Friends At Christmas

Christmas was a day of joy and sharing
I went for a walk and it was raining
Stopped at Tim Hortons for some tea
It was funny who I would see
I sat by myself quiet and alone
People there from afar had flown
Hockey night in canada and other sports
I met different relations from all sorts
Joe Sakic"s aunt was sitting beside me
As I was casually enjoying my tea
Theo Fleury's cousin was across of me
As I was casually enjoying my tea
whatever happenned to the Winnipeg jets
Phoeneix Coyotes hockey sticks and nets
The team had come and played for a decade
Now it is gone and a new path is made
Phoenix to Hamilton or Nevada
We need a team here in Canada
Santa has been and gone
I sit here all alone
Love to everyone from here and afar
As I wish upon a falling star
Merry Chistmas and Happy New Year to everyone
I hope your New Years is a happy and prosperous one.

About this poem:
I find it difficult to be with family members at Christmas time. I would love to have a real family and not a disfunctional one. However this is not Andy Griffith, Opey and Aunt Bee
Merry Christmas to all and a Happy New Year
Ps I thank connecting singles for all of my friends that I have made
God Bless Everyone

Heart of christmas

I'm going down to Upland for Christmas
where two tiny elves, Lilly and Rose,
wait for Santa in the blue-collar town
of California's orange-grove history.

Cherubic, beguiling, flower-faces;
with sky-blue orbs twinkling, see me
as if I'm really something special
and I am special--their own
silver crowned Christmas angel--

As the resident grandmother;
I help mom and dad make a tradition,
a strong foundation the children remember;
connecting our history with hopeful future.

Lilly shines belief, the same one I left behind
when I grew from child to woman. She shares
that shine with me and once again I fall in love.
Baby Rose follows Lilly in everything, taking
her cue on what we do from her older sister.

Mom and I help the children leave milk
and cookies for Mr. Claus and a carrot
for Rudolph. When the children go to bed
and are fast asleep we nibble and drink...
pile presents under tinseled boughs.

Our celebration is for the children,
if you're good and very lucky, you'll have
some joyful sprites of your own to help
you recall the golden shine of Christmas.

Merry Christmas everyone

I pray your day will be happy
I pray that no one is alone.
I pray you'll be with friends and family
or at least talk with them on the phone.

I pray your new year will be brighter.
I pray true love comes your way.
I pray bad memories are forgotten
and God walks with you everyday.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE

St Nick's Soot

For the children of course smiles delivered wrapped in bow. Belly of laughter an countdown in Tow. Kindness an love upon kindred smiled face. His spirit exude's peace love an gesture to all a life. Token gifts abound, paralled with true understood meaning we all know. In his eyes are whats really wanted in place, unity non-conformity hand in hand three sixty four plus his one day.

4 days before Christmas

It's four days before Christmas
and all through the land
singles are surfing
as fast as they can.

Being alone on Christmas
is not a good thing.
Because when you're lonely
Christmas bells just don't ring.

So I wish everyone
a Christmas of cheer,
peace, hope and love
and a Happy New Year.

Yuletide Carols

Harvest done,
And frost is here
The snow is falling,
Falling heavy,
White comfort
Windy, cold,
Wood in a barrow,
Fire burning,
Winter carol,
Blizzard blowing,
Blowing hard
Winter wailing,
Music in the eves,
Yuletide carols,
Mistletoe and wreathes,
Proserpine is in decline,
Hades is her home,
Leaving snow and
Sol Invictus,
Seasons stirring
In a wintry bowl,
Yuletide carols
Whispers of antiquity
Birthing spring,
The dove on wing
Songs of hope in
An icy clime,
Seasons turning,
Turning on a dime,
Time is fleeting,
Fleeing, seeking,
Eternity of mind.

Children of the Not Very Merry

Christmas comes on jingle-bell feet
tinkling all over my morning paper;
but middle-class wolves howl
at my door, lurking and raping my mood.

In a outraged of head-shake denial
and of wondering;
why do I have to think of that now?

When, I've got to get to Big Lots
finish all my x-mas shopping
and arrange a babysitter
for the party tonight.

When, I've got cabin fever
and a howl rising in me!

When, I want to be pretty arm candy
and hold mistletoe kissing contests,
don't burn me now Santa.

The list goes on and on....

until I finally realize;
I need to be more grateful
for my haves, instead of pissed off
about what I haven't got.

If greed is need, then I'm
in pretty sorry shape no
matter the seasons reasons.

Rock-a-by, child of God, rock-a-by.

Do you care?

What A Day

What A Day

It all started when I woke up this morning
There was a cat in my bed
What’s that I said?
A cat named Fred
Was in my bed.
Then the cat named Fred
Hopped out of my bed
And chased a rat
And sat on the mat
And that’s that

I SAW A LITTLE butterfly

I saw a little butterfly
And he was ever so high
Up in the sky.
Then I saw a bunny rabbit
And I tried to grab it.
Then I saw a frog
Sitting on a log
I gave it a poke
And it gave a croak.

HALLOWEEN IS HERE NEXT WEEK

Halloween is coming
Yippee Yippee
And its only one week away
Hooray Hooray
And ghosts will give you a scare
Wooooooo Wooooooo
Witches will be on their brooms
Ha Ha Ha Ha
Skeletons will rattle their bones
Rattle Rattle Rattle
All of the doors creaked closed
Creeeeeek Creeeeeek

CHRISTMAS

As Christmas time comes once again
we think of family and recall old friends.

Our thoughts turn to feasting and presents to give
of time spent rejoycing and the good life we live.

But not of the person who is cold and alone.
Who now has no family or a place to call home.

Who is thankful to find a warm place to sleep.
And in one small pack all their possessions can keep.

Who while we are singing, toasting all near and far
lay shivering in alleys or perhaps an old car.

Men, Women and Children are all in this plight,
who dread each new day and fear each new night.

While God and His Angels look down from above.
Wondering what happened to His gift of LOVE.

About this poem:
I work with homeless people every single day. Sometimes there are success stories,, sometimes your heart gets torn out, but through it all are the children, battered women who have no out and those who genuinely just need a break. Please don't forget them.
