The Falcon

My Spirit floats in the ether
It follows the falcon’s drift
She rides the thermals beneath her
They cushion her wings as she lifts

Ah! Would that my body could soar
Be light as the air, as is she
In perspective my views as I tour
Perhaps, somehow, look down on me

She lends me her wings for a space
Can she know that my soul flies with her?
Does she ever look down on my face?
Will the rapture expressed there transfer?

Of course I know this is fancy
That she would never think thus
Her mission to feed her young family
Their frail lives placed in her trust

Yet, I can’t help the feeling
As she ever swoops through the air
That while she is sweeping and weaving
We are somehow entwined up there

About this poem:
A beautiful Brown Buzzard {Ghastly name for a lovely creature} Hunts around my house every evening and I sit and watch her with a glass of wine, On the Terrasse as the sun sets.

This is for her but I have used falcon as Brown Buzzard is not very poetic, is it?

first posting-The Tree

For you my friend T
THE TREE
I look out the door and see the tree
who was once all bare and it reminds me of me!
You made me see that I have alot to give,
And made me want to live.
You helped me see that I am worthwhile
And that I can do whatever it takes to go that extra mile.
You helped to pick me up when I was feeling blue,
And that whatever I wished for could and would come true.
When I felt lost and lonely as could be,
You reminded me that I was no longer that bare tree.
I've grown and my branches have spread
I'm no longer empty or dead.
I'm roaring and kicking and happy as can be
Cause now I am like that tree that I now see
Full of life, and giving comfort and peace
And most of all tranquility.

Thank you my dear friend for helping me to grow.

The Lion Hunts Tonight!

A hush falls accross
the plain..

For tonight..

He
Hunts..

The moon peeks through
an errie fog that
creeps
like
Deaths Breath..

All the inhabitants
of the plain strain
eye and ear

because..

They know..

He is!

His massive cave rises
above the plain

A jagged sentinel
of rock

A ghostly shape emerging,
then fading in the
gastly mist..

A pale moonlight reveals
a hulk of a shape at
the entrance of the
cave..

It is..

The

Beast!

He sniffs
the air..

His eyes are locked
onto an opening
beyound the brush..

His ears cocked
with interest..

Deep quiet..

A twig has
snapped..

Chaos..

The inhabitants are
set to terror!

Then..

Muscle..

Bone..

And
Claw..

Lunges with might
and power..

Dust explodes under
the weight of fang,
and crushing force..

A last shrill cry
shatters the night,
as prey hang limp

in the Jaws..

of..

The Lion!

"Spinning"

The delicate web above my bedroom door
Sways everytime,with a soft wind
Even a slight blow of my breath can make it dance
Every strand a glittery line
Sparkling,twinkling

An endless strand hooked on my mirror stand
A cascade of a beautiful dream
Sweeps a bountiful of angels hair
Shining ever so softly,reflecting its
tangling essence

I imagine myself spinning,a web just like it
Around and around, until I am dizzy
Smiling as I spin, laughing, wrapped in cottony rope
Spinning to my hearts content
Letting it lead me

Its wonderful flowing texture around my body
Tickling my thoughts and fears
Very forgiving,as it passes through my fingers
It threads my very soul

Every seam of its adoring pattern
Connecting end to end like a neverending chain
The crystal glitter embedded in my hair
How lovely it feels,as i jump and leap to make it grow

Little steps,so not to damamge its glory
Quickly expanding its view
Before the morning light is shown
Every flicker of light,a masterpiece of tapestry

In its finality,perfection,oh so rich
Shapeful,from end to end
I feel but spiritual bliss
My work is done,so timeless
Until tomorrow,sealed with a kiss

A Wave of Tears.

We stare in silent disbelief.
With surrendered emotions we weep.
For once again Mother Nature stirred.
And a wave of tears rose from her oceans deep.
Washing away generations, young and old.
Whole families swept away.
Out to sea from whence they came.
Took that wave of tears on that fateful day.
Why has He forsaken us? We do not understand.
To unite us all maybe an answer!!
All religions, colours walk now hand in hand.
Forget our differences, suspicions and hates
Resolve all our worries and fears.
Let us never forget the day our lives changed
Changed by that wave of tears.

Spring On The Wolds

Embedded image from another site

A long and lonely walk along the Wolds
To see the spring as it unfolds
Rolling meadows that now are green
With spots of colour to be seen

As daffodils poke through the ground
Perhaps to take a look around
The bluebells cluster all together
As if to seek protection from the weather

I notice the wind and the path it takes
As patterns in the grass it makes
New blossom on the trees like dust
Falls like snow with each fresh gust

Faint sound are carried on the breeze
Of singing birds and rustling trees
And as I reach the bottom of the dell
A babbling brook with tales to tell

Having seen the beauty of this place
Lonely feelings I now replace
In the company of nature at her best
I can’t help feeling, I’m just a guest

Lazy Summer Days

Lazy summer days
Oh.. what bliss
Those of my childhood
I surely do miss

Laughing with friends
Playing baseball until dark
Climbing trees and scuffed knees
From the rough, scratchy bark

Swimming in the creek
Fishing in the pond
Laying down, watching the clouds
Wondering what was beyond...

Thinking of the future
Dreading the new school year
But excitement grew
As that day drew near

Saying goodbye to summer
With a lonely tear
The days of youthful abandon
and the friends I hold so dear

For Elo ~~Blue Moon~~

once in a blue moon
you will find a friend so rare
very special and compassionate
no other can compare

one who makes you smile
sending a poem at just the right time
who is adored to the moon and back
someone so sublime

She Dances Like a Flower

She danced and wouldn't stop
Like a breeze keeps on blowing
A flower flutters like a heartbeat
She moved like a whirling top
Her feet just keeps on flowing
A native in cadance with a drumbeat
She lifted her soul to be caught
by the sunset soft and on glowing
A sacred dance never to complete
