About this poem:
I read and walked for miles at night along the beach,
writing bad blank verse and searching endlessly for someone wonderful who would step out of the darkness and change my life. It never crossed my mind that that person could be me.__Anna Quindlen

Peace

Embedded image from another site

When I think of all the strife and trouble
In a world like pieces of an unfinished puzzle
I sadly ask myself “where is the love”
That will help us all break free of
The untold wars, hunger and hopelessness
We share together as humans in distress

In ideologies spiraling out of control
Like particles pulled into a black hole
Unable to set our spirits free
To love one another and just be

Not knowing what the future brings
Rise up and spread your wings
Love everyone pour out your hearts
This is how we begin, we start

Change begins with each of us
One act of love and kindness rendered
Multiplies as we humbly surrender
To another human in deepest splendor

Yesterday is over
The future is yet unknown
Love everyone as we take our stands
So human strife will have a closure
And peace will reign across our lands
As we reap the love in seeds we've sown

Thinking

He fills my heart with joy
Wish I could make him my boy
You
Will always be my star
Even if it's from afar
See
I already care for you
It's you who makes me laugh
He
Fills me with much glee
Makes me feel free
Everyday
It's he I want to see
My sweetie

ARE WE REALLY DIFFERENT

ARE WE REALLY DIFFERENT

We are not so different in
what we think and do
The difference that some look at
is in our skin tones hue.

It's not what's on the outside
that makes a friendship start
It's what we have inside us
what is within our heart.

No friendship can be seen
as red, yellow, black or white
They are based on love
and what is wrong or right.

Friendships are also caring
the gentle loving kind
And another thing so great is
friendships are color blind.

There are no mountains
you can not climb
Nor deserts bleak and bare
no rivers that you can not cross
when you have a friend to care.

A friend is always there and will dry
your tears for you
And give to you some sunshine
when your world seems blue.

Friends are friends no matter what
red, yellow, black or white
Don't be afraid if you see your friend
to hug them nice and tight.

They may need some sunshine or
just a little lift
And the love you give in friendship
is such a precious gift.

Thanksgiving

Embedded image from another site

Thanksgiving, Giving Thanks

Being thankful should be an everyday occurrence.
If we need a day for gratitude, then, reach out with
Your whole heart and soul, mind and body

· Your heart and soul to love and connect with others in the spirit
· Your mind to reflect and contemplate gratitude in what you have
· Your body to embrace and share the warmth of love in a touch

Have a peacefully blessed, sharing, caring and loving day!
Today and always

Gratitude is a powerful empowering feeling that reaches inside you and
Emanates out to others in kindness, compassion, understanding, acceptance
And love, always love ~Bliss~

Home is Where the Heart is

He came to town in the summer, when the ice is supposed to melt
The coldest summer anybody here had ever felt
He entertained us nightly with his stories and his songs
Mostly sang of happy times when he could do no wrong

The bar wasn't much, and the regular crowd
Drank and talked quietly, they seldom got loud
He always kept our spirits up, just the smile on his face
Could warm you like a roaring fire in the old stone fireplace

Seems that he had played for years with a traveling country band
And all he wanted when he died was a guitar in his hand
But he always played a solo, not even a duet
And I wondered if his playing was some kind of private debt.

And I asked him why he came here, why he'd left the sun
He said "Home is where the heart is, and mine has come undone"
I never asked him more than that, but a troubled look appeared
It was three good songs and a pint of beer before it disappeared

He left a few days later, said he heard a wandering call
And he thanked us for the tips we left, the food and drink and all
He said he thought it would be best to leave before the rain
And promised that, if we were good, we’d hear from him again

Winter came with spring behind, and summer before long
But no one had the faintest clue of where he might have gone
Gone without a trace, they said, probably gone back home
Somewhere where the sun shines bright, nevermore to roam

But I don’t think that’s where he is; I’d bet my stake on that
And if he’s in a place called “home” I’ll gladly eat my hat
For I hear his gentle playing in the sighing of the trees
His lonesome voice is singing in every autumn breeze

His eyes are clearly shining in the crystal skies at night
And though they think I’m crazy, I’m pretty sure I’m right
That he has found another town far from the burning sun
For home is where his heart is, although it’s come undone.

So Clean 'n Bright
Straight From Brazil

But It Radiates
Her Soul

Empyrean

Embedded image from another site

The only thing that makes the emptiness so bearable is knowing that we're not alone
And somewhere in the universe is another lonely searching soul
Considering the stars seem close and yet they are so far
From where I stand on shaky ground as I wonder where you are
In light years of super clusters neon heavens are displayed
Lost inside rendition I find my heart no longer in dismay
So infinite in numbers and compliment each other with utter grace
And here I am on a spec of dust in search of love without a face
But somewhere beyond horizons twilight gifts encourage us
In those times we search for hope our souls are always looking up
Subsequently to my collection I realize they have placed the answers here
Illuminating enlightened paths to outshine our simple fears
Again I compared us to the stars above where our numbers cannot reflect
So possibly the world isn't full of strangers just some friends we haven't met
Then with will and perseverance my hearts imagination began to bloom
The universe acquiesced in silence revealing a love I never knew

My lovely lady whereever you are?!

She walks like an angel
Through my broken dreams
Carrying hope like mail
To repair loves lost seams

She is not the end all and be all
but the one thats getting away
For her I would always fall
She knows what i would say

Its something primal that attracts
Something instinctual that draws
Her feminine clothes and makeup masks
Her delicate beauty that awes

I want to see her finally and again
In my dreams I can't wait to meet
The women who eludes the love train
and i haven't felt yet her loving heat

But for lack of trying to get it
i wonder now and again sometime
will she turn to this fire thats lit
After she reads this biographical rhyme.
