her mouth was small
in the immediacy of the moment
that's what I noticed
she always looked good
in those cut-off jeans
and how she worked
those alluring curves
always caught me
Jesus child
finally found her man
mountaineer they said
25 years ago now girl
well at least I can
still remember it
with a grin
a jewel of a moment
which passed with the wind
never to be more
when I sit here
all I can do is hope
that that mountaineer
evened the score

Only a fool would believe in a dream
As she comes to him upon silver streams
Only a fool sees such beauty
as he sings her a song because he feels it's his duty
Only a fool is often blind not to see her smile is selectively kind
Only a fool creates an image of his beloved in his mind
Only a fool is stupid enough to believe in such beautiful eyes
Yet cannot discern between truth and lies
Only a fool often deceives himself when he is only seeing the binder of the book upon a shelf
Only a fool accepts surface knowledge without delving deeper to the heart
often by doing so he is finished before he even starts
Only a fool hears his own song and nobody is listening anymore because they heard his same old story for too long
Only a fool refuses to heed to the wisdom blowing in the summer breeze
For he is too busy crying and whining for his beloved to appease
Only a fool is too stupid to see his beloved never left him out in the cold to freeze
Yet, he left her in tears to chase other foolish dreams
Only a fool indeed long after it's too late he has sealed his fate
There are no more chances to fix what is broken all the fool has left is a token
Only a fool never seems to learn no matter how smart he thinks he is
Love is like sand that pours out of a sieve
It rains its beauty for a moment like water to help the fool live
When its all gone there is no more to give.

The sky is dark
The shdes of dark blue
Dwelling in my eyes
Swollen with pain
The rain shall rejoice
For the very drops
Fall with my forlorn
That kisses my cheeaks
With the tears of heaven
The stars that are meant to glisten
Hinding being the dark curls
The wind are desined to sing’
Now crying beneath the clouds
The sky is dark
Waiting to pour in on me

I know there is no one to come
But I still have my windows open
Gazing hopefully
Into the distant pathways
Where the flowers have fallen
I am Just waiting in the patio
For the someone
I know will never come
But I have a chair ready for
I know there is no one to know my door
But I still hear the knocks
Rush to the door
Just to come back to know
There was no one at the door
I know the spring would never come
But I still have a swing on the branch
On the flowering tree
Where we could swing together
if someone comes
I know I am alone in the suset
But I leave a space in the bench
For someone to sit
Put the hands over my shoulder
I know all no one would ever come
But I wait here hoping
Just incase …….

Now that you are gone
I hear your song
Now that I pushed you away
for no apparent reason
I still see your loving ray
with every summer season
Your truth sings like a bird in a meadow
it lights the darkness within the shadows
Though with fear and doubt I walk in my arrogance
and deny my ignorance
there sits a flower in a garden
as she sings and plays her song
Always reminding me the love she has to offer
and her truth is not always wrong
She comes to me in many guises much like an angel
with silver wings as I watch her fly within her magical machine
Her message is often the same no matter what mask she wears or thought she bears
She stands bold like a warrior princess
Her sword cuts through the bone
Her beauty is all I need to atone
I failed to see so many times
how much love she has I dont really deserve her for my many crimes
It's so sad to think she lives so far from me in a far away land by the sea
I see her riding upon a golden stallion she wears a silver medallion a symbol of her truth as she sees me
Its but a mirror to see our reflection of a one time affection we once had that was to last for all eternity
Unfortunately it has become obscured and clouded with my stupidity
Oh they say there is time and hope to fix what appears to be broken for a small token
All is not lost even for a minor cost
A choice is presented to let go of past regrets
To see only the present is all we have as time begets
Or to be lost forever in a glass seeing it either half empty or full stuck over who broke the rule

My face is a map
That traces, so accurately
The journey
Of my life
Like old roads
Carved out of hope
Trying to lead somewhere
Now tired and worn
Always remaining
Beyond repair
Fading into the past
Before the journey
Had barely travelled
Lightly trodden paths
Often fondly remembered
For that one single moment
When they crossed
Each other’s destiny
They left such little trace
But measured together
Provide so many memories
Of long lost desires
The ravines of past loves
So very deep
Etched from sadness
As ever growing rifts
Drifting further apart
Wrenched from pain
And scarred with sorrow
With impassable rivers
Born of tears
That had bled
From eyes
That had seen
Futility
But hope
Is an emotion
Where desires
Can see further
Than futility
For this map
Has one last space
To be fulfilled
And complete
The journey of life
And when that final river
Crosses my face
And flows
Into nothingness
All I will ever know
Is it will never
Be as deep
As yours

About this poem:
At my age this is fairly accurate. I am on a sabbatical from my novel because I need to write some new poetry, not much, but one now and again to refresh my warped mind.

Author: Jane Austen
'I've a pain in my head'
Said the suffering Beckford;
To her Doctor so dread.
'Oh! what shall I take for't?'
Said this Doctor so dread
Whose name it was Newnham.
'For this pain in your head
Ah! What can you do Ma'am?'
Said Miss Beckford, 'Suppose
If you think there's no risk,
I take a good Dose
Of calomel brisk.'--
'What a praise worthy Notion.'
Replied Mr. Newnham.
'You shall have such a potion
And so will I too Ma'am.'

I still think of you often
I still yearn for your touch
My soul finds repose in your arms.
I still miss your blue eyes
Your laugh and your smile
The essence of all of your charms.
Your genuine nature - your soul searching zest
Your pleasing and personable air.
You’re everything I want, desire and need...
Without you - oh how will I fare?
