Pretty Fine Day

Verse I

Woke up this mornin',
And that's always a plus.
Still up on top of,
The ashes and the dust.
No indications,
That I have woke up dead.
Guess it's okay to,
Get on up out of bed.

Chorus

It's a pretty fine day,
When I'm not feelin' too sad.
It's a pretty fine day,
When the pain is not too bad.
It's a pretty fine day,
When the wolves are all at bay.
Overall I gotta say,
That this is a pretty fine day.

Verse II

Up on my feet, yeah,
Both legs still workin' too.
Head to the kitchen,
I got coffee to brew.
Not on the street and,
There's plenty food to eat,
Just count my blessings,
I'm not yet in defeat.

Verse III

Got through the day with,
No new catastrophies.
No wants or warrants,
So I'm still runnin' free.
And if I'm sinkin',
The hole is not that deep.
No worries now as,
I drift on off to sleep.

A Time for Letting Go

My one constant companion,
Throughout my adult life.
But soon to be abandoned,
One dark and dreary night.

Been through almost ev'rything,
Together thick and thin.
I can't begin to tell you,
The places we have been.

I know that I will yearn for,
This friend that I have loved,
Time has come for moving on,
Now push has come to shove.

What must be will be, although,
I'll miss my friend, you bet.
Now at last the time has come,
For my last cigarette.

Mirror

Senseless in the sense that I feel hopeless yet I can’t imagine how it feels to be the one that is

Monuments of what I wish I was and images of what I wish I wasn’t

Simplicity is definitely the most complex apprehension that there is

And Flaws are just regiments

Futile in the logic that I feel bleak yet I can’t dream about how it feels to be the one that is

I tell the one that I care about that I may conceive an ailment that is life threatening and a smile lingers on his face

I stop and wonder maybe I am to be a comedy

But the breeze slapped me ridiculously and Heat of anger replaced my sudden thoughts apprehending what the gesture may indicate

Meaningless in the sense that I feel fruitless yet I can’t visualize how it feels to be the one that is

And by my window I am then a smile across my face appears I lift myself up and walk away

A chimera I made it and sound was everything once more.

About this poem:
It is about one that feels pain and sees it in others yet feels it difficult at the same time for the individual to accept it making excuses for the feelings that is present and stating that the issues are nothing as the ones others have to face.

in the shower

standing there with the water
spraying down hot in winter
cooler in the heat of August
just standing there cascading

my mind flowing metaphorically
washing away the tensions that
stick to your body throughout
long days of demands and needs

little globules of tension ringing
the drain circling as nearing
the black hole of plumbing fixtures
vanishing forever, to another dimension

head down, looking past my body
to the rest I so long for, I stand
for a long time, flows of nothingness
washing over me, emptying my mind

I can imagine the water oozing
into the crevices of my brain
seeping through all my thoughts
cleansing my emotions too

little wonder that we arose from
oceans primordial to stand
the land and wander life on toe
yet always return to the washes

the whole world presses it's foot
gently on the pedal and begins to
slow down to thoughts of breathing,
and feeling, and caring, and loving

Goddam Whiskey

Stick to the reliable sorts
No need for fancy labels
Or superficial exteriors

Twelve years aged in oak
Is often worth the time
And reflected in the price

This Goddam whiskey
I'm sorry I ventured to try
I got what I paid for

Better still, at least
Than cheap sherry wine
Which tastes like gasoline

About this poem:
I like to sample a bit, but I also prefer to be economical, so I commit to a fifth (750ml for you metric types!) at a time.

Great when it all goes well, but having that amount of a poor drink can really bring a fellow down. :) Oh well, nothing ventured, nothing gained!

body body body

those curves
those edges
those sharp and sexy eyes

come on over here
you man of men
your touch might make me die

i love to dance
i love to move
i love to laugh and cry

come on over here
you man of men
and be with me tonight

mouse

my angel wrote again today
I learned more, of what she was facing
her spirits had risen, yet I came away
great fear in my soul, my mind faster racing
I mused of a world
without mouse by my side
was barren and lifeless
laid down and I cried
my tears were flowing
for I hold her so dear
I can yet see her face
in my mind's beam so clear
I told her I worry
of the danger I see
but you know my mouse
she thought only of me
could we but be in a place
that all dreams come true
where we hold one another
ever time passes through
I bow in deep gratitude
that we're still together
may we hold fast in love
for now and forever

another log on the fire

Airborne embers take flight
Wire screen back in place
Book pulled from the shelf
Foot-rest in place
Wing back chair comfort right.

Sketched orange flame echoes
Round brandy glass in reach
On the night air rides hoot
Of an owl an howling wolf.

Rocks break the water of the creek in the back
Moon takes a rest on the flat of the lake
Sip of brandy
Turn a page
Peaceful warmth
All's in place~

Asperger Syndrome

I am an AS person
I am like the sun
I write poems and stories
And never make anyone worry
I use to be picked on in the past
But that didn’t last
People think I’m crazy
But I’m not lazy
