Leprechaun Editorial

I know what you want
You want my gold coins
My little darlings!
The 100 gold coins I have in my pot
Well, you can't have any of them!
If you steal one of my coins you can make a wish
Any wish you want will be granted
Except for one
A Leprechaun's charm can do him no harm
If you want to destroy me you have to destroy my gold
But I know you are too greedy to do the right thing
That will be your doom!
Another thing that can protect you if you decide to steal me gold
A four leaf clover
Good luck finding one
Only one exists for every 10,000 clover
Stay away from the end of a rainbow and my gold
That's my opinion
What do you think?

About this poem:
I based this on the Leprechaun movies. Leprechaun 3 is my favorite. He goes to Las Vegas. He has some funny quotes. "This town is full of riches, I'll rip them off, those nasty sons-a-b#$%@es!"

Caribbean love

Roosters crowing
Moonshine glowing
Warm winds blowing,
Blue sky's singing
Sunshine gleaming
Rivers streaming
Raindrops trinkling
Ocean's mesmerizing
Fruits bearing,
Fresh vegetation
Great meditation
reggae playing
Soca swaying
Sweet sounds all around
Jerk chicken
Fried fish,
deliciousness fills the air
love is the atmosphere
Simple living
Smiles always giving
No worries or cares
Just love being there!!!!

Good Presidents

How many presidents have been truely good?
I say only three
John Kennedy Teddy Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln
Kennedy took us to the moon
Kennedy tried to get rid of the Federal Reserve
He got shot by people in government who didn't want him to do that
Teddy Roosevelt also tried to control corrupt rich men
Teddy established the first national park
Yellowstone National Park
He refused to shoot a bear that was tied to a tree
He felt is was unsportsman to shoot a defenseless bear
The teddy bear is named after him because of his honor
Lincoln freed the slaves
Lincoln kept our country together
Lincoln refused to allow revenge against the south
So our country could be united
So which was the worst?
Take your pic
There's plenty to choose from
Obama, Bush Sr and Jr
Clinton, Reagan and Carter
Oh My!

About this poem:
Today is President's Day. Just think about some of the presidents and what some have done for good. Even the really bad ones did some good. Bush Jr. gave some money for AIDS for Africa.

Be not what you say I am....

Cold, alone, and confused-what is it I should do?
Money comes, money is closed;
Spinning around until I feel the ground,
where is it that you want me to go?

where is it I SHOULD STAY? How can I make your disease go away?

Mind blowing, I can't stop thinking that I know what your medication claims it will take care of,
what pain, what suffering, how much can i listen to the fake of unknowing what really lies in that mind of yours?? besides that, why should I profess my resurrection, my undestruction of this situation!

I feel not for you, I care not for it, I don't care where it goes from here.....as you lie dying in death and despair from your deceit; those lies, they ate you----dead.

Reasons to Root for The Ravens

Reasons to Root for the Ravens

1. The are the only team that is based on a poem by Edgar Allen Poe

2. They are from Baltimore

3. They didn't beat the Packers and stop them from going to the
Super Bowl

4. They have a cool color: Purple

5. They beat the Patriots so we don't have to be bored to death with
another showing by a team I could care less about.

6. They only have one super bowl ring. The 49ers have five, so they
have enough.

7. The 49ers are based on a bunch of smelly prospectors who spent
most of their gold on prostitutes, gambling, and whiskey.

8. The 49ers are from San Franscisco, nuf said!

About this poem:
Just having some fun with the Super Bowl. My favorite is a tie between the Bears 1986 win and the Packers 2011 win. I still have the Super Bowl Shuffle record and my friend who works for the Packers still has the 2011 Superbowl ring with 92 diamonds.

Santa Scale is Coming to Town

You better watch out
You better not cheat
You better not pig out
I'm telling you why
Santa Scale is coming to town
Santa Scale is coming to town
Santa Scale is coming to town
He's making a list
He's checking it twice
He's gonna find out whose fat or fit
Santa Scale is coming to town
Santa Scale is coming to town
Santa Scale is coming to town
He sees you when you're sleeping
He knows when you're awake
He knows if you've eaten fruit or cake
So you better be good for goodness sake

About this poem:
The New Year is approaching, and with it all the diets will start again. I saw diet ads during the Christmas season. How low can you get? Making people feel guilty during the holidays. Happy New Year Everybody!

Taking down the Christmas Tree

I took down the outside ligts
I put the manger scene away
I took the Christmas cartoons off my fridge
I put away my collection of Christmas Coke cans
I put my angels and Christmas towels away
I took the garland off the tree
I took the ornaments off the tree
I accidentally broke one that was about 50 years old
I dropped one but the craft string protected the ornament
I took off the star
I took off the lights
I dismantled the artificial tree
I had my Christmas decorations up for 50 days
I miss them, but it was time
I had to get read for the superbowl

About this poem:
I normally put my Christmas decorations away the first Saturday after the New Year. I will not be decorating again until September 15 when I celebrate Halloween again. There are many who keep theirs up till after the super bowl, some leave them up a lot longer. They are usually the same ones who have rotten pumpkins on their porch in December.

Christmas alone

Many may spend this season
longing for the laughter and
communion of family and
friends
Many may pour through photo
albums recalling happier times
or wishing their mate or fantasy
lover would be sharing a cup of
hot chocolate in front of a crackling
fire
But even more may find themselves
gazing at those same old walls and
taking that familiar walk accross that
cold lonely bridge
We may feel we have lost lifes best
and the torturous long hellish years
haven't amounted to much and there's
not much left to do but feed the animals
and go to bed
But there is no loneliness for the true
lover of life
Only the wicked are truly alone for they
have no qualities or character to recomend
them to the land of the living
But the love for others breeds a glowing
joy deep within that finds a thousand
possibilities in every breath of life
It is always christmas for those who
love
Silver bells are the song of the soul
Imagination is a sleigh ride into an
exploding galaxy
Never mind that others can't see it..
It is a gift from heaven to you.
We shall dance on the rings of Saturn
Santa's got a brand new bag****

Holiday Poem 2012

Holiday Poem 2012
By: Jay Hershorn

Let’s all reflect upon the year which quickly passed us by,
The holidays have finished now, and New Year’s Eve is nigh.
The weather that we’re facing now is frigid, yes it’s true,
So please warm up, enjoy this poem, passed on from me to you.
In just a week we’re back again with family and our friends,
To celebrate the coming year that’s just around the bend.
And when the ball is sliding down, you count down till it drops,
They say that time’s a riverbed, it never really stops.
Reflect upon the story of your life from this past year,
And you will find that there are things we all should hold quite dear.
For instance we should all be glad to be in such good health,
Or maybe there are people who’ve acquired newfound wealth.
I think the best is happiness, which everybody needs,
To have a smile on your face, it makes you feel so free.
A mix of ups and downs I think, is something we’ve all had,
But in the end we proudly say “it really ain’t so bad!”
So let’s make resolutions for the year that’s due to come,
It’s great to make a list of them, we all can think of some!
And on the night of New Year’s Eve with champagne in your glass,
The troubles that you may have had will surely come to pass.
As midnight chimes with cheers abound I’ll jubilantly say,
“This year will bring fortune, but I’ll take it day by day.”

I hope everyone had a great holiday and is looking forward to a new year full of endless possibilities. As the famous Scottish song states “For Auld Lang Syne”: as we look forward to our future, don’t forget to enjoy your memories of the past for old times’ sake. Happy New Year everyone!
