Embedded image from another site

Trick-Or-Treat smell my feet something like this when all of the kids are rushing out to get their bags so full of candy...

Boo it is the lovely time of the year for Pumpkin Pie and many scary costumes and kids having fun, the hayrack rides and the laughter of the fall time when kids are jumping in all the many of the different colored leaves of fall.....

Halloween is the hoilday before Thanksgiving and it is short but fun and Thanksgiving we fix Turkey, dressing, corn, potato's ,gravey, yams, breads and pies and cookies it is a time to remember the Pilgrams who came to AMERICA......

Hope we all on here at poet corner have a safe Holloween and Thanksgiving for 2011 year and a Jolly one full of food and fun and a safe one if that......

stay away.

when i see your heart so wet it makes me glow with faith again,
when i feel all held back its like the wind blowing my hair back,
when my feet are all blistered and sore its like they marched many more,
when thy arms ache like heel its like they pulled a car upon a cliff,
but most off all my brain pain it only accours when i think of that
stuff ,
a beach a ball a camera a holiday or maybe just a stay away will do.

When Winter Flakes Are Falling

" Fire One!" I shouted out,
and let that snowball fly.
it zeroed in on my friends face,
and smacked him in the eye.
I heard him scream, and then he fell,
and boy did he start balling.
But thats the price you have to pay,
when winter flakes are falling.
But he got up and looked around,
so i launched another round.
this one missed above his head
and sailed into a tree.
then he bent down and grabbed some snow,
and then threw one at me!
it missed, by gosh; but then i heard
my mother loudly calling.
shes right, its way to cold outside
when winter flakes are falling.

holiday fun

we family went to Bee Run beach today (sutton lake). jimmy had terrific fun, pretty much stayed in the water the whole time. lyn was dressed as a typical old Jewish Italian woman from Miami. decked out in a black and white zebra striped swimdress. seems she got off at the wrong exit to florida and landed smack in the middle of west virginia. I'm not sure that she realized any difference. what she may of observed behind her enormously gaudy foster grants, shrouded by a big floppy flowery hat, may have been....may have been..I have no idea. however, I had a much too clear picture in my mind as how she might be observed by other folk in the area. since she appeared as such, and we were where once was my stomping grounds, I...rather wisely you may agree, decided that it may be prudent that I too, don a thin disguise so as to escape detection. but alas....all efforts at remaining incognito were quickly burst, much as a overinflated balloon suddenly pricked by a sharply honed sewing needle, when she took it upon herself, right there amongst the horde of sweaty bathers, on the hot sands afire under the intense glare of an angry noonday sun, to reach out and (gasp!) grasp my left buttock and apply some sort of what she must have regarded as an affectionate pinch! ouch! well, such a shocking surprise to my person and my....and my....golly, it just surprised me. my skin color, that had been adopting a much too quickly pinkening hue, instantly reversed itself and turned, once anew, white as that of a sheet! the grins and the laughter of strangers behind us embarassed me. I was more embarassed than the time that I misspelled embaressed. well, I might have expected something like this. walking down to the beach, on a sign prohibiting dogs, drugs, alcohol, and the like....there was no mention of banning...cheeky women..

About this poem:
now, after spending too long a time basking in summer's eden on this outing of fun and frolic, no number of pinches to my precious posterior will even begin to remove any traces of the burning red cast now emblazened upon my once pearly white skin...

Weekend

Life, return into me!
I want to feel free.
I want to brake out,
yell, scream and shout!

Alive, I need to be.
Else I don't recognize me.
Love, burn me deep within.
I want to dance, I want to spin.

Rhythm, come and caress!
Let me flow, forget the stress.
Music, wake me up!
Please, mister, fill my cup!

Dancing Amidst the Fireflies

- Dancing Amidst the Fireflies -

The cycle of the year is nearly done, with seasons passing swift,
Samhain's time, departing, leaving naught but the snowy drift...
What mighty hand did fashion the wheel that turns things thus?
In what power may humankind, in need, place firm mortal trust!
Each soul, like moths to flames, will find in the hour of true need,
The way unto the light of its' maker, the source of a richer seed.
How like unto angels in flight, are mortals in their greatest plight,
Ascending and descending between darkness and blessed light!
God in all, and all divine in nature, unsuspecting of inner power,
Yet within the spirit, coiled like a serpent, lies a celestial flower.
In the hour of our bloom, we glow brightly with good, manifest,
For all to see the beauty thereof, and for none to dare contest.

