Transparency in Disguise

Secrets that were not secrets
Lessons that were not learned
Just how fallible are my thoughts
Deliberately distorting into knots

Secrets that were not secrets
Lessons that were not learned
Such is life but all is existential
Much an extravagant depiction

Secrets that were not secrets
Lessons that were not learned
That describes inevitable fiction
Shadows casting dubious doubts

Secrets that were not secrets
Lessons that were not learned
Where all truth becomes evitable
Posturing between all it flouts

Reagan

Watching Reagan on YouTube
chat show
smoother than I remember
folksy, late seventies
having just come out of Governor of California
he looked good
didn't look like he was pitching for the White House
but '81 was coming..

Launch of neo-liberalism
which is precisely why you don't have a job
or if you do it doesn't pay
how's that possible
from a former lifeguard?

I only remember the the assassination attempt
then the mental deterioration
I guess we should be grateful things went well
with Gorby
better than the current NATO encirclement of Russia
taunting the bear.

Masks?

I'm less than a week away from getting my second shot
Then it's two weeks to get away from being hot
From these masks that make you breathe in your own carbon dioxide
It is not worth trying to hide
I will not miss these blue masks
I have enough to do to make up my tasks
Just sifting through the endless crap that people spew out
It makes me want to scream and shout
What about other things that should have my attention
Wasting my time on germ retention
There are real things to be enjoyed that I am missing
Like love and joy and lots of kissing
So I wait in anticipation
For this hoax brought on by our nation
What will they think up next?
To try to get people from having sex

About this poem:
We got the word that starting in June there will be no masks required at work if you have your covid shots and have two weeks after, then they put a sticker on your badge. Those who are afraid of the shots have to keep wearing those darn masks.

In a Field of Dreams

In a field of full of our dreams
We may always look over our shoulders
And wonder how often our schemes
Become as hard to move as boulders

If only to gain some better discretion
Could ever have helped us make
We’d still dispute which direction
No matter which path we’d take

Things left unsaid are unclear
From even our best intention
Having no fear to say what is dear
Is leaving no seeds for contention

Why are we so completely insensitive
When our strongest desires are known
When we struggle in our own defenses
Looking for our shadows to be shown

Who are we mere mortals all the same
Never even a fairy to chase away
Who else do we have to blame
Just being who we are everyday

Why

Why...?
Why am I going to go to a place everyday...?
Smiling and acting like I want to be there...?
Because that is what is expected of me?
A cog?, A wheel in the machine?
I'll make this b*tch spin.
For what...?
So I can help the rich get further ahead...?
Others who don't give a damn about me personally?
Wouldn't sit across the table from me and break bread?
Silver Spoon Mother f**kers who are already well off ?
Really...?
Tell me why should I sweat for you?
Why should I help you to my detriment?
How is it that I became your slave?
Tell me again why I need you.
A virus..., Plague..., Nasty sickness.
Sucking my f*cking life away.
Never again...Never...,
I will die first...

REALITY/FACTS

"People can't handle the truth" FACT ONE
the following and more weigh on me a ton

These words won't set well with many of you
because you disagree doesn't make them less true
Many laws of this land are at best a cruel joke
most always only relevant to the less fortunate folk

"The Great Satan" many proclaim America to be
theirs valid evidence making it impossible to disagree
The wealthy make their own rules to assure they go free
fact is Government doesn't give a damn about you or me

Americas' guilty of as much evil as any other government
fallacious leaders who dismiss real Americans sentiment
Govt' decided our country should be the melting pot of Earth
no regard for "We The People" further proving our true worth

Govt' fantasized unity was possible in an overly diverse population
that ignorance is reason ONE behind the demise of this nation
Govt' turned a once great land into everything but a United State
a tragedy conducive to perpetual resentment and inextricable hate

They won't tolerate anyone uttering truths that aren't theirs
free speech if your not inquisitive of their illicit affairs
They inform us about what they want no more no less
covering up their iniquities with lies rather than confess

Learn to accept that these words are indubitably reality
believing politicians care reflects a clueless mentality

TRUE OR FALSE??

Some feel they're indubitably a societal plague
reduced 'freedom of speech' to speaking vague
America owes us nonsense they shamelessly tout
guilt vice stifles rebutting claims whined about

Reactions depict uncivilized while resistant to reason
criminal mannerisms I'd argue akin to treason
Republics history they've had success at rearranging
constantly stirring the pot negates antipathy changing

Their negative impact the blind can see
when confronted with absolute truth they flee
Giving them everything wouldn't be nearly enough
CAN'T appease those convinced they're owed stuff

It's racism "TELLING IT LIKE IT IS"
most slavery advocates missed the FACTS quiz
If Americas' so unjust evacuate her land
feckless politicians forced guilt bow to demand

hell bent on assuring unrest continues everyday
what I witness I must unapologetically convey

COUNTING COINS

They like to think themselves as heroes.
They are the Self-Serving type.
They like making war on ev-ery-one, and count-ing coins at night. They contemplate new battles
for what they claim is right
But when they start daydreaming,
minds turn to counting coins all night.

Sometimes when I look at them and see into their eye,
tis war they think, make-ing life worthwhile.
Thier lips curve up, they just can't disguise,
they think of counting gold-coins, with-a-smile,
But tis so hard for them to know
which tis that they love more?
Counting coins by candle light?
Or being busy making war?

They use words like honour and glory
When they talk about their wars
They like to talk, about vic-tory and gain
But when they stop their talking, in the silence of thier own heads,
they go straight back,
to count-ing gold coins ag-ain.

Sometimes when I look at them and see into their eyes,
tis war they think, make-ing life worthwhile.
I see their lips curve, and they just can't disguise,
they think of gold-coins, with-a-smile,

But tis so hard for them to know
which tis that they love more?
Counting coins by candle light?
Or being busy making war?

It is The rich, the powerful
They like to think of as their friends
but they are just the bankers
in a war that never ends
They're not too fond of Peace
A ceasefire's what they hate
they love the thought of fighting wars
think-ing Oh, the mon-ey they shall make

Sometimes when I look at them and see into their eyes,
tis war they think, make-ing life worthwhile.
I see their lips curve, and they just can't disguise,
they think of gold-coins, with-a-smile,

But tis so hard for them to know
which tis that they love more?
Counting coins by candle light?
Or being busy making war?

Fans?

I saw the Cubs playing baseball against the Pirates
No fans were present
The Cubs are one of the most popular teams with good attendance in 2019
Good attendance all the other years too
I went there in 2000 to see Sammy Sosa play
It is surrounded by houses
It has a nice family feel to it
With the ivy just coming in when I went there in May
Now it looks like all sports are going to be fanless
The Packers are playing next week in Minneapolis against the Vikings
There is no decision as of yet, but likely will have no fans
No horns, no purple, no beer, no hotdogs, and no cheering
I went to 11 games at Green Bay since 2006
It is an experience
It is fun
And it will be sadly missed by many who enjoy sports
Weather it's baseball or football

Joe Biden Parody Speech

Once again the Democratic committee hand picked who they wanted
The people wanted Bernie Sanders
Instead the people got me
I think I'm better than Hillary Clinton
And thankfully the economy is in the crapper
So I'll have a better chance this time around
As far as my accomplishments
Umm....
I did help a child who stutters just like I used to
That's something, right?
So vote for me America
Or you'll have another four years of making fun of the orange man
Donald Trump!

I was listening to the Democratic National Convention this week. My favorite quote was "While Rome burned, Nero fiddled, and while America burned, Trump played golf."
