dreams

my dreams take me beyond the sun,to a land beyond. saber tooth lions, caves galore a streems slumber to wake no more. my dreams take me to the moon where romance,is a dance between butterflys amongst the willow trees. my dreams take me to the stars vast dark sea where the abyss i can see. my dreams take me every where and yet no where.

Eternity

There lies a portal deep beneath
the silent sands of time,
an entrance to life's journeys
with some reason, little rhyme.
It reappears and disappears,
it waxes and it wanes.
It contemplates and correlates
the common and insane.

Some seconds and some centuries
may pass while you await,
the openings and closings
of this celestial gate.
You'll never know when it may show
for them or you and me,
Euclidean equations of life's
passage--don't you see?

Don't hesitate, don't ruminate
walk confidently through
engaging in the mysteries
created just for you.

Angel of The Night

She calls to me in my dreams
Lures me outside at night
Hiding amongst the shadows
Keeping out of sight

The howling winds carry
Her whispers through the air
I hear her words
I know she's out there

The dark enchantress beckons
Through the branches of the trees
I feel myself being pulled in
By the evening's breeze

But why won't she show herself
What does she have to hide
She doesn't come to me
She summons me outside

There must be some reason
Why she comes to my place
But tonight is the night
We meet face to face

It's time to find out
What she wants with me
It's time to discover
What she doesn't want me to see

So I venture off into
The woods behind my house
Determined to end
This game of cat and mouse

Deeper I searched
Observing each shadow
One of them had to be her
But how would I know

She's got to be nearby
I don't have any doubt
There's nothing more I could do
So I called out

Please show yourself
This is going to far
Why are you hiding
Show me who you are

The shadows converged
And started to swirl
Manifesting into
A gorgeous girl

I couldn't believe what I was seeing
This has to be one of my dreams
But I was wide awake
As crazy as it seems

You're so beautiful I said
I thought you would be a horror
Tell me why you haven't
Shown yourself before

She smiled at me
And took a deep breath
I belong to the shadows
I am born from death

Your moon is my sun
Your dreams are my reality
We could only be together
Through your fatality

But you say you see my beauty
And I see yours as well
I couldn't ask you to submit
To the toll of death's bell

Never have I seen more kindness
In one person's heart
You remain compassionate
In a world that's falling apart

Every time I see you
I shed a tear
I want you in my world
But you're needed here

I couldn't believe it
As I looked into her eyes
But her words were true
She didn't tell any lies

But you know I live
Here on my own
Every single night
I sleep alone

I'm willing to forfeit
This existence I call life
I'd end it now
With the injection of a knife

I try to be kind
But the world is my enemy
I give all I've got
And it gives me misery

She smiled and said
That kindness brought me to you
As much as I want you
Your time isn't through

I promise you this
There will come a day
When we will be together
And we will get away

Until that day comes
Remain who you are
Although we're worlds apart
I'll never be too far

Her black wings engulfed me
Encasing me tight
She kissed my lips then whispered
My sweet love, good night

As I woke up to the dawn
In my hand was a dark feather
A symbol of her promise
That we will one day be together

Dragon Poems

Morning

Soaring far above the trees
Quicker than the eye can see
On wings of crimson, gold or green
A flight of creatures rarely seen

Bold before the morning sun
Earth-bound fauna freely run
Unaware of danger nigh
Circling down from morning skies

All is clear from where they stand
There is no movement on the land
And so they stop, to catch their breath
And one of them to meet his death

Suddenly a talon’s grasp
Brings a young buck’s final gasp
The others scatter and take to heel
As a dragon has its morning meal

Lunch

The tell-tale flash of colors bright
Tells a tale not often heard
Rushing down from unseen heights
Faster than a hunting bird

Frozen mornings warmed to noon
Shadows hide from suns swift rise
Mid-day should be coming soon
Bringing light to tired eyes

Wandering past a quiet stream
A mountain goat surveys the field
And wonders what the colors mean
Not knowing that his fate is sealed

One gem-toned speck has moved around
Reflected in a pool of water
And circled, oh so slowly down
Preparing for a lunch-time slaughter

Talons sink into his back
Teeth crunch through his spine
A goat is quite a tasty snack
For the dragon’s hungry kind

Dinner

Evening falls and shadows lengthen
Darkness starts to spread its wing
Windows light where smoke trails strengthen
And frogs begin their nightly sing

Far from house and farm and field
Across a river, running slow
A meadow with a gate is sealed
And fated cattle start to low

Soon a colored mote appears
Descending surely as the sun
A cow’s last cry that no one hears
The dragon’s dinner has begun

About this poem:
I wrote this set of poems after writing a set of children's stories about friendly, or at least non-hostile dragons. I felt I needed to get in touch with a dragon's real nature.

