Autumn Breath

I wander down the forest trails
the farmer collecting the last bales
golden brown they shine in the sun
the whirr of wings as birds escape the guns

The various gleaming colours of leaves
as spiraling down they twist and turn
the fields stripped of their crops
now lay farrow until next spring

Some light snow at foot of trees sparkles
pristine and lovely against the Autumn browns
sullen yet glowing the grey skies attract me
as I stroll on down to the bubbling brook

Flashes of brilliance as the kingfisher passes
he hovers above a post then alights to fish
a silver shadow comes in sight, he watches
then in a blur he dives and catches a fish

Now all that's left behind are ripples
spreading out in perfect cylindrical rings
watching them fade away as the water stills
becoming once more a mirror reflecting the azure skies

A massive pile of logs with scarlet toadstools scattered
the croak of a spotted frog as he takes a dive
yellow hammer is drilling away in the canopy
where verdant greens mix with red cedar leaves

The wonders awaiting at each step quite take my breath
a sly red fox disappearing through the emerald grasses
a roar and a crash of antlers as the fallow deer stags fight
their white spots shining as they spar back and forth

All this and birds singing with the pure joy of living
the rustles that abound all around me as I listen
the glorious golds, reds and browns surround me
as I stand in a clearing drinking all the beauty in

Free Flight

On Kevlar lines, a whole life suspended
Buckled into harness now
Feeling almost comfortable
Gliders inflate... shooting up into the sky
Like a kite without ties
Catching thermal pockets riding high
Like a bird, soaring upwards
Above awesome coastal ridges
Spectacular sceneries down below
Peaceful and serene
Enjoyed only by a few!

Beware the Woman Cook!

Beware the Woman Cook!

Like the spider in the sky,

She weaves her culinary web to catch
men, like you and I

Tis a honeycomb spun web
made to Trap & Wed her ever loving guy!

Her food is succulent, you’ll never get away!

She says try a bit, a nibble
and she will get you, there to stay!

Then the story of Adam & Eve repeats,
she says, what do you have to lose,
just have a little bite!

I warned you before, but you didn’t listen
you had better take to flight!

Then she tantalizes your very nose

With oven heaven scented aromas,
that tickles ones very toes!

When the delicious meal is through

She feeds you cake, strudel and apple pie,
it’s like an animal feeding zoo!

Now that she has fed you and you are so content

She takes you to her bed,
and now your living in her tent!

I wonder if she has any left-overs?
It’s snack time!

Start the New Year right …
get yourself a good woman cook!

Lol

Path of the Wind

Clouds are blown by the wind unseen
Trees feel its caress of her leaves
Whistling through on a summer day
Creating a soft cool breeze

Watch her play on this earthly ball
As she covers the sea and land
Oceans deep feel her presence there
As she sweeps with a mighty hand

Blow big wind send the sailboat home
Fill the sails with breath from above
Though the wind can be often stormy
on a sea once still like a dove

Blow wind blow all around the world
Places I have never seen
As you pass over me I just wonder
Where in this world have you been

Whisper into my world
Tell me what you have seen
So I can fly on the eagle's wing
To places where you have been.

Natures Best

A snow man falling
one flake at a time
A rain drop falling
in a melted pool of ice
Sun rays beaming on
the white grass
A frozen river
drifting down stream
A green leaf turning
golden brown
drifting to the ground.
A cool sunday morning
turns into a hot monday evening.
The dancing boats in a bay
with the ocean waves.
the cut grass once
stood tall
blowing in the wind
a gentle breeze.
stop and listen
nature is at it's best.

Small spindly pear tree
overwhelmed with lovely fruit
strong enough to bend

About this poem:
IF YOU GO AND CLICK ON POST A COMMENT the whole tree shows up its awesome.. My little pear tree..

I was just mowing my grass.( 3 acres) I notices my little pear tree. its only 4 feet tall 4 inches at the base 2 lonely branches coming off the base and little twigs coming off that the the branches are like 2 inches around at the most.. I almost cut it down a few years back because i was sure it was dead.. I just didn't have the heart.. It is so loaded with pears at least 50 that is bent completely over touching the ground..

I have been so overwhelmed with my own grief and locked inside my depression I never noticed or I would have found a wedge for the 2 lonely branches..

Nature never ceases to amaze me.

Rainbow

---- IMAGE REMOVED because photobucket.com no longer allows embedded images ----
A beautiful skyline on top of the trees,
Whispering winds begin shaking the leaves.
Swallowing sunlight as the clouds move in streams,
Expressions of grays, some blues, and some pink.
Flowers wildly dancing their petals uncurl,
Awaiting the Heavens to replenish the earth.
A bird soaring high gliding on thermal air,
Swoops into hiding from a thunderous scare.
The echoing faints than is followed by lights,
Narrow and jagged dividing the sky.
The first drops of rain fall to the ground,
Forming a mist and a rythym of sounds.
Faster and faster until the landscape is wet,
It stayed for awhile and has already left.
This cleansing brings hope as a lizard drinks from a rose,
And a promise by God sealed with a Rainbow.

Spring

Once again spring is on her way
gone are the icy fingers of winter.
Birds are busy building their nests
buds on the trees ready to bloom.

Long days beckon the sleepy sun
to spread her warmth to the lands.
Eagerly plants spring back to life
bees and butterflies flit around.

At last there is colour once again
gone the drab grey of winter.
My heart lightens with such joy
singing along with earth's beat.

Everywhere I walk on these hills
I see signs of life springing up anew
The moors full of lambs bleating
and skipping with heartfelt delight.

three cheers for the blues

two dogs had I
I have to say
called one Hipp Hipp
called one Hooray

Hipp Hipp a husky
fearsome, true
Hooray a spikey
Kerry Blue

and so I built
my cabin small
we hunted game
from Spring to Fall

time moving on
from then to this
both moving on
to canine bliss

Yet most nights
I often pray
for my dear friends
Hipp Hipp.. Hooray!

Hipp Hipp.. Hooray!
Hipp Hipp.. Hooray!
