Hi
I'm Talking Tina
And I Love You Very Much
I would love you even more if you buy me a Ken Doll
And also buy me a pink Volkswagon Beetle
Buy me lots of accessories
Like a pink guitar
Clothes, shoes, a pink house
There was a guy who wasn't nice to me
And you know what happened to him
I'm Talking Tina
And You Better Be Nice to Me!

You died two days ago
I started listening to you in 1993
When Bill Clinton was our president
You made a lot of sense
Even though I had voted for him
Thinking that he was better than Bush
I should have voted for Ross Perot
You made fun of him too
I bought both of your books
The Way Things Ought To Be and See I Told You So
I have a collection of your early parody songs
My favorite bit is on the Rodney King story
Instead of Denny's, it's Reginald Denny's
He was the truck driver that pulled out of his truck during the LA riots
"We love Reginald Denny's, the kid's think it's a riot!
Yeah, I really enjoy the(sound of a gunshot)
At Reginald Denny's we take the eggs, rip them out of their shells
And beat them for you
And at Reginald Denny's we take out the yolks and beat only the whites

Gazing into your eyes one enters a trancelike state. Easily captured by this wellspring of gripping allure, one teeters on the edge. But, the edge of what? For to fully enter such unmapped crossing may approach a leap of faith. What is to be discovered with a final surrender? I never found out. Nor was I ever intended to. It was not my spring of a young man's fancy. But the moment brought me to recall those moments of splendor in the grass. A brief interlude. Now, a sweet memory...

Jack Frost decorates the woodlands each year,
For traditional festive history,
In shades of silver and twinkling white,
His reasons steeped in mystery,
Shiny spider webs like garlands of lace,
Adorn the churchyard fence,
A place fit to welcome our baby King,
Or for souls seeking recompense,
I tracked his footprints in the white crunchy field,
Until strangely further on there were none,
He must have vanished with the onset of dawn,
And the unbearable warmth of the sun,
He showed his anger in the hungry birds,
In the leaves that darkened the skies,
Yet they defied him dancing in the wind,
While falling to a watery demise,
His breath I felt ...that icy breeze,
In this snowy Winter dream,
As I stumbled and slipped on the frozen pond,
I heard his giggles in the gurgling stream,
Tip toeing home now to light the fire,
I'm sure Jack gloats with glee,
I did'nt find him in person today,
But I'm frozen...he surely found me.

I sleep with thee and wake with thee,
And yet thou art not there;
I fill my arms with thoughts of thee-
And press the common air.
Thy eyes are gazing upon mine
When thou art out of sight,
My lips are always touching thine
At morning, noon, and night.
I think and speak of other things
To kept my mind at rest,
But still to thee my memory clings
Like love in woman's breast.
I hide it from the world's wide eye
And think and speak contrary;
But soft the wind comes from the sky
And whispers tales of Mary.

"How much do I love thee?"
A poet one time asked;
His answer was an awesome thing
As in a lover's glow he basked.
Now I don't speak at all like that
Fancy words don't come my way;
I find simple words the best
For things I have to say.
"How much do I love you?"
Well, Old Shakespeare he may say;
"I love you as the morning dew
Doth love the brand new day".
"And how strong are my feelings?"
He's probably say with glee;
"My love is strong enough to bind
My soul with that of thee".
And I wonder what Old Bill would say
About how long my love would last;
'Til both earth and time stand still
They sure spoke fine in days gone past.
I wish I had those fancy words
To tell about my love;
I even hit my knees and asked
For help from up above.
My hands are cool and chilly
As I try to find a word;
I even asked the old folks
For any phrase they may have heard.
They just laugh at me
And say, "Just go give him a kiss
You're going to have a heart attack
If you keep on like this".
But I've got to get this message right
You simply have to know
How my heart feels so deep inside
And how I need you so.
I'll love you for forever
My love is so strong and true;
My love's so big my heart may burst,
These things I'd say to you.
But I'm not a fancy poet
So I'll just say I love you;
I'll leave the fancy words to someone else
Just say you'll love me too.

I sent poison ivy to the femme fatale across the street
She sent me death cap mushrooms
I'm holding her cat to ransom
until she returns my lawnmower
She burnt down my mailbox
..Its love, I can feel it..

February
A desperate frost
On the sharp edge of ice.
In the palm of your hand: thorns
Of roses,
Slightly contrived neurosis
And melt water.
February
A premonition of spring.
In your heart:
A winter longing
And dreams of April
