I'm Back

Not really a poem (although just to say)
Your top Aussie poet is now back today.

Now three weeks offline, has been long enough
(My old laptop crashed - indeed it was stuffed).

I did all I could to fix the old thing;-
Tried this and that, and repairs on the wing.

Wasted three days and four nights on repairs
But the old girl was gone - it seemed no one cared.

So I bought a fresh laptop - a great new device
And set the thing up for some more CS spice.

And to be honest - how could I keep away?
When it's part of my life to write a poem a day.

And if not one a day, then one a week
To all CS poets - you make my life complete.

Hi to all of the CS poets - here's a sonnet of sorts

Oh how I've missed what you all have to say -
And hooray, hooray, I'm back online today.

Tellin” Things No One Else Should Know

'Tellin' Things No One Else Should Know'
author: guitarpoet99
I can tell you things no else should know
There's something in your smile
I've never seen before
Let's take a guitar strum
To our next harmony
Where a good friend
Is all a hurtin' heart needs

Chorus
It ain't a matter of thinkin' the heart can't change
There's no fool here falling behind a second time
If the days seem too lonely and a hand needs company
You can tell me things no else should know

An angel's voice to my ear tells me you're near
In her melody she sings of answered prayers now here
Telling you and me things no one else should know
Yes, you can tell me things no one else should know

Chorus
It ain’t a matter of thinkin’ the heart can’t change
There’s no fool here falling behind a second time
If the days seem too lonley and the hand needs company
You can tell me things no one else should know
Yes, you can tell me things no one else should know

About this poem:
This is actually lyrics for a song I wrote for a female friend going through a tough time. Begins with -I can tell you things...... and then- You can tell me things... A symbolizing of an open communication of the heart between friends

JUST THAT KIND OF GIRL

When the path you're on,
Seems to remain the same,
Just take the next turn,
And you will begin to see a change,

When clouds of darkness,
Start to roll in,
Please realize you can,
Truly begin again,

I know your painful past,
Keeps trying to hang on,
Too alone, too scared, No will to move on,

But never yield to fear,
The pain and the tears,
You're in the here and now,
You can't roll back the years,

So, wipe away those tears,
From your soft weary eyes,
Hold your head up,
Keep your eyes to the skies,

And you will rise,
Above your stormy gray world,
You know deep in your heart you're,
Just That Kind Of Girl.

Friends come and go

Friends come and go
As the currents ebb and flow
The swells and ripples that they make
Leave mixed emotions in their wake
For some friends drift with changing tide
Come on strong and then subside
Only to be cast Upon the shore
Disappear and be seen no more
But Some friendships are strong enough to stand
the changing tides and shifting sand
What is strong enough to set these friendships apart
Affinity of mind and heart
Love much more than mere token
thoughts understood
Yet unspoken
A common bond, a mutual goal
An understanding heart and soul
It's these little things that mean so much
Are strokes of friendship's velvet touch

Difference between a "TRUE" friend and a "FALSE" f

Difference between a "TRUE" friend and a "FALSE" friend. TRUE FRIENDS encourage.
FALSE FRIENDS discourage.

TRUE FRIENDS tell you what is wrong, in a way that you'll UNDERSTAND.
FALSE FRIENDS tell you what is wrong, in a way that YOU WANT to HEAR it.

TRUE FRIENDS tell you what you did was wrong, and even SCOLD you for doing it.
FALSE FRIENDS tells you what you did is right, (even if it was wrong) in a FOOLISH, IMMATURE kind of way.

TRUE FRIENDS are FAIR.
FALSE FRIENDS are ONE-SIDED.

TRUE FRIENDS help you in EVERY STEP of your WORK, ASSIGNMENTS, etc.
FALSE FRIENDS does THE WORK, ASSIGNMENTS, etc. FOR YOU, leaving you with no knowledge.

TRUE FRIENDS go the EXTRA MILE.
FALSE FRIENDS does NOTHING! in fact, THEY DONT EVEN CARE. (but they say they do.)TRUE FRIENDS helps you in ALL THINGS, and even SACRIFICES time for you.
FALSE FRIENDS tend to tell you "IM BUSY" or "CAN WE TALK ABOUT IT NEXT TIME?" hiding THE FACT that they really don't care about you.

TRUE FRIENDS never COMPARE ANYTHING!
FALSE FRIENDS always COMPARES!

