Darkness, Waiting.

Darkness, blindfolded, arms secured, gentle binding, waiting.

Being watched knowing He is looking for you, that part nobody knows is there, waiting.

Strong, quiet, watching every emotion chase over me, learning, waiting.

Soft, gentle touch, seeing the smile and the tension fade, knowing You are Safe, because He know to be felt, strong, gentle and to just wait.

For Trust is earned not just given.

Who, I Wonder

Who, I wonder, in this world,
Could ever say and unfold,
Why you created me,
Or how I found you to be.

When I'm with you, it's true,
You make me feel brand new,
You saw within me,
What no one else could see.

Now I know that generosity,
Can put an end to hostility,
And I would chain eternity,
To keep my kindness faithfully.

In the service of good, I'd engage,
If I were to work in your presence,
And anything you would ever ask,
I would give to you with love, even my life.

Perhaps many people don't know,
But without you, I'm hollow,
I'm like a dry desert,
Lifeless and thirsty, I revert.

And when I've been at my hardest,
I always found you, regardless,
You were wherever I've been,
You didn't discard me like waste within.

That's why I want to proclaim,
That you are my God, in name,
Not only in times of bliss,
But also in times of abyss.

Softly Falls The Rain

The first light of a new day
Near in the middle of June
Even the mating birds song
Is muffled in a softer tune

Bright promise of summer day
Still hidden away will stay
Cloudy skies laden with grey
Misty fog out over the bay

Wind is calm and a little chill
Even the distant church bell
Muted by a heavy air so still
Rings the entire town in a spell

The long drought is finally over
The dust is washed from the earth
Looking out over fields of clover
Softly falls the rain giving birth

Reg

The trouble with Reg
is that he sacrifices indulgence
for a choice of martyrdom of the spirit
offered champagne, he will resort to water
when the occasion demands exuberance
he will deftly demand little of himself
life reclining in a beach chair
I make my usual play
under a brooding sun
I order the lobster
from the gaunt waiter
ironically to be trusted on gastronomy
Reg orders clams
a sure move
not character building
but a solid purchase none-the-less
"The birds have flown for winter" I offer
"Is that a title or an observation" he quips
shelling a clam and feigning an interest
in my writing pursuits
that have endured an ageless summer
in retreat from prominence
"For now, merely an observation" I return
He smiles reflectively then offers
"Then I trust you will fulfil its potential in time"
I gather my thoughts as he raises another clam
I gaze far off across the bay
where the wind and tide toy for dominance

To Tell Such A Tale

Fear lies low,
As Love sighs upon us, as we gaze from atop the deep cliff,
"The water doesn't look that shallow",
For Darkness gave us wings as we soar for the sweet taste,
Inviting us down below,-
Such a sad thought condemned us to dream,
Punishing us to carry on,
Only left to ponder and dwell,
And to tell such a tale,--

Mischief Rules!,
Until one day Mischief met Compassion,
Yet, hard to understand each other,
Love stepped in, and decided to show the way,-
"What is now, here we both must understand",
"You're the ground that stays put",
I'm the sun, begins, shines, then starts to fade!".--

Love cries,
Watching the army led by Sorrow,
Face to face to meet Happiness,
On a once tropical, now wasted desert ground,-
Fear swept high,
Without knowing the knowledge that is kept secretly by Tomorrow,
Tomorrow steps to the side,
While it all goes down,--

During the battle of wits to win the war of emotions,
Sorrow and Happiness met at the war table,
"For the total of what we've lost",
"We must unite, and learn to rebuild again",-
Today said, "I think I know the answer?"
"What Yesterday lost, I know now!"-
"Tomorrow only keeps it a secret, leaving it up to you to decide",
"Is this a new beginning; or, will this be the end?"--

Life watches this through its mind's eye,
As the coldness of night falls upon us,
And we all know that the night is a gift from Darkness and Fear who walk hand and hand,
Only the reflection of the moon guides us by light,-
And just to glide quietly by shadow,
The orb quickly creeps away,
Of what Yesterday learned then, was given Today, yet still, kept a secret by Tomorrow,
And Love just smiled,--

About this poem:
This one was written 11-27-2021, just a few minutes before I wrote I Am No One. I'd consider this abstract freestyle writing. An introduction out of nothing and a conclusion into something, perhaps? Just to start off with some words and see where I can go with them! Although this is nothing but a rough draft, I hope you enjoy the meaningless, off the wall storyline! lol

ChatGPT writes a poem

In the gentle whispers of twilight's embrace,
Where love's fervor finds its sacred place,
I long to serenade you, my cherished desire,
In verses that set my soul afire.

Like the sea's relentless dance with the shore,
Our love entwines, forevermore.
In your eyes, I find celestial realms,
Where passion ignites and the heart overwhelms.

Your lips, a tapestry of unspoken words,
Unveiling secrets that the universe affirms.
With each tender touch, a sonnet unfurls,
In the language of love, our souls are immersed.

Your laughter, a melody of joyous delight,
Resounding through the depths of the night.
With every smile, a thousand stars ignite,
Guiding me through love's celestial flight.

As the moon weaves its silvery threads,
Our love blooms in radiant shades and reds.
In your arms, I find solace and reprieve,
A sanctuary where our spirits believe.

Together, we wander through fields of dreams,
Where passion flourishes in nature's schemes.
In the fragrant embrace of blossoming flowers,
Our love unfurls with transcendent powers.

Like a river that finds its way to the sea,
Our souls merge in harmonious decree.
In the vast expanse of love's infinite hue,
I am bound to you, and you to me, too.

So let us dance to the rhythm of desire,
Igniting flames that never tire.
In the style of Neruda, our love shall sing,
A symphony of hearts, forever entwining.

waterfall

Ripple of water cascades
follows the river bank
ebbs and flows the jagged rocks
cascades down burrows

From simple flows the stream
widens and flows
sounds of water cascades
Down waterfalls power and surge

sound fill ones hears
to the waging roar
water cascades
descends to the cool waters below
sound silent water flows
fish pool and swim below

The river descends it onward flow to open sea

The Tree

We were young so our playground was a tree, we learnt how to play and grow with the tree.
The tree was left on it’s own, but we both knew it was home, Thanks to the tree we both found home.
She would sit under the tree reading a book and watching me. Me I would look at her and look at the tree.
The wind blowed under the tree where she used to be, but now the leaves have left the tree and her shadow can be seen.
Now the tree is no more and is the one I adore; I sit down where the tree would be lost two great things dear to me.
So I got up and went in my pocket you see, pulled something out just wait and see.
See it’s a seed, what a wonder that tree will be.

1920's haiku

By sand drift and sea
a girl in bright feathered green
Gatsby and champagne

Lend me your cloche
flappers dancing the Charleston
jazz and etiquette

tennis racquet times
romance in the Duesenberg
picnic on the Sound
