Message to Dan Rather

One can only be faithful
to those whom require faith,
for faithfulness is shared,
one, willing to offer,
the other to receive.

Hence, the act of faith is not abstract
it is motion:
I am faithful,
you trust in my faith,
equal parts to the measure.

I pause:

I do not trust Dan Rather,
no, that is not true.
I do not trust the man
who chooses the words
that Dan Rather reads
while acting impassioned
while thinking of scotch.

Peter Jennings I trust.

Passionate people are never balanced,
balance people are never passionate,
why are not people passionate about being balanced?

Passionate people can be found in
battlefields, churches, prisons,
and rutting in beds.

Balanced people can be found in
bookstores, libraries, symphonies,
and rutting in beds.

Perhaps they are not so different.

The wolf kills its prey without remorse
tearing the sodden meat from the bone
unaware of the life that has ended.

I buy my meat in sterilized Styrofoam
removing the soaker pad from the back,
unaware of the life that has ended.

I think the wolf is more honest than I.

Jung believed you and I are connected,
that our collective consciousness is as one,
I bet you don't know what I am thinking now,
Freud believes I just want to screw you,
Hmm

The wolf just wants to eat you,
Hmm

We are all Dan Rather,
saying what we believe the script to be,
carefully wrapping our passions
in sterilized Styrofoam
while the wolf within salivates.

Just once I want to see
Dan Rather stare thoughtfully
into the camera
and passionately proclaim
"screw you"

How I would smile….

A Sonnet to friendship.

Friendship shall halt the power of time,
like boyhood days that seem not to fade
amidst those long lost spheres sublime,
when, to unforgiving time we joyous played,
rare such virtue true, slumbering sweet
with thoughts more rich than gold,
its voice unknown to thunders roll, entreat
the heart that ne'er grows old,
united, bonds mutual strength, thus found
a hallowed ground, much blessed, heroic deep,
harvest sweet unspoken words profound,
where love's silent voice its honest tokens keep,

friendship gilds the value of each weary day,
annulling, all life's stormy paths away.

About this poem:
To have a true Lady friend, is often subjected to ill founded thoughts, thus this sonnet is written to such a special Lady, the passage of years have not tainted one iota of the close bond we share.

My POET

He knows me not
nor i know him
yet he shovels my dirt to the surface
dig's out whats within.
My silent heartbreak
my failures,my loss
how does he know me so well
when he knows me not.
when words fail me
he speaks them for me
a total stranger
how can this be.
But must we know each other
to relise how much were alike
we cry the same tears for the same reason
we battle the same fights.
But alas i don't really care
he reminds me were all the same
and there is comfort in knowing your not alone
and i thank you for that, my poet, Mr james.

Complimentary

After these years passing...
Under these circumstances in life...
Over thoughts about its meaning...

...there is one answer to all questions
one result to sum up all
one sad eye and one laughing

Looking at me from a different point of view
Tears of joy as all is a flow
Wisdom from experience always undirected

Seven times nine at the very beginning
Shaping now to fill the missing letters
in a crossword puzzle of definitions
putting all pieces in the right place

Acrostic Apocalypse (Poem By candykid)

Candykid likes sweet lollipop treats...
Odette is the queen of this corner...
No one can run a show quite like our brother...
Number one there'll never be another...
Elo friend we'd like to read more from you...
Cafetwo your poems split us in two...
Trurorob wisely cautiously posts...
Indeed Darkhorse sures writes the most...
Now i'll mention a girl that could rule the world...
Girlygirl you are that girl...

So who else next am I going to mention?
Is it fjames or madtat or weemick or fellsman?
No I can't but they're not on suspension...
Gee Mizzy I bet you think I forgot about you...
Lies don't make false truths come true...
Everyone not mentioned your poems are not lackluster...
Spartacus your poems are spectacular.....

"Awesome C.V." ( S.G. Hiring Challenge ).

Dear Soul goddess,
In reply to your advertisement for restaurant staff,
I submit this C.V. for a worker and a half.
A more talented person you'll never find,
Diligent, practical, so straight and kind.
With excellent elocution to entertain your crowd,
Proper manners and rearing, yet to work not too proud.
What if your chef ever fails to turn in ?
You'll need someone to cook right there on a whim.
Your cleaner just might let you down next Friday,
How good would it be to have someone who's tidy ?
You specialise in fish so just in case,
You surely need a person that knows their plaice.
A fine multi-talented person it's true,
Full of heart & charisma and Wow! good looks too.
This is not about me, if that's what you're thinking,
Its on behalf of a lady to whom I am winking.
You'll not find her equal anywhere on the nett,
Please consider this C.V. for the Awesome Lady Odette !

Delphinus Nights

Embedded image from another site

I have flown on wings of dreams, but I never could land well
I've never been to the end of a rainbow and I've never talked to an angel
I could never reach the fleeing horizons and I could never catch the wind
I have never caressed a sliver of moonlight until it touched your skin
When I first saw the beauty of your silhouette standing before the sun
I was the pilot of a new dream landing in your love
Then my tears reflected colors of a rainbow and I could talk to God
I could finally reach the horizons as you woke up in my arms
And I dont care where the winds blow as long as I'm with you
We could float into forever where Delphinus stars may bloom
Where time is never the difference between nights and days
We could cast our shadows from moonlight as we let our hands play
Plucking beautiful flowers from heaven until the end of times
Planting new celestial gardens beyond our endless skies

"Nature's Crown" Sonnet. (Orientalkoru challenge)

Against a Cumbrian sunset statuesque,
In slanted beams she beckons me to grace,
Breathtaking views, the ink of nature's desk,
My heart to pen a smile upon her face.
Majestic jagged hills oft' touch a cloud,
Stooping to the lakelands deepened soul,
Penrith wraps our Love in scented shroud,
Sweet English rose, my Irish heart you stole.
Blinded by the beauty that surrounds,
None more fair than her pale countenance,
I on her blowing tresses place a crown,
To celebrate our close poetic dance.

Fond moments that I dream can't come too soon,
When yonder we will kiss to nature's swoon.
