Letting Love Lead

Now, the time is come for me to carry on,
What was right then - time to pay the Piper,
Still, I wasn't wrong,
So quickly went that life on a perfectly jagged road--,
Letting love lead the way-,
Just to feel something where there was nothing at all,
Years to build - watching in moments to fall,
Once again, alone,
But still standing tall--,
Letting love lead you betrayed-,

Letting love lead you,
Then love no longer needs you,
What else can you do?
Just follow the sound?-,

So many paths you could have chose,
You chose love and what did you know?
A winner only to lose?,
Or the path you go?--,
Letting love lead astray-,
Now since time - it has come to change,
Without many words here left to say,
But there is you,
And you are still the same--,
Letting love lead-,

Letting love lead me,
Blindly knowing love can deceive me,
What else could it be?
I'll just follow that sound!----

About this poem:
I wrote this 6-20-2022. This is a sad, sentimental song that we've all had a taste of, or perhaps still has a taste in our mouth from yesterday's life. When I wrote this, I wrote it here before placing on paper/ music sheets. So, this is an original first draft without music or rewriting, adding more or subtracting less. Until then...

Not even the tide, would take her out....

I'm.no strange to love lost
It has no quarrels with me
No mercy at there feet
Just relentless no dates
Not even.the tide would take me out.......
So I plod along my.merry way
Nothing to show for my.life just pain
I will go.now and bury.my head
Among the pages of my.book
For reading diverts all my pain
I.will soon laugh

I wish I could talk to you

I want to talk to you so much
Although our fate
And life journeys are so different
I want to talk to you
About trifles
Which are not worthy
Of your attention ,
About a stranger
Who is passing by,
About something unequivocally deep,
About the Eye,
Watching all of us,
About what I dreamt
Last night..

I want to talk to you so much
But you are silent
And it will never change.....

I wish I could talk to you

Fresh Start

A hug and a warm embrace
Still searching far far away
Journey into our past
We make our own time
Over the winter day
We were once so close
Near to the fire burning
Tearing us away from other
My tears still burning
In my sleep I’m turning
Out there on the ice
One side keeps learning
On the other side somehow
Still my heart is yearning
Set it free and apart
See it free falling now
Don’t leave me alone
Pull me closer to your heart
I won’t drift away from you
Looking for a fresh start
A clean break away soon
Into our own time follows

Missing you

Missing you
By Ramaking

Due to your departure
Thousand leagues
I rode so far away
Among country roads;
Thousand herds
Of cattle I touched;
Thousand colts I tamed ;
But the longing for you,
The missing of you,
In a framework of feelings
I did not tame
Because I am busted,
Lost among ghost buildings.

About this poem:
In the poem Missing You, the poet Ramaking follows the tradition of the minstrels, the poets wanderers, belonging to the Middle Age in France, Portugal and Spain. This tradition was brought later to Brazil with the Portugueses in the colonial period. As a rule, in a dramatic tone, the minstrel describes the loss or departure of a loved one. This tendency was incorporated in the center of Brazil by the "caipiras" , regional country singers that ended up becoming a popular phenomenon of the Brazilian music. Truly speaking, the roots of the minstrels can be traced to the Classical Antiquity and in epics like Iliad and Odyssey from Homer.

INFIDELITY…Tell me lies

Tell me I’m the soulmate that you’ve searched for all your life;
Tell me I’m the woman that you’re proud you made your wife.
Tell me that no one else could ever take my place;
Tell me all these lies, as you look me in the face.

Tell me that she’s “no one” and “nothing happened” too;
Tell me that she’s the one whose chasing after you.
Tell me that you told her that you’d never leave your wife.
Tell me lies that maul my soul and cleave it with a knife.

Tell me, tell me why you came into my life at all.
Tell me how the man I love(d) could have so great a fall.

Tell me lies......

Rain drops !

The raindrops battering the windowpane!
The loneliness escalating my heart's pain !

I pace! I pose ! I wonder !
Lightening ripping through the dark clouds that thunder!

Wish he was nearby peeping through the windows across the avenue
A glimpse is all I long for to give my lonesome heart a clue!

“He’s here, he's here," my heart would whisper!
Wish he was next to me in my room so cold, so poor!

The looks in his eyes, the locks of his hair and his smiling face!
No one I marvel more THAN him for an engaging gaze!

His enchanting voice, his magical touch would have me deeply induced!
Forever I would have myself locked in his arms warmly embraced!

Remnants..

Entwined we stared upon the starry night,
White spiderwebs adorned the woods like lace,
The cold moon wore a garland of pale light,
That cast gold radiance around your face.

But new love's bloom can slowly turn to grey,
And promise drips like candle grease it seems.
When our eyes met, I should have turned away,
Cruel passing time did not respect our dreams.

Oh reader fond, do not misunderstand,
These remnants of past love hold no disdain,
Love stories are not always built on sand,
And broken hearts won't always harbour pain.

Much better to have loved and let it go,
Than never to have felt your heart aglow.

Letting Go ... Moving On ...

In my mind's eye, when I looked
at what should have been our "holding hands" ...
I saw that yours had silently released its hold ,
like mute falling pearls let go
from its strand of gold ...
Loved you too truly to make any demands ...
And understood you genuinely
to realize the why
that my heart understands ...

You told me,
maybe I should let you go ...
That maybe,
I should find somebody else to know ...
That after all, you're still too broken
to give committed affection with no reserve ...
Can't therefore love me the way I deserve ...

You have been the most I've connected with, though ..
Fit nearest perfect
intellectually, emotionally, and physically ...
As I look back tearfully ... sadly ...
Deep in me, I do know
it is something we can keep together
only if we work at it with one another ...

So eventually , I just as quietly set you free ...
If you ever come back when already you're mended.
that's entirely up to you ... not anymore me ...
And now, like a book in the midst of writing ,
I take my pause and lay it aside ...
Explore once more the experience of living ,
notwithstanding the challenges with which it is rife ,
To go out into the expanse and breathe in Life,
with all its joys and promise of all possible good ...
I look forward and onward to my just due...
As for love, I hope it will encompass that too ...

Have you heard...?

Have you heard…?
Tell me, have you heard what people say
To those whose loved ones pass away,
And the pain that won’t allay,
Persist for years and years?
Get over it!

Seriously, have you heard what some allege
About their vows when they did pledge
To love until a ripe old age,
Till Death erase their cares?
Don’t believe it!

Sadly, I have heard that love can die
With little warning it slips by…
In life, in death - I can’t tell why -
And leaves behind such tears.
I’ve seen it.

About this poem:
Love can die for different reasons. Two reasons are the physical loss of a loved one and the emotional loss of a 'once-loved' one. Both can be traumatic.
