Fighting the Good Fight

I wage my war on Satan with my Bible,
I scare the whinging Liberals with my gun.
I go to church on Sunday when I’m able,
I hunt and shoot God’s critters just for fun.

The good book tells us what becomes of sinners,
be they atheist, abortionist or gay.
The God fearing and righteous will be winners,
the rest will burn in hell on judgement day.

For the cause of God’s law we must fight,
but only if you’re Christian, Republican and white.

ALONE VS LONELY

You can be alone but not lonely
You can be lonely but not alone
Being both is not a fun place to be
I know because been there you see

There are days that the pain is deep
Wanting something that I can’t see
Wondering just what it would take
To rid this feeling when I’m awake

I can be in a crowd of people all day
But the feeling never goes away
Or I can be walking alone in the rain
My thoughts full of sorrow and pain

Either way at times life can be hard
The pain causing invisible scars
Others don’t see or able to understand
So I smile at them and pretend life is grand

SMILE....Once Again.....

Clouds drop away, expose sparkling day
At times in life, for happy times we pay
Was it sudden, or dawning came slow
Emotions left, leaving no inner glow

Clouds can come fast, cover what's been
Aware what happened, what you'd seen
Denial..... what your eyes so briefly saw
Your ears heard clearly, closing doors

Many times in life, we'll have to admit
With no safe period, before we commit
Allowing heart-head, to join together
Balance for life, free from tethers

Physical and mental ties, can restrain
Hidden tears, suddenly fall like rain
Experience can't save us, from pain
Taught time heals, then smile once again

Love in many forms, family-lover-friend
As does hate, no helping hand you lend
Allowing to cross lines, no guarantee
Take steps slowly, timing the key

With love comes passion, not caution
Never served in equal portions
We cannot select, if in love we fall
Fate takes control, without any rule....

Mismatches, will constantly occur
Causing problems, for him or her
We have to smile, encountering pain
If experience, is our only gain......

CHANGING CIRCLE.

Around the lake edge, a circle to walk
Some with a friend, laugh and talk
Others like solitude, adsorbing the scene
Lake sparkling blue, surrounded by green

Little rest areas, signposted to assist
Those taking a break, some will resist
Refreshing bodies, taking in the view
Smiling at strangers, acknowledged on cue

A track not a footpath, allows all to walk
Or cycle if careful, where high above a hawk
Swoops-floats, enjoys being alive and free
Above a nature reserve, dotted by trees

Boats skim water, hired for a short time
Whether fishing or sailing, on a day so fine
Families or solo can relax, recharge in fresh air
Sharing nature's beauty, with other who care.

A gift not packaged, by shiny baubles- bows
Just nature's flowers, seasonal wind will sow
Rubbish bins-warnings, remind not to leave
Making others waste time, when collect-retrieve......

My Love Is Without Light

Dark is in my life
The Light from you is gone
You Brought light into my life
I bring dark with me
You are the light
I was the dark
The brightness of life is in you
In me is the depth of darkness
You are Joy of love
I am sadness of loss
What we feel changes
It will never be the same
I am that cause
Did you recover from the loss
Did you lose so much
Did you notice
What we had was true
I did not fight to keep it
No, I pushed it away from me
I could not accept the love that you gave to me
At this point in time, will you give your love to me
It took me to long understand that I needed to accept your love into my heart to hold
I pushed it away

About this poem:
I feel that this poem is about the loss of a great love of my life, I was too young to understand how much this women truly meant to me until the moment I had lost her. Now that I know who I am I will take hold of love and not allow it to stop away for the fact of being scared of love. I will embrace love with my heart and not let go.

Promises, Promises.

Promises, promises, all you give are promises.
Issuing such sweet, alluring dirty lies,
Building up my hopes for a better tomorrow.
That will only lead to great sorrow.

Constantly telling me how you will make things better,
How you are such a righteous, unstanding go getter.
Tell me again how much richer, wiser and healthier I will be,
If only to your secret plans I will unconditionally agree.

You instruct me to follow you blindly about,
Never to questions or show any doubt,
Your endless devious drivel gets repeat every day
Telling me never to wander from your path or to stray.

