Family

Embedded image from another site

It’s a day like any other
Kids leave waving to mother

Husband gives a kiss and hug
Yes, still such a handsome mug

Walking back to the kitchen
Knees stiff and still aching

Pour another cup of coffee
Listening to silence it’s awful

Light up another darn smoke
Like common ordinary folk

Browse the paper for sales
Need snacks for lunch pails

Grass needs mowing
Gutters full, leaves blowing

Neighbor’s dog runs in the street
Postman coming for it to greet

Laundry to do and beds to make
Stretching, yawning trying to awake

Radio playing a favorite tune
Husband home for lunch at noon

Time to dress and fuss with hair
Prayers said for a good day to share

Dinner needs some careful planning
Delicious, nutritious and appealing

Cleaning and organizing to do
Depended upon to come through

Each and every day for family
No time for unhappiness or apathy

Castle Queen moves through the day
And every once in awhile
Thoughts creep in of running away

Stopping and sighing with a smile
Of course escaping would never do
This beautiful family depends on you

The Bonfire

Embedded image from another site

The night was perfect for a bonfire gathering
Many good friends to join this magical happening
Time standing still in lost coolness of autumn glowing
Tethered to the warmth of blustery winds a blowing
In the early dawn of light planning for the fire begins
Like the morning holy prayers of solemn matins

Approaching you could smell the cows faraway and distant
Mingled with the wood burning the aroma was persistent
Food was sat among tables arranged around the trees
Receiving their share were the flies and bees
Buzzing a melodic pitch of tonic accent
Apropos for this outdoor content

The building of the bonfire is a true art form
Tree limbs stacked in meticulous order one by one
Enticing flames to rise in heights and dance like spirits
Filling the night with fellowship among the hot smoky orbits
Reflecting through the stars blazing flames leaping without care
As eyes sparkled and the heat warmed our faces in the night air

Grass fed meat cooked ceremoniously over the billowing fire
A picture emerges of feasting in a forgotten medieval empire
Friends together chatting under the warm dark skies above
Laughter in the air while souls touch in neighborly love
That need no assistance from extraneous luminaire’
While the brisk winds blew through our hair

Many life’s lessons were told one by one
Mixed with different views and opinions spun
The Bonfire climbs higher holding us in rapture
While mingling with the scents, chatter and laughter
All the wood if free to gather in the forests there’s no quota
This is the life of Bonfire gatherings with friends in Minnesota
Should strangers see the billowing smoke, stopping by to inquire
They’ll be welcomed as friends and asked to join the circle
To share with us the comforting warmth
of the blazing Bonfire

Thank you

The clock ticks and I look around
Only the hurtful memories can be found
I raise my head take a deep breath
I try my best to get out of bed

These walls are closing in fast
I can’t stop thinking of the past
Every bad thing I have done
My mind races images run

This sadness I feel inside
I just want to run and hide
I want to talk I want to tell
I am afraid I will be told to go hell

These walls are closing in fast
I can’t stop thinking of the past
Every bad thing I have done
My mind races images run

It is torture of the highest grade
Any good memories start to fade
I start to question my life’s faith
I believe it is in an unfixable state

These walls are closing in fast
I can’t stop thinking of the past
Every bad thing I have done
My mind races images run

Bad mental health has brought me here
Eroded at my life for many year
Until the day it all came crashing down
I was found dying on lonely ground

These walls are closing in fast
I can’t stop thinking of the past
Every bad thing I have done
My mind races images run

I found I had hidden away
I told my friends not to stay
I stopped talking
I stopped having a say

These walls are closing in fast
I can’t stop thinking of the past
Every bad thing I have done
My mind races images run

It is funny how all this works
You think you are alone you fear the worst
You slash the knife you pull the trigger you release the rope
You feel like there is no hope

These walls are closing in fast
I can’t stop thinking of the past
Every bad thing I have done
My mind races images run

Then you wake up
You catch a tear filled stare
All the people who love you standing there
You can hear them chat of times gone bye
Happy memories they speak no lies

Now when I am feeling low
Bad memories they start to flow
I reach out to some I know
I ask them for a little chat
Their loving words my confidence begins to grow

Life is not as bad I thought
It has its ups and it its down
But I don’t wear it as a frown
I just remember loving words that were said me
Remember the ups learn from downs
Wear your good traits as a crown
So when you look in the mirror they are easily found

About this poem:
Inspired by my ex-wife

I asked her once why she stopped loving me and I was shocked by her answer
She said I never stopped loving you I still love but you stopped loving yourself and taking care of yourself and I could not stand by and watch you die.

Smile

A smile from one to another,
no hidden agenda or false hope,
a show of liking what you see, is no bother,
enables another with lifes struggle to cope,

That glimpse of a shining smile,
when you receive, it lifts your day,
makes you feel like you have run a mile,
just a smile, no words to say,

Come on let us all smile use those muscles,
show the world that we can care,
a frown will only show ones tussles,
so a pretty smile to me and I too will share.

About this poem:
It really is amazing how a simple smile from one to another can make you feel on top of the world..no words have to be spoken..if one is really lucky then a smile with their eyes too can send you into orbit..so lets all just smile.

WHO IS HE ?

Who is he
He has my couriousity
This man who writes beautiful poetry
He's new to me
Blinding me with poetry
Leaving me feeling like I'm on a slide
Not sure if I should run or hide
Just stay and enjoy the ride
Its given me a natural high
Could he be real
Or just another heel
Is it my heart he wants to steal
Is he looking for a free meal
I'm not even sure he's for real
I wonder what's his deal

The Man

He walks sure
He stands tall
Confidence oozing from every pore
His will once set is like a wall
This man is nobody's fool
Some might say arrogance
When observing his cool
But I say intelligence
Is sharpened and surpassed
Only by his experience.
He seeks for what must be
A woman, A mate, A lady
Come now ladies, don't be shy
This is a one of a kind guy.
To be with him you must be true
Loyal faithful
And know what to do
He must be able to depend upon you.
I dare not say his name
For fear on my head his wrath will reign
Step out of the shadows my friend
I know you won't lose your head.
Be more brave that's all I can say...
And you'll have your lady
One good day.

Fair-weather friend
foul-weather friend
forever faithful, feeling fine

‘Til temptation toppled
truth’s trajectory tumbled
toward tragic tangle

Downward, devoured distance
deliberate, decimated decline
destroying delicate duo
