On Poetry

On Poetry

To find the words that remain unspoken
and bring together a chain of thoughts unbroken
I search the deepest parts of my mind
as I try to create a poem of a different kind!
But what is it in that corner I see?
Is it madness, or a reflection of me?

STILLNESS TO STILLNESS

Smoky grayness hanging low,
Breezes now began to blow.
Quiet coolness filled the air,
Lightning, flashing here and there.

Rumbling skies began to roll,
Startling, frightening to the soul.
Turning now a forceful way,
Wind then caused the trees to sway.

Then in torrents came the rain,
Causing too a harsh refrain.
Rain then stopped, the wind did too,
Brillant sunlight now breaks through.

About this poem:
I wrote this poem, after witnessing a fairly violent rainstorm, the beauty of the silence, before and following it, and the awesome happenings of nature in between inspired me ! I wrote it in 1969, while expecting my 1st. child, my dear old freind a poet himself, Raymond Trowbridge was part of this inspiration.

Sonnet X

For is your sweetness born of strife and pain?
A bleeding wound brought forth by razor lips.
Like oceans drowning 'neath the heaven's rain,
Your soul, it now upon these shadows sips?
But do those shadows quench that burning thirst?
Or does it, like a lonely dune, persist?
And empty rooms may close upon you cursed,
But soon the light will burn away the mist.
For in you burns the flames of loves unrest,
The burning pyres releasing you to dream.
Don't let lies sleep heavy upon your breast,
When breaking through is easy as a scream.

So scream upon the breaking of the day,
And drop your chains and let them fall away.

What makes u think...

What makes u think is love?
If one day you can't see
Her lovely face,
If one day u can't look in her eyes.
What makes u think is love?
If u can't touch her soft hair
Or hear her calm deep voice in u ear.
What makes u think is love?
If you heart beats bum-bum
When she is not near you.
What makes u think is love?
When u can't smell her sweet parfume
Or to kiss her soft and sweet lips .
What makes u think is love?
When u can't touch her soft silky hands
And to hear the steps of her long nice feet.

Sonnet VI – Slowly I Fall

Touch my world softly, so gently caressed.
Give to me nothing, but what you desire;
Spare me a whisper, and set me afire.
You are an angel to this I’ll attest.

All that I am is as I have confessed.
You are the air and the life I require.
Wind in the trees and that which is higher.
You’re all of my dreams as I have expressed.

To take from me now what you have bestowed,
Would tear out my heart, and cripple my soul,
While damming my love, a river that flowed.

So please hear my words, of this I am owed.
Your words they are knives, and taking their toll.
As slowly I fall while visions corrode.

I saw myself

Rape me of my indiscretions

pillage from me my self-made lies

twirl me in sweet euthanasia

in a stupor to drink from your eyes

green and blue and tantalizing

freedom gazes so alone

that we wonder when and where or how

falling from the balcony

Jump, so I did and I almost drowned

So lost was I in these new perceptions

Alone my dream and mauve the light

that tickled me through the fern gully gaze.

Shattering your eyes, I finally saw

I saw myself and was amazed.

One day

Sometimes I see you in the clouds,
you are with blue eyes,
Sometimes I wake up in the nite
and feel you are somewhere there..

But what I really get is just
ordinary faces of people
who are indifferent or simply friends
and I don't know... I really don't
would I be able to touch you
one day...would I be able to love you?

I'm praying you are waiting for me.

LOVE CHANGES

LOVE CHANGES

Candles burn with infinite passion,
as cherries drop chocolate drips.
Rose petals spread romantically fashioned,
as I taste your strawberry lips.
A hint of magic makes love everlasting,
as far as your body’s concerned.
Collar bone kisses slow my reaction,
as we watch those candles burn.
Seems we’re becoming the latest attachment,
So I question our destiny.
“Is this really love?” is what I keep asking,
half of you is the rest of me.
Caught up in traffic, my heart keeps crashing,
my soul keep swerving the lane.
Bodily clashing while kissing and laughing,
grasping for love in the rain.
All that I’m asking in this moment of passion,
as we lay and blow out the flames.
Can I climb your spine while suspended in time,
make love and cherish the change.

Dealing with a loss of a loved one.

You were my life,my everything, you completed me is so many ways.
All these feelings I have for you thru the years and even now
day by day.

Life is so boring without you never was a dull moment when you were around your laughter all thru the house.
Now everything is so quiet around here quieter than a church mouse.

Things will never be the same around here now that you are gone and
its so hard now to get use to.
When we were together the time flew.

But you are still very much around our house im not changing a thing.
I can still hear your voice around here when you use to sing.

I look at the dog I see her eyes I know shes sad she misses you playing
with her you made her so happy.
You always showed her attention no matter what even when you felt crappy.

You are still a big part of our lives around here.
As Im trying to live my life without you my biggest fear.

About this poem:
I wrote this poem because I have lost my husband of 16 years 10 months ago.
Everyday is a struggle but you gotta keep moving on so how I cope is
I write it helps me and I wanted to share with all of you.
We all should not take life for granted we should cherish every moment
we have because life can sure surprise you at times and one moment your
on top of the world the next moment you are going thru something that is so unexplainable words can't even express it. Trust me when I say this that dealing with grief is a emotion I don't wanna feel but your human and you feel it thank god I found someone whos helping me thru it and Im ever so thankful.

love's symphony

"I think of oceans deep... lost in my own thought deeper than the wisest tree i think of my pulsing heart so throbbing and lonely washing away like music's deepest lost melody. but i dont always wander off being that the song is always in my heart like a symphony
it's tempermental sound is calming and sweet like your eyes beautiful as the they twinkle like energy. I can't always remember the most beautiful painting or the the most romantic melody But I always remember the person i share those moments with..I share them with you."