You shout from the roof tops, and whisper in my ear.
That I should blame this one or that one for all that I fear.
You take from my pocket with such stealth.
To ensure I can' have wealth.

You grip my soul, my very being in your hand,
To squeeze out my essence, every last strand.
You wish me to crawl and beg at your feet,
Whilst you tell me one more great myth or deceipt.

Is breaking my spirit your ultimate goal?
Slowly draining the dignity from my very soul?
I am to become your obediant slave?
For the rest of my life until the grave?

Should I be grateful for the few scraps you distainly give?
Is this the way I am now meant to live?
Crushed and destoyed by your cruel lies.
Of a the better life, of endless blue summer skies.

Is this bitter tale about a spitefull love?
Is it a divine cruel beauty that I dare speak ill of?
A siren singly sweetly, luring me to my doom?
What person or thing could cause such dire gloom?

It is not of just one person these lines do speak,
They instead tell of the ignorance and arrogance of a constant sneak.
That orders me to give up every last cent.
It Is My cruel lying Government!

The Songthrush Song

It's funny how we go about, like ships in the night
Wondering Did I do this right or Did I hurt somebody's Heart?
Do people love to share or are they too afraid?
We often think we are estranged and yet this person, that person
Yearns for fellowship

The nighttime comes all mercy gone
What is the answer pray
And then a song thrush clears it's throat
To welcome this new day

Whatever was I thinking of, what darkness came to lurk?
To dampen my ardour and steal my precious joy
Oh, Take care my friend,Let's leap the ravene of sorrow
We'll land afresh and say, "What's this?"
The songthrush sings," It's Yesturday's Tomorrow!"

i was floating on a cotton bud

i was floating on a cotton bud high up in the sky,
when an angel flew by, and asked me ‘hey, why?’
there’s so much work that needs to be done
here on this earth, so many issues. everyone!

i told the light creature, that i’d had enough,
of humans who’re selfish, uncouth and so rough.
for all his intelligence, man has ruined this world
with plastic, and warheads, and hatred unfurled.

look at the environment, the seas. even space.
the murder of forests, and oceans’ deface.
dead satellites in orbit, we now call space junk,
what’s there to shout about, this planet is sunk!

so the angel got busy, to turn me around,
from my floating carriage, in silent surround.
go back my dear fellow, to the sins of the world,
but look at the goodness, your vision unfurled.

the birds in the skies, chirping and singing away,
the great humpbacks of the oceans, a sight on any day.
the lord of the jungle, with his mighty roar,
and the graceful gazelle, we all love and adore.

there are good people, if you really care to look,
not in the bible, the koran or any other holy book,
but just look around you, and marvel and see
happy children’s faces from any degree.

for that aught be the reason, to strive and to toil,
and make this earth safer for them to grow tall,
the beauty of love, and the tests we must solve
to get goodness remembered, and bad to resolve.

so i floated down gently on the same cotton bud
and got off my carriage, with ne’er a thud.
and looking around me, i was in this room
chockfull of children, and no elbowroom…..

all colours, all sizes. all smiling. .... no gloom.

Unsure

Oh life,
Is it to be my path?
Is her path to remain hidden?
Will she see the embers?
Or do ashes cover embers?
Will the waning warmth,
of a weary heart, light her way?

Oh love,
Is hope worth the pain?
Can hope survive the lashing
of cold relentless doubt?
Hours or days?
Should I approach as bold
Or will she turn into my night?

Unsure,
My stare seen as intent to stalk,
My smile seen as desperation,
My approach as attack,
Where attraction lies,
I leave it lie,
And miss opportunity so.

Rise and Shine

It crept upon me slowly
one dawn on nightmare street,
silent calls in cushioned halls
of every room to peek

Lost among the shadows
captive by the trance,
to see another world beyond
the music and the dance

Tracked the call of nature
passed every blade of grass,
felt the wound of heartache
amongst the shattered glass

Fragments of a story
forgotten by the years,
memories of love displayed
around this scattered sphere

Saw the soul of longing
reflecting eyes, I knew,
amidst an open broken heart
your light of love
shone through!
