Spirits beckon one more time, Be merry and bless my - bourbon wine, I can bleed though you can't see. One more drink - that's all I need,-
Spirits beckon like shooting stars, They were wondering where you are?, You look weary - my dreary friend, One more line - you will live again,-
Spirits beckon with reason and rhyme, Is this a game played in your mind?, Broken, cast outs - they are your friends, And they are here to greet you, At the end.-
Spirits beckon me one more time....

About this poem:
I wrote this 6-1-1998. A slow "dead" drumbeat with bass and easy guitar sound playing, except the solo part(s) I added to this song. But, no matter how good it may sound, you can always change it! lol
Someone once said ‘this game is all in the mind, and the mind is all but a game’ oh yes, twas me, we chase our tails constantly. But there is a way we can be free, don’t take the red, don’t take the blue, just open your mind to what is true. 1: You cannot be what you cannot see. 2: You have to grow to know. 3: You have to know to grow. 4: You have to see ‘this reality’ 5: You come to know that you are me’ And now, you are free!
Adversity can feel like a punctured lung, It makes you want to SCREAM " I Can't Breath" R.I.P George Floyd.. It comes and goes as it pleases. My people have scratched and clawed for an ounce of reasoning.. But what do they say "Just shut up and dribble" Time and time again they have tried to kill the Dreamer but the dream lives on and on .The voices get louder and louder they scream Change,Equality, Progress Over Pride,Me2,Black Lives Matter... I stand even in the darkness like Batman and scream Adversity let my people go!!
Lightning, thunder and dark storms Crown this God forsaken land Just as the meadows Once a landscape of blooms Of butterflies and dandelions Became a haven of the doomed
We walk, caped with fear Worn from the deepest of our souls Ill fated on the very day of our birth We live to die, every second For hatred and ingratitude We are eternally consumed
But there is a way Turn around and change Hardened hearts be softened Replace insults and arrogance Into humility and repentance I know we can, we truly can.
Let go our human frailty Let us thrive and aspire humility Inspire and raise our hands Let us all join our brother's hand Peace and love, joy and compassion A beautiful life to be reckoned.
For each and all, we're brothers and sisters With love and unity, forever, we should be And this doomed and God forsaken land Will once again, be our refuge and heaven. Can we all join each other then So peace, love, happiness is ours again....
Shall we?

About this poem:
Just hoping that after our dark storms are waded away does come, serenity and peace to all.
For love when it binds us all, so does peace and harmony will once again, reign, in our beautiful community, our home and refuge..the one and only POETRY CORNER..
I love you all..thanks for your contributions and comments.
There's a girl on the poster board you can spot her from the bus a small alluring interval on a mediocre ride each day she fades more to blue and grey pigments washing out edges torn and in time she'll be replaced by an advertisement for doughnuts and all the men will silently sigh for there's one less peg holding up the day
Many times I notice that empty space beside or infront of me as I eat my meals and feel this just is no way to be ... Many instances I find something funny and I chuckle, but can't help feel that it can be more of a good roar if he were just here to laugh with me ... and then some more ... Many evenings or nights I can't help but wish, for comfort ... that there's more than the pillow to hug ... in place of a warm living loved one who can respond with his own embrace that would feel so lovingly snug ...
Until he returns back into my arms that miss him so ... I try my best to catch and savor every drop of happiness around me .. And hopefully, with this poem he will surely know... That no problems, distance, or worries can ever make me forget or not see my deep-seated wish for him & I to eventually become that " WE" ...

About this poem:
( inspired by the song For Those of Us Who Can't be Here) featuring UK's Catherine Duchess of Cambridge playing the piano as the song is being sung by British singer Tom Walker in Westminster Abbey ... Christmas of last year ... https://youtu.be/dyXBfAjDj-A )
Put on your top hat, you are the star, the ring master, how long, how far, Let the clowns come in, let the fun begin, see the balancing act, trapeze if you please, sugarcane tastes so good as the magician weaves his spell, will the tightrope walker fall?, who can tell, the dancers will have danced, and you will be….entranced, as the tight rope walker ends the show, it’s time for you to go!
