Window to the yard

After a wakeful night, like after a battle in which everyone is defeated,
Aware that there will be more, I light a cigarette by the open window.

We are all of the same stuff, but our designs are different.
We find ourselves by texture and fine valuers.
When they disappear, because of habit, because of vanity,
when we let them fade because we didn't nurture them,
they leave us, we leave,
dear people we were happy with
just because of the textures and light we shared.
Slowly, imperceptibly, we are left alone.
Loneliness is for one the choice and the other the destiny.
It doesn't matter if you have someone beside you or you don't.
I didn't choose her ...

Cold air comes in through an open window,
presses the smoke of a burned cigarette in my chest,
in the heart, pieces of ice melt in the eyes.
A courtyard surrounded by walls, like a prison circle,
dirty white garage - it lacks a brick on the gable,
plants that seek care and, by some miracle, grow on their own.
I had a dream…

Now I'm looking at the heavy clouds of reality,
not knowing what will fall out of them,
Cold December rain Or gentle white snowflakes.

Life is like this cigarette,
once burned it remains to burn,
to provide pleasure, to satisfy a need, to create dependence
and not to please someone at will, which is exactly what is burning.

The first flakes fell on the extended palm
and they merged into palm lines as if to predict destiny,
different from the one that sleepless night offered.

I will find my dream where it has been lost this sleepless night,
where he had hidden it this chilly morning.
There is still life breathed into me…

Solace and Liberation

During those times of uncertainty
Spinning around a pedestal
Trying to decide how best
A threshold to cross over
Alone all the confusion feels
Like the weight of gravity
Pressure felt all around
When comes kind words
A simple gesture gives
A whole presence guides
Encourages every step
The grateful heart is lifted
By the sheer presence of
Of a powerful understanding
When there is no judgement
Only words of solace and liberation

You

Always there in times of despair,
words so pure
Knowing, my fears
Always, there
showing, you care
Never, letting me down
Not so, much as a frown
The tenderness, in your heart
It's a beautiful, work of art
I never thought it possible,
not to be judged
To be, unconditionally loved
You, make me laugh
You, make me cry
Never, telling a lie
Such is a rare find
I'm, proud to say
You are, my best friend
To the very end of time.

Fading Flower

My flower is fading
Losing some of its
Summer bloom
Fading fast from glory
A brilliant sun does pass
Baked into perfection
From such tender roots
To the heaven bound buds
Rising to the top of all high
Like a personal resurrection
Albeit one best not surpassed
I give you my morning
My best indication of all
Just tender loving care
Is all I will ever need

FRIENDS.....

A day when grey skies and rain doesn't matter
Your inner sun, and friends warming chatter
Lift your spirts, making you smile and chuckle
Nothing upsets you, in a busy timetable juggle

On other days, you may have fought back tears
Yet these special days, the outcome is clear
Attitude and confidence, will win through
You feel blessed, and that is the only clue

These days so special, teach us to smile
Learning to remember, and retain on file
Tucked away deep, in our emotional core
Memories kept safe, until needed once more

I had one of these special days, last week
Friendship surrounded me, feelings so deep
That will warm me on chilly times in life
When we fight to overcome, what we call strife

Tommy

I'm the strongest man in Ireland said tommy to his friend,
I'm the strongest man in Ireland it's hard to comprehend,
I'm the strongest man in ireland said tommy to his friend,
His friend kicked tommy in the balls,
The end,
The end,
The end.

In The Lovely Town Of You And Me

In the lovely town of you and me
People live so happily
The presence of somewhere special is in the air
Smiling faces are everywhere

An early morning cup of coffee
And in the afternoon maybe a cup of tea
Everything is going swell would you stop and sit for a spell
In the lovely town of you and me

The park has lots of pretty flowers
With little shelters for little showers and when raindrops fall
It's no mystery why couples fall in love
In the lovely town of you and me

No there is not much to do
Talk and be yourself and if you want slip off your shoes
Conversations happen naturally
In the lovely town of you and me

"Captivated by a smile"

Have you ever been captivated by a smile?
Like mesmerized, deer caught in head lights.
Breath taking, heart racing, beating a minute a mile.
I couldnt believe such beauty was in my sights.
You left me in awe, the moment I saw your picture roslov434.

The Last Bonfire

Under gray billowing clouds the gulls flew
In the bitter wind when first snowflakes grew
Whipped into funnels to the ground they blew
Filling in cracks between the rocks askew

On the horizon a pale dull sun did drop
And the darkness crept up ‘till the shadows
Converged all around when the day did stop
And stars became celestial rainbows

Huddled brave souls near last glowing embers
Within a ring of rocks was set ablaze
On icy shores our lake in November
One last bonfire to cheer the good ol’ days

A peaceful sound when each wave comes ashore
Was life counting the seasons more and more

About this poem:
Reflections of life along the shores of a big freshwater lake, where many years in our youth were like seasons when all would meet together and party around a large bonfire until the end of each season such as when the darkness and ice of winter came.

FRIENDSHIPS.....

Friends can change a day, giving a lift
Caring and sharing, their special gift
Whether just a kind word, or a smile
If needed, they'll go the extra mile

They'll know when to listen, or talk
Maybe take us for a drive, or walk
Whatever, sincerity shines through
They can even arrive, right on cue

When our world seems to crumble
We feel unsteady, ready to stumble
A trusted voice, is there on the phone
Passing sad time together, not alone

Everyone needs family or friends
Positive support, readily they send
In person, or their voice or word
True friends, will always be heard...….
