The Quotes Garden – Poems in two verses - [ III ] - Believe –

The Quotes Garden
*** Part III – Poetic lines in two verses ***
*** Believe – ***

***
“Believe –
True stories weave;
***
Spindle twist,
Beneath thy sleeve; -
***
Quill and ink, -
Epitaphs cleave;
***
Ticking heart,
Pulsing my wrist -
***
Shall I sink,
Silent, to grieve?..
***
Believe, –
Dreams come true!..
***
While me and you,
Within a heave -
***
Two stars blink,
- Adam and Eve;
***
Shadows kissed
- All we have missed…”
***

The Quotes Garden – Poems in two verses - [ II ] - Hurray!..

The Quotes Garden
*** Part III – Poetic lines in two verses ***
*** Hurray!.. ***

***
“Hurray, hurray! –
Sun, bless this day!..
***
Middle of may,
Burnt shadows, fray; -
***
Sweet cherries, sway, -
Tiny girls, play;
***
Hurray, hurray,
Glimpse of a ray!.. -
***
Along the brae,
Shy willows, pray;
***
Sweet dolls of hay, –
Flowers of bay!..
***
All sing, to stay!
Where shall I lay?.. -
***
Bees, in a spray,
- Humming my way:
***
Hurray, hurray!..
- Leaving away…”

The Quotes Garden – Part III - Two verse poems - [ I ] - O, nightingale!..

The Quotes Garden
*** Part III – Poetic lines in two verses ***
*** O, nightingale!.. ***

***
“O, nightingale, –
Merciful beak!..
***
A fairytale,
Where shall I seek?!..
***
Thy voice, so meek, -
My silence’ ,peak;
***
When rising gale,
Follow thine trail, -
***
Wither, or pale,
Lifting the veil;
***
Leaves, on the scale, –
My heart?! A tick!..
***
O, nightingale!
Thy art so frail, -
***
Bless me, to speak!
- Wisest, the snail!..
***
Thy chest, a jail,
- My love, a squeak!..”
***

Fool me

Sharp dresser, slick talker;
Looking like a ‘girls-dem-suga’.
Fool me with your sexy ways,
Spin me til I’m in a daze.

Take my money, spend your own.
Make me hunger, make me moan.
Use your charms to murder me;
Fool me with dishonesty.

Have no mercy, feel no way.
Send me home at the break of day.
Chase me, but know that I’ll be back.
Fool me, because I wisdom lack.

About this poem:
This is about those women who allow themselves to be easily fooled, and abused, by their men….sadly.

To this we belong

When the stars forget it is night
and the air is carved open with scent
then I shall lie with you
as the fields lie open
each gesture a gift
to spurn parting of ways
for on this day
contentment has found me
all the hours pass
like wandering dunes
the sea forever plays
a shanty to our rhythm
to this we must belong

The Quotes Garden – Poems in a verse - [ XXIV ] - Veil

The Quotes Garden
*** Part II – Poetic lines in a verse ***
*** Veil ***

“Thy heart restless chirping my presence.
***
What secrets hide, beloved, canopy of heaven?
***
Lift your eyes; – swathes of high court, clouds in bliss!..
***
- Amid this world, vagueness and haze; thrive forth, -
***
(Ye!..) Fill this empty heart with the sweet pain of missing,
***
- A pale flower, may it fall upon forgotten grave,
***
(Thou -) where you hid me, Edelweiss? Clouds and mist;
***
Gaze to this dazzling log, – it burns. Thine heart, burns!
***
Remove the mask, lift the veil, - love me, or let me perish!..”

The Quotes Garden – Poems in a verse - [ XXIII ] - Ridges

The Quotes Garden
*** Part II – Poetic lines in a verse ***
*** Ridges ***

“Titan’s quest. A basalt murmur shattering squinches.
***
Sky’s drapery falls apart. My sighting, filling scenery;
***
Thy glimpse crushing look; heart’s path is narrow; –
***
- Oh, muse! – Remind me of ridges and furrows of pain,
***
(Nay!..) Fresh waterfalls breaks through from the crest,
***
- As how thy arms stretch an eagle in flight,
***
(Of) where ridges and valleys meet; which rock, hid me?
***
(To) when the slurping echo stops, in which slope, –
***
Of who’s leaning, over the greenery pendentives?..”

The War on Christmas

There is only one and it’s major,
Started by a devil masquerading as saviour.
It is over 5700 miles away,
And to everyone’s horror and dismay,
13000 Ukranian civilians are dead,
Over 7.8 million refugees have fled.
Day after day bombarded,
And plunged into darkness,
Were towns and cities in Ukraine,
by bombs and missiles that maimed,
And turned buildings and streets to rubble,
And its people to dust. This is not us.
We don’t see this kind of trouble.
Not here anyway, Not in the West.
For them there is no rest,
Only a yearning for turning
to former day from endless night.
They see only by candlelight
and the glow of fires burning.
There is no “War on Christmas”
Not here. This is foolishness,
Here there are just many well-meaning folks,
Raising glasses making toasts,
Wether “Merry Christmas “ or “Happy holidays”
May goodwill guide us all our days.

Happy New Year everyone!

Have Mercy on the Animals

Have Mercy on the Animals, they have feelings too.

See the little fawn, move too fast and she'll be gone.
She knows to run away, when the hunter comes to spoil her play.

Have Mercy on the Animals, they have feelings too.
Have Mercy on the Animals, they feel just like we do.

Mother Cow's out in the field, so much milk she can yield.
Father bull he tills the land, providing grain for beast and man.

Have Mercy on the Animals, they have feelings too.
Have Mercy on the Animals, they feel just like we do.

See the birds up in the tree, they also have their families.
Build their nests way up high - just like you they don't want to die.

Have Mercy on the Animals, they have feelings too.
Have Mercy on the Animals, they feel just like we do.

Have Mercy, the mercy will be shown to you.
Have Mercy, and mercy will be shown to you.

First Christmas Morn

The sky was dark with sprinkles of stars
An extra bright star shone from afar
In the silence was a loud baby’s cry
While in the Heavens there was a wonderful sigh

God had come down as a small child
Holy – so tender and mild
Wondrous Angels singing on high
As they hovered in the night sky

Shepherds witnessing the wondrous birth
3 Kings bringing gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh
Our long awaited Savior had been born
On that first beautiful Christmas morn
