever
Floods rise in a swollen river

How much will life rise then fall
A brief delirious moment in time
When life was only a top chart song
And forever never lasted that long

I must look outside of my own fear
Beyond where my eyes can see
The future lying down the road
So much now the pace has slowed

Your loss is deeper than a black hole
Where nothing can hope to escape
What can bring back such pleasure
Fulfilling life with abundant measure

So now please I just want to weep
For what was lost and go to sleep
Only after this deepest sorrow
Will I believe again in tomorrow

Pardon me for sharing my greatest pain
Washing away the sorrow in my soul
For truly when the flood of tears do fall
When life feels like we have lost it all

When at last this peace will come
Life does rise again from within
I will remember you one sunny day
A rainbow above the darkened grey

Still we reign

Sipping from your eternal spring
an amber night filled with heather
moving amongst your curls
Oh would you not curse me
if I told you all, now,
in this moment, close
where spirit meets the flesh
through long joyful hours
imbibing from the urn
cast naked before me
for we have come from afar
awash with youth
and though the heavens
may pass ceaselessly
still we reign

!?

I do not know what to do
except for loving you
but it seems like all my words
are not coming through

I am so alone
in my heart and bone
because you always keep me
in that friendly zone

you do not want to love me
you do not want to kiss
what does it take for you to see me
and that I am someone you should miss!?

LOVE I GUESS

THAT THING CALLED LOVED, I SEARCHED FOR IT EVERYWHERE.
I ASSUME IT'S NOT A BIG DEAL?
YOU SAY LOVE IS A BIG DEAL.
MEETING SOMEONE ADEQUATE & STARTING A NEW LIFE.
I DON'T BELIEVE IN THAT ANYMORE.
I WILL ENJOY LOVE IN MODERATIONS TILL IT'S OVER. NO ONE IS HURT.
NO TEARS TO HIDE.
MOVE ON AND BEGIN THE CYCLE AGAIN.

THE MUSE: EDELWEISS – Vol. I - Prologue

THE MUSE: EDELWEISS – Vol. I
*** Part I: Poetic Pillars – Monads ***
[ I ]
*** PROLOGUE ***

“You give a flower to the man - and the one, in his recklessness and ignorance, throws it away.
You give a pebble to the man, then,
smaller than any pebble
the open eye would have seen it, - but the man throws it again, from the same precepts; - or you, hearing his heart that he no longer listens to, you know he was shouting: these are too big for me!.."

MUZA: EDELWEISS (Floarea de Col?) – Vol. I
*** PROLOG ***

“Îi daruie?ti o floare, omului, - iar acela, în nechibzuin?a-i ?i ne?tiin?a-i, ?i-o arunca.
Îi daruie?ti o pietricica, atunci, omului,
mai mica decât orice pietricica
ar fi zarit-o ochiul liber, - însa omul, ?i-o arunca, iara?i, din acelea?i precepte; - ori tu, auzindu-i inima pe care nu ?i-o mai asculta, ?tii ca striga: sunt prea mari, pentru mine, acestea!..”