The Feast

“It’s time to feed,” said she
With a wicked grin
As her fangs she exposed

By moonlight’s glint
He could see
Saliva dripping from

Cool breeze blew
Through the woods
Froze sweat on his brow

His legs were leaden
And his terror rose
Unable to escape

The moon up high
Behind clouds hid
From the ghastly scene below

When she finished
Her lips she licked
Was rather a pleasant feast

Fame

Look at me!
Look at me!
Tell me you're happy what you see!
I was on your tv
I was on your computer
Dream about me as your suitor
Buy my music
Buy my dvd
Let me fill your world with glee
It will make you so happy
Just pay attention to me
Give me positive praise
Then my ego will be raised
Talk about me to your friends
Come to my concerts now and then
Ask me for my autograph
Afterwords we can talk and laugh
Tell me about the funny scene from that movie you saw me in
I don't get tired of hearing about it again and again
The truth is I love it when you talk about me
It's the one thing that fills me with glee
And let's not forget about all the money!

soulless

White stone
Cold to touch
Hard shell
Smooth to touch

Marbled vains
Heavy stone
Carved
Shaped moulded

To human form
Giants of the after life
Faces bodies
Soulless

Cast in stone

Cosmic Dances

Embedded image from another site

Gliding through the universe
Ancient galaxies our birthright
Devant’ moons that light the night
Stars glissade' as we traverse

Souls upon a magical journey
Bathed in sweet tendu' honey
Among Lyra the bright star Vega
Appears Alphas and Omegas

Allegro bodies whirl like cyclones
Releve' consciousness within
Mirrored in crystal birthstones
Etching life upon our skin

Spirits dance in cambre' capture
Encompassed in awesome rapture
Hearts sashaying loves forevers
Dancing under en le aire’ feathers

Peace in daily prayers today
Mantras chant, replay, envelope’
The souls eternal promenade' of stars
Arabesque to sounds of stringed sitars

Feel the love connecting us
To eternal particles ubiquitously
With eyes of eagles we see cosmically
Reaching pirouette heights collectively

Electrons moving at near speeds of light
All ready now the dance in sight
A cosmic ballet of twilight
Port-de-bras delight
Tonight

The End

Slowly she walked amongst the ruins
The dead at her feet were scattered
Ground was soaked with the guilty's blood
Not one knew what had hit them

In every direction her eyes were cast
The bodies were grotesquely twisted
Faces contorted in last agonies scream
As they hung on to life in final seconds

Not one human on this earth moved
Each and every spark had been extinguished
In five years or six and not much more
No trace left that humankind had existed

And still she walked amongst the dead
Her heart so heavy with sorrow
So many centuries mankind had thrived
It took her but seconds to end it

The canker so deep had corrupted all
For none there was redemption
Time and time she had tried to cure
But in vain were all her efforts

A tear of regret trickled down her cheek
For this had been her beloved creation
Maybe another time, another world
She'd create another in her image

About this poem:
What if God finally gave up on us ... what if he/she decided the disease ran too deep ... interesting thought ... this is not meant to upset anyone's faith ... it is more along the lines of SF

P H S

I suffer from P H S
A disease most debilitating
My friends and family me they shun
Their embarrassment never ending

Gather round come supper time
I'm left in the corner sulking
"It's not my fault," I try to say
But no-one wants to listen

I dread the time when full moon comes
I lose control of all my senses
Quickly comes upon me the change
No time for tears to be shedding

My body shakes, twists and turns
I turn into this horrid creature
I try to speak but all they hear
Are these sounds I make all garbled

Why is this curse upon me placed
To this I have no answer
While full moon holds sway in the sky
To this monster I keep changing

My beautiful fur has dropped, is gone
Left exposed with pink skin showing
Forced to walk on my hind legs
This feels so terribly unnatural

Oh what I'd give to be cured of this
And no more to be changing
Running free with my pack
And not change into a human

About this poem:
P H S ... This is a rare disease amongst wolves ... It stands for Partially Human Syndrome ... The rare individual when a full moon is evident turns into a human ... The medical profession is working hard to find a cure ... Unfortunately individuals who suffer from P H S are ostracized from their community and in some cases even killed
