restless sleep

everyone is born with a beautiful heart
right from the very very start
its the corridors of life
that get you into strife

so be there way

some dark lonely places
reflecting saddened faces
like voids an empty spaces
bad manners an no graces

everyone has a say

or the brightness of light
everything is alright
love is your respite
living a delight

a joy for today

what should be right
is but wrong
is that what changed
where you belong

i can not say

darkness meanders around us all
waiting silently for us to fall
will you walk or will you crawl
grit your teeth or just bawl

no time to play

hope is so far far away
i'm only a child here today
i understand not the words you say
influence is but survival anyway

please can i stay

i ponder on the lives of then
how it affected women an men
whats different between now an when
when solace was seeking a friend

i hope an pray

reasons of life run very deep
secrets for themselves to keep
embracing life or maybe weep
the joy of love or restless sleep

Humanity

Why do we claim we are perfectly sane
while feeling the madness of feeling no pain
killing each other and killing for gain
we're destroying ourselves and dying in shame

Romney's Got a Gun

Romney's got a gun
Romney's got a gun
Sesame Street's come undone
Big Bird is on the run
What did Bird Bird do
Romney said this is your very last I.O.U.
They said when Romney was elected
They found him in the garbage can
Now Oscar lost his home
and the Count is in distress
Romney's said but nobody believes me
We're running up a massive debt
Debt! Debt! Debt! Debt!
Run away
Run away from the Mitt
Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah
Run away
Run away from the Mitt
Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah
Run away
Run away
Run awayayayayayaya
Romney's got a gun
Romney's got a gun
Sesame Street come undone
Every puppet is on the run

About this poem:
With the election coming up and his infamous answer to what he would cut to trim the national debt, I thought it would be fun to do a parody of Janie's Got a Gun by Aerosmith.

Home...

Home is sweet, not bitter,
Home is fun, not a drag,
Home is full of meaning, not a perplex,
Home is perfect, not an angst,
Home is right, not wrong,
Home is easy, not difficult...

Home is an anchor,
Home is where you hear laughter,
Home is warm and fuzzy,
Home is where earl grey tea tastes better,
Home is a delight,
Home is exciting,
Home is where Mom is,
Home is where the children are,
Home is where your friends are and people who smile at you,
Home is where your work is,
Home is where you can take your mask off and be yourself,
Home is where you are,
Home is... home...

911 - The Sound of Chaos

I remember I woke to the sound of chaos
First I thought it was another bombing in Iraq
Turned off the radio and turned on the news flash
I couldn't believe there was an attack

All those people caught in panic and terror
When the first tower fell, I thought it was an error
Then the second deflated like a bag of air
But with the utmost costly despair

All those people running for their lives
I couldn't believe it, to see such demise
Fear and disbelief running rampant
An un-waking hideous nightmare of time

The news cut in, and said the pentagon was hit
Oh my god I thought, could this be it?
I looked up to the skies as I drove to work
I hear there's another plane, but it hit the earth

They said it was headed for the Sears Tower
I tried calling my husband, there weren't available towers
I tried calling on my way to work
My husband worked at the Sears Tower

I arrived at work, I tried calling again
What's happening? Why aren't you answering?
Pacing the floor, tapping the phone
Come on Honey, pick up the phone

I felt guilty as hell because of where I sat
He could have been Bin Laden's target
When I heard they changed their route
I rush came over me, and I let it all out

Those brave souls on that plane made sure
It would not reach the destination of horror
Instead took their own lives
To an certain deadly detour

We finally spoke, I was overjoyed
He was as scared as a little boy
He said panic and hysteria filled the air
He wanted to be home, it was all that mattered
He said the train station was packed and scared
People were jumping the tracks
They were just looking to be safe
The building was evacuated just in case

But once on the train
He said there was an eerie silence
Someone had a radio
That played the news of that day

A sigh of relief as they drove further away
No one on that train will forget that day
They could have been the next to die that day
And instead they go home and feel safe again

I never felt so happy about a plane crashing
But my husband, my life, my everything
Was not going to die, at least not that day
I thank the passengers that gave their lives that day

They knew they would never
See their families again
They knew they were traveling
As a human time bomb that day

