lepidoptera

her soul had yellow paper wings
perched on wind currents
there shone in any direction
too much stillness to move her
an unaccepted form awaited
the small earth with reaching vines
petals in all directions
with nothing else anywhere
she wished to come
to light three candles
in dead night with all directions
gone imbued herself with
something new and fleeting
that eternity for he who waited
for one moment
thus ended his wait
she devoured and departed
cast filament
and her soul shattered

A little some thing I did for save the trees

If I were a tree
Even just for a day
I'd roll out my branches
And breathe in all the carbon dioxide
Drink in all the sun rays
And give all the fresh air away
And I'd never get confronted for it
Cause people they'd stick up for me
If I were a tree
I think I could understand
How it feels to see love
I as it is carved into me
I'd listen to those
Because they talk to me
Cause you were taken for granted
And everything you had got destroyed
If I were a tree
I would shelter you from the rain
Bad weather and be a goal post for your game
You can stand under me
You know that I'd be faithful
Waiting' until the rain stops so you could go home
If I was a tree
I would want to stand tall
I would not want fall
I would give away all the fresh air
So, people could walk, run or stroll
Children could play and birds can sing
And maybe if it was safe people could make a swing
If I was a tree
There would be so much more to me
More than you could ever see
Yes photosynthesis is a real thing
I am a tree
So, please stand up for me
Don’t let me be cut down
Because I cannot produce oxygen from the ground
I am not a tree
I have a voice
I will not let them be knocked down
Because I need oxygen to survive

***

(( Through path of time ))
****
1000 bright days gone
1000 nights appeared
1000 lips begged a kiss
1000 hearts felt love
1000 dreams came true
1000 wishes died
1000 eyes cried
1000 years passed by
*****
But

*****
Sky's still blue
Clouds dance
Dew kisses flowers
Light tempts butterflies
Quietness covers forests
Waves of sea never sleep
Night birds still sing
Sun never stop shining
Moon fascinates eyes
Stars blink eternally
Still nothing changed
***
Except mind of human
*******

a lesson

given to me by elders
who feel they must leave something
just a little different
to have lived for something
a fragment of a leaf
on which is written my name
sold by those who felt the same
who knew not how to ask
where sorrow comes from
why you can't speak of it
and therefore live it
true the form taken
of a dozen few ones
worn by variations
of the same lung and shape
I saw a hundred mice in a lake
terrified of stomping feet
that made leaves fall
to fall was their fate
not one of them great

two snakes wound together
thought they were the
sunlight falling on their cracked warm road
laughing at unlit depths
we advise to burn
your name and not trust wind
our hopeless believer
did you see how they
wrote, hoped, dreamed
and didn't leave one thing
to remember
bought one word
a name
and now it's all they know

there must be a lesson here
so they all think

brothers

brothers
though I have few of you
I will tell you something
if you are young
you may be drawn
unable and unwilling
to her but
you can live without
ever having known her but
once you find one that
shows you her heart you can
no longer be what you
once were and
it is futile to try
and anyway
you won't want to
and it makes no difference
to her to leave you
altered

The Foot Path

My toes touched the sand
beauty
softness
barefeet

I saw footprints

many

I placed my foot in many
some big some small

some steering there some steering over yond

what footprint was I following?
what
was on their mind?

I don't know

but I walked concaved into a
footprint
I wondered who would
walk in mine

AN AUGUST POEM

With our gifts of lovely sight
The August sun shines brillant light
The soft wind plays lively bright
The pale moon paints a sultry night
A romantic sweet cool delight
With cloudless sky, perfectly right,
For moonbeams' radiance of golden white.

Nature Portraits 1 - Waterfall, Thunderstorm

The thunderous roar of a mighty waterfall
cascading down in huge torrents of liquid fury
smashing into the water below
creating mists of water droplets
that transform the sunlight into a rainbow

The awesome power of a thunderstorm at night
with jagged bolts of lightning
that split the darkness
and light up the surroundings
with blinding dazzling intensity

Thoroughbred

I was a girl when I met your kind.
Yours was my first scent of refined,
Cultured class.
Leather and lather.
I am in love with you and your brothers,
The way you strut and prance.
Head high, alert eyes.

Yes, I still look for that confident
Bounce in the stride of your
Working-class cousins.
The flag of majestic strength,
Regal boldness.
Fearlessness.
The walk of a winner.

HAWK.....

As a leaf floats, your outstretch wings
Pure beauty of nature, a heart sings
On currents of air, hover and glide
Visually -effortless, may you ride

Over the hills and valley of life
Sighting of peace, never strife
Freedom to view, heaven to earth
To end of time, from nature's birth

Mesmerized I stand, drink in the scene
Watched before, so know it's no dream
Spectacle of nature, true spiritual gift
Over fields-by ways, may you always drift

Reminding us, of the simple things
That if we give time, birds on a wing
Can show us what living, is all about
Beauty surrounds us, all matters-counts.

About this poem:
as some know I live surrounded by acres of open crop growing land Hawks are not seen here as much as Northland and other rural areas, but even on the outskirts of NZ largest city, they are time stoppers.....