Flitting like the fireflies, so swift the shadows cannot disguise,
The beauty of movements beyond mortal eyes 'neath the skies.

Look for the good in all creation, for it is there if your eyes open,
Not with mortal sight, but sight purer, will your perception ripen!
I am the hand that plays the pipes, which resound in the fields,
Whilst the sun warms the fading snows, and the chill air yields.
Of old the maidens danced around singing songs now forgotten,
Whilst shepherds tended flocks and made their living, begotten.
How long the years since I have gone from fields to valleys new,
Where now the fireflies dance at at night, before the virgin dew?
I wonder at the changing world, the seasons that are passing...
And I wish that love, like my immortal soul, could be everlasting.
Perhaps it is; I have only to reach out to the hand that answers!
Let me know when it is come; my love and I will be the dancers.

Flitting like the fireflies, so swift the shadows cannot disguise,
The beauty of movements beyond mortal eyes 'neath the skies.

Dancing amidst the fireflies, king and queen of our own evening,
An eternal night of wonders, filled up with all that is enchanting!
Let the music of the pipes play upon the winds by angelic hands,
For we must dance across the darkness, whirling past the lands!
Wither are we bound, let no mortal mind guess the sacred place,
Only that it will be an Eden anew filled with love's blessed grace.
One look upon her face, and I will know all these joys and more,
For love is joy everlasting, and fate has much joy for us in store.
So come to me, dear child of the night, come dance at my side...
Here amongst the pale, pale moon where velvet shadows abide!
Your gown shall be spun of the silks of elfin weave, of ages gone,
Fair shall be the dance we dare, hidden from the light of the sun!

Flitting like the fireflies, so swift the shadows cannot disguise,
The beauty of movements beyond mortal eyes 'neath the skies.

About this poem:
A poem I penned back in 2009, to celebrate the Samhain season of that year. Few times of year have as much power, mystery, and magic! Let us dance amidst the fireflies now, no matter the time of the year.

The Campfire

Orange flames dance an flicker around
Sending hot embers to the ground
Enticing music an people do abound
For the campfire has been found

Under the nights speckled sky
People an swags they do lie
Unleashing tension with a sigh
Absorbing the brilliance of nature's high

There is a freshness in the air
But the warmth of the fire does take care
Crackling timbers it does bare
Plumes of smoke billowing everywhere

Drifting off to meet the star
Dissolving in night before it gets too far
Sound of nostrils flaring from afar
The night is perfect there is no marr

Joyous sounds of music shared
Uniting people who have cared
To make the journey an have bared
The campfire the flames have flared

If when the city runs you down
Head to the bush where some have found
The campfire an the illuminous starbound
Brings meaning to life an keeps you aground

back to reality

Well the holidays have come and gone
It was fun while it lasted
Now comes reality
Back to work, relationships continues, responsibilities are still there
It is a simple fact of life
Continue go forth and perservere
Every day should be like Christmas
Help each other gracefully and be supportive
People come and people go
Events happen and moods change
Elvis Presley had the right Idea
Everyday should be like Christmas

2_0_1_1

Another year all shiny new,
What will it bring? How will we do?
Will there be fame and fortune great?
Will all our troubles then abate?

Some moan and wail in sad lament,
About time wasted, poorly spent.
Oh how has all our precious time,
Gone up in smoke while we reclined?

The past is past no need to cry,
Don't waste your tears or even sigh.
With each new dawn new hopes arise,
In every night stars fill our skies.

Let this year bring good times to all,
Peace and comfort on each befall.
May love be strong and pure and true,
My fervent wish to all of you.

happy new year

A new year is filled with excitement
And a new perspective
The previous year has come to a close
Now it is time to be reflective

A new beginning given to us
To think about the past
And not repeat the same mistakes
To compare and to contrast

How will your life be different this year?
What is going to change?
Is there a resolution to make?
Or priorities to rearrange?

Make this year a new beginning
The past year does not remain
Gaze ahead to the future
Moving forward into unknown terrain.

Though the road may seem uncertain
And the path may look unclear
No matter where the journey leads
There is no reason to fear.

Don't lose sight of your hopes this year
Enjoy the new memories each day makes
Moving forward little by little
One step at a time is all it takes

Count each day that you are given
As a blessing from above
Let this year be meaningful and special
A new year that you can be proud of.

A new year is a new beginning
To make a fresh start
Continuing on in the journey of life
By looking within your heart