The parents, the wives, the sons and daughters
Sisters and brothers, friends and lovers
I pray for the families who lost their loved ones
I cannot even imagine how they felt

Forgotten Mom

All I talked about was you
The months before you were home
Not a call or a text, but on facebook
I find out your home like everyone else

She got the surprise
A hug she could not even give
I'd given you hugs and kisses
And said I'm so proud and cry

I know you never meant to hurt me
But that night I cried like a baby
A mother needs to know she's loved
Just like a son needs to be proud of

I wanted to know when you'd be home
So I could arrange some time to spend
You could not give me that
Yet it was the night before you left

You still haven't changed
Still avoiding situations
Like not knowing how to tell people
You just want to hang with friends

But I'm YOUR MOM dammit
I think I have the right
To see you more than once
The 2 weeks you're home from Kuwait

Maybe I wasn't a good mom
Is this really what you think
But you won't tell me
Cause you'll avoid that just the same

She texted me to let me know you'd be home
So I called and texted,
I'm home on facebook you said
Yet no reply I got

Your actions speak louder
Than the few words you say
I see where I stand
In your small world you stay

A Prayer for America

I said prayer for you today
I hope you didn't mind
I asked God to comfort you
And put you tears behind

I prayed for peace and mercy too
To help you through these days
And for his loving guidance.
As he leads you on your way

You need not walk this path alone
Just turn around you'll see
You have families and friends
To help make your pain ease

I prayed for miracles
And hope and happiness
And also asked to bless you...
When you are so stressed

I said prayer for you today
I hope you didn't mind
I just wanted to make sure
As I knelt down to pray

Please god, bless us America
Watch over and keep us strong

Twas The Night Before Elections

Twas The Night Before Elections

Twas the night before elections and all through the town
Tempers were flaring and emotion were up and down

There in my PJ's my dinner plate in my lap
I shut off the TV being so tired of the political crap

When all of a sudden there arose such a noise
I peered out my window to see Obama coming with his boys

They had come for my wallet and were wanting all my pay
To hand it out to all their followers who had never worked a day

Obama grinned as he snatched up my money quick as a wink
And jumped back on his band wagon as I gagged from the stink

He rallied his evil henchmen that were chained to his cart
It's clear they were out to tear the good ole USA apart

On Fannie, on Freddie, on Biden, on Ayres
On Acorn, on Pelosi he screamed at his horrible pairs

They took off for Obama's evil cause and as they flew out of sight
They were laughing at the nation that refused to stand up and fight

Now here is where I must leave you all, I have just this one final note!!
IF YOU DON'T WANT SOCIALISM GET YOUR A$$ OUT AND VOTE!

Bill Clinton Speech

Howdy folks!
I was your president from 1993-2001
I made believe that I was against George Bush Sr.
I lied
I pretended I cared about the American people
I passed NAFTA
I encouraged illegal aliens to steal their jobs
Through insourcing and outsourcing
I passed the biggest tax increase in 1993
I said I was against Mitt Romney a few days ago
Mitt Romney is no different than Barack Obama
We all work for elitist and are paid well to lie to you
I am worth over 100 million dollars now
My wife get to be a big world leader
In excange for my cheating with Monica, Jennifer,
Too many to count
Schucks
I'm just a hillbilly from Arkansas

About this poem:
We are being played for suckers in this country to think that your vote makes a difference if you vote for democrat or republican. I only voted third party twice, I'm thinking I need to do it again.

Ronald Reagan at the Republican Covention

Well
I bet you didn't expect to see me here
They froze my body and thaw me out every four years
So I can tell you how proud I am of all of you
You have expanded on my plans of crushing unions
I big shout out to Scott Walker
I never did real good in Wisconsin
Seeing Walker do what he has done makes me real proud
I would also like to thanks my predecessors
Bush and son Bush
You did a real good job in Iraq
For all I did for you
I ask for only one thing
Put my face on Mt Rushmore
One more thing before I got back in deep freeze
If you look under your seat
You will find a box of jelly beans
Black, my favorite color
Well
See you all again in 2016!

About this poem:
Watching the Republican Convention last night, I thought about Ronald Reagan who was our president from 1981-1989. I thought what he would say if he was still alive, or at least what I would make him say. I still have no idea who I am voting for, mabe Ron Paul will run on a third party.