TRUE FRIENDS when they give advice to you, they ANALYZE THE PROBLEM, and TELLS TO YOUR FACE "YOUR WRONG, infact, YOUR BOTH WRONG!"
FALSE FRIENDS when they give advice to you, they ANALYZE THE PROBLEM, then, TELLS YOU WHAT YOU WANT TO HEAR.TRUE FRIENDS try to be MATURE for you, looking at EVERY POSSIBLE SITUATION.
FALSE FRIENDS FAKE the MATURITY, then GIVES YOU JUST ONE OPTION! (such stupidity!)

TRUE FRIENDS will STAY, no MATTER WHAT arguements YOU had, and TREATS you AS PART of HIS/HERS OWN, and would stay, through THICK and THIN.
FALSE FRIENDS FAKE the STAYING, because they ENJOY the company, OR THEY USE YOU, but IN REALITY, THEY DONT GIVE A SHIT of WHAT YOU ARE. in fact, THEY ARE LAUGHING RIGHT NOW, on HOW DESTROYED YOU.

"nobody can be a 'PERFECT' TRUE FRIEND, but everybody can be a 'PERFECT' FALSE one."

in the end, CHOOSE your FRIENDS WISELY!

"TELL ME WHO YOUR FRIENDS ARE, AND I'LL TELL YOU, WHO YOU ARE."

now, tell me, WHAT ARE YOU? a TRUE FRIEND, or a FALSE FRIEND?

ACROSS THE MILES.

Our meeting took place on the internet.
I read your story and thought I'll see
I asked if you wanted to talk with me
and you said we can only be friends
cause you're too far away for me.
That was the very first time we met.

Did you want to see a photo of me I said,
"nah doesn't matter we'll never meet,"
so we drifted along chatting away
not often but every second or third day.
I'd look sometimes and you weren't there
so just a message I'd type to be read.

It was much more fun when you were there,
I could ask a question and get a reply
and there were funny things we did share.
I found you happy and your humour dry,
we laughed a lot and joked with each other
and slowly and surely we became friends.

We both lived in a different time zone
and our chats were across the miles.
So we watched the clock all the while
for the right time to pick up the phone.
and in between our emails came and went.
We shortened the distance between us.

Then one day you said you'd been thinking
how far away we lived from each other.
I'd been thinking the same thing too.
You seem so nice since I got to know you
and now you wanted to see a photo of me.
What will happen if you like what you see ?

We've grown close in such a short while.
One can only guess what would happen
if you see my photo and like the look of me.
I wish I could see your face to see a smile
but then if its not there I'd rather not see
but I've high hopes I'll be around for a while......

Who is my friend?

If you can only see my failures
you are not a friend

If you can only see fault
you are not a friend

If you can only see the ugliness
you are not a friend

If you can only see what you can get from me
you are not a friend

If you are here to manipulate
you are not a friend

If you are not offering healing
you are not a friend

If you are not offering compassion
you are not a friend

If you are not showing a better way
you are not a friend

If you only want to play
you are not a friend

If you are not extending a hand
to lift me up
You are not a friend

If you raise your hand in anger
you are not a friend

If you can only attack me
you are not a friend

If you can't forgive
you are not a friend

If you have no love for yourself
how can you be a friend?

If you can learn to see the
the greatness within
you are my friend

If you can see the goodness
you are my friend

If you have the faith in us
you are my friend

If you can still see the beauty
in the world around you
you are my friend

If you have the hope
you are my friend

If you have love in your heart
you are my friend

Let us be friends to the end

Confused

It's sad that you don't know me.
You may have just missed out.
We chatted for a bit
I thought we were a hit.
I missed it by a mile.
Still you made me smile.
To think you might be interested
In someone just like me.
Maybe one day I will find someone who is kind
And truly interested in what someday they will find.
Hidden away from prying eyes
And judgment they don't need.
We all feel the pain of rejection
And this will never rhythm.

No title

How shall I liken unto thee
My beloved flower
who pretty much
made a fool of me.

True love requires patience
that many may know
but how is one to believe
based upon the quality
you show?

True love has no ego to bruise
nor has nothing to lose
Yet, when your object of
affection seems to create a ruse
its time to reevaluate
if its worth the cruise

Love offers its many illusions
often leaving much
confusion

No matter the smile
or the length of mile
There comes a time to
take off the rose colored
glasses
before being made into
foolish asses

We had our dance and a brief romance
unfortunately the pain endured
is not worth another chance

I set you free
I thank you for the love
you offered me
in your capacity
