Springtime has always been
my favorite time of year..
But somehow something seems
just a little different to me this year..
The air smells a little sweeter,
And the grass looks just a little greener..
The sun is shining a little brighter..
The sky is a bit bluer
and the clouds even whiter.
The birds seem to be singing
more sweetly in the trees,
The wind chimes seem to play
a happy tune as they sway gently in the breeze,
People everywhere walking hand in hand
Smiling brightly at everyone they see,
Is there something sweeter about Spring this year..
Or is it just me?

Speckled white air with purity laid ground release of the sky drifts all abound, fields of blown dunes white laden bows, twinkled sunlight reflected a flake at a time, horizontal ride in the wind where they hide from the ground till they fall, light white stroke tipped trees bear no leaves jus mound snow pristine in sight, natures tracks in the snow cross the field to the trees winters close by . . a new season to be~

a billion an one times that again as I walked the beach the shapes of stones under my feet, a drizzled rain the whole time came. . yet it didn't as the waves slapped the shore an the water it crested into white cap's roll, fossils an quartz with infinitive hue a wave caught my foot an found my dry sock, thirty minutes of this today. . . . . then, back to work:)

I felt a poem in me
Growing like a tree
Wild and free
At the very edge
Where words emerge
To the croon
Of a gentle tune
Despite the winter cold
And crazy world
With swaying
Branches of words
And singing birds
Rehearsing my song
All day long

About this poem:
I just heard this in the morning and wrote it down

I’m just sitting here
Waiting for the tide
Knocked off early
No place I’d rather hide
There’s a howling easterly
Whitecaps everywhere
But it’s very soothing
So I thought I’d share
I’m perched on driftwood
Ten feet long
Surrounded by a forest
That doesn’t belong
Coal ships sit
Thirty miles out
All in a line
Waiting for a shout
There’s people riding
And walking along
The harbour wall
It attracts a throng
The sea is
A deep blue green
And far too the south
The coal terminal can be seen
Kite surfers enjoy
All that they can
Billowing coloured sails
All part of the plan
There’s a race happening
Along the beach
As the dad chases
Kids out of reach
Lifesavers are packing up
It’s time call it a day
As the ink just falls
From my pen today
I’ll just sit
For a little longer
Enjoy what’s left
To make me stronger
Drink this beautiful
Part of the world in
To soothe the soul
And polish my grin .......

birds merrily sing
the woodlands teeming with sound
healing nature calls
~~~~~~
trickling mountain streams
the roar of huge waterfalls
both beautiful sounds
~~~~~~
morning sunrise dawns
night time surrenders slowly
behold the new day

Frustration while we wait the seasonal change
From winter bleak to a spring sunnier range
Maybe we're fed up, of dressing for the rain
Or wind and chill, and hair we need to tame
At least in northern New Zealand, never snow
Though feeling cold, with cheeks more a glow
Not from humidity and sunshine, buffered wind
Blue not rosy, body and bones feel tinged
Four seasons, can be mixed into one day
Take off and add layers, keep colds at bay
Dreaming of the sunshine, know it's real
When happily extra clothes, you can peel
The grass is always greener, we know its true
Wanting what we can't have, does see us through
Till the season we love, shakes our senses alive
Dare we moan about it later, humidity over rides
Impatience, I admit I want the season to rush
Spring seems so slow, and still rain will gush
But days get longer, and earth starts to wake
Grateful for every sunny day, as summer breaks.....

~~~~~
a bird sang sweetly
despite the city chaos
nature will survive
~~~~~
a single raindrop
disturbed the glistening pond
then reflections danced
~~~~~
a sudden shower
the adults ran for shelter
children love puddles
