The Greatest Gift

The Greatest Gift

What power has anointed me with this fate
and opened wider destiny’s hidden gate?
No greater gift can make a man’s life enliven
than to witness the first gasp of a life given!
What greatness have I perceived to have done
that I, surely unworthy, have this prize won?
Could only true love present this priceless gift
and give a simple man’s soul a heavenly lift?
What greater prize can come any man’s way
than to become a Dad on his own birthday?
Now my daughter rests safe within my eyes
protected from society’s encroaching cries!

Rapture in the Moonlight.

Within the whispered winds of night and the silver dripped tongues of leaves.

Within the solemn boughs of weathered willows

and the twisted toils of twilight's illuminated troves.

Beneath the purple shrouded moon, within the shadowed groves,

I see her glow within the starry sky.

Beneath the icy, luminary stares, the trellised branches in despair,

the gilded tears of dew that drench my dreams,

I lie, within the broken lanterns of the daffodils.

Within the laurels of the bay,

within the crimson roses, tangerines and cherries ripe;

the rapture in the moonlight passes by.

Forever, she shall glow within the starry sky.

Shores.

Outstretched sand embraces, childlike,
the return of an emerald tide.
Sprawled and cracked crustaceans alike
basked shells of yesterday that bide
the slow clamoring of bells inside
the pulsing of Time cannot hide.

The crimson coral drips its blood
to a rhythmic cadence unknown.
Dancing petals of a rosebud
prance beneath gilded stars outshone;
Slain butterflies upon waves glown
reflecting Luna’s violet throne.

Come back to me, the shores that weep
as willows sway night's symphony
with splintered soul caressed asleep.
I mourn my Love's lost company -
her wild heart torn in agony
by the sea's tempestuous villainy.

Alone I beckon Love’s pilgrim
knelt before the luminous shore.
I hear the choired seraphs hymn
with all that heaven's grace implore!
The love within could not restore
and wept and wept forever more.

The Almond Tree.

The old moon dances alone
beneath the bellowing boughs
of an almond tree. Windblown
rustled leaves in somber soughs,
whisper to the night watchman
life's eternal recurrence -
the reaper's unwav'ring sermon
crackling in scuttled vengeance.

The sweet odor of pink flesh
soured with Time's vinegar.
As wilted petals once fresh
whither like weeds and disfigure.

Hollow shells scattered downwind,
crippled like fallen angels
descend with undetermined,
mystical, downward spirals.

Barren lands of lost rapture
rotted beds of bitter husk,
distant dreams won't recapture
the sunshine slain by each dusk.

Yet, death likes to mock and dance
amongst the darkest of rain.
Silently the Sun shall advance
to slay the fool with hook'd cane.

And through each passing cycle
branches still stretch in the breeze.
Upon the wings of St. Michael
they ascend to the stars with ease.

Oh, unrivaled stars above!
Illuminate life's erection!
Shower light beloved Jove
upon this resurrection!

Beetles beneath heaven's gate
feasting with mouths full of feces.
Drenched with soiled milk they wait
to birth a feculent species.

About this poem:
This is a rather dark piece of verse...the world was becoming evermore nihilistic and decadent or so I imagined in my own perceptions. I used the symbol of an almond tree because it is one of the first trees to flower in the spring and is thus the symbol of re-birth. At first the tree wrestles with fall and winter beneath the watchful eye of the moon...as we are in darkness and decadence...however, eventually all things whether good or evil will come to an end...eventually the sun will rise and even death is cyclical and can be defeated. Only to return to decadence and sh*t. Basically we create our own wasteland...and will continue to do so.
But that was only a momentary thought and inspired only these ridiculous verses.

Forever be your baby

I love the smell of your skin
the way you love me deep within
how you hold me so gentle in your embrace
I want to be with you forever
I need to be close to you- leave you never
just as long as will have me
I'll forever be your baby
the first time I met you, I knew
that I could love you- I love you
I never regreted anything except for times
without you- without you
Oh can it be, you feel the same way
like everyday without eachother is a wasted day
You are a ray of light, to light my way
and even through my most darkest day
I know you'll be there to catch me when i fall
for i know you love me after all..after all
I want to be with you forever
need you close.. leave you never
just as long as you'll have me
I'll forever be your baby- forever be your baby

Amber Red

What a wonderful LIFE this would be,
If they hadn't changed our humanity.
There are patterns layed before our eyes,
That if OBSERVED will not deny.
To speak our mind is one thing all together,
The SEED of which is COURAGE,
It sometimes fetters.
You may say,"I want to broaden my view."
There are TRUTHS that will HURT you.
Truths that when realized,
Will cut as if buttered with prideful dispise.
For when a speaker is in front of you,
Speaking on things THEY KNOW are untrue,
They will turn a certain hue,
Trying to pass those bits off as true.
Look at the face AMBER RED,
Take into context what's being said,
Add it all up,
UNBIASED nor PROUD.
This is what separates the truth from the shroud.
Be very patient to get it right,
You will see it as true as light!

About this poem:
I wrote this after alot of contemplating on my observations of watching people talk to one another and to me... And after noticing patterns in those that cannot keep their composure, faces flushing, it made me contemplate what makes our faces flush one second and become natural the next, and I came up with three reasons for our faces to become flushed, 1) embarassment, 2) anger(that's more in the forhead), and 3) lieing. When we're over hot we flush as well, though it's constant until we cool off, not there one second and gone the next.
Anyways that is what my poem is about, the rest you can figure out.

The learning tree

Oh wise and wonderful learning tree
Please teach me what the creatures see
Is it true what people say
The wisest often learn that way
Give us all strength to learn and grow
From baby to adult
Right up to we're old
You are wise and wonderful now
So stand up tall and take a bow

I gave me to you

Beg for a while
before you play again
Empty your heart
let go of the things you fear
Undress me and
lock me away from my mind
Why can't I have
a vacation from myself

I wish I was you

Upside down
and pressed against your will
Broken words
spoken inside your head
Turn away from me
you feel so much better now
You know me
like the maze you live in

I gave this to you

Drain yourself
before you stay with me
Close me out
spend some time alone

Earth sun and Moon

The Earth Sun and Moon where discussing one day, why can't we all go out to play,
The Earth said to the Sun "I can come out with you, during the day, but with you Moon it will be night time I'll have to say"
With that thought the Moon did reply "why can't we all meet at the same time in the sky"
With his head in his hands the Sun did say "we can at some point, not now, maybe someday"
"When will that be" the Moon said with glee "in many years time when we are all aligned"
Many years passed, and as promised at last, all three were aligned, and they all had a blast.

I hear

the words of hope and the words of pain

the words of life or the words of death

all the voices tied to together to loud to understand.

all the words seem so meaningless even when people try it make them mean the world

the world of words and lies smiles and fake friends

i hear them say they are great but they are worthless in the worlds eyes.

i not only see the pain but i hear the children cry for only a good home.

the voice of the broken and the hopeless trying to find their own words for the world to hear read and see.

I hear the whole world cry as we all fall to our own death often of our own choice maybe by reasoning of what the world wants us to be
