Hush

Sun rising, very slowly
Through the mountain notch
Where mist hangs over
Yellow birches watch
‘Till long autumn nights
Chill the air
Their leaves will fall

Looking up, flocks of geese
Sounded through the valley
Shattering the peace
An urgency for beating
All their wings
Fly in V-formation
Then be gone

Falling apples, make a bruise
Soft rotting smells
Attract the bees
For miles around
With much expertise
Suck in their mouths
The sweet juicy ooze

Shrieking loudly, on a twig
The startled blue jay
Dance a jig and flirt
Feet tightly frizz
Banner ‘blue and grey’
Sounding the alarm
Intruder alert!

Waterfalls, running over
The slippery ledge
Granite covered green
With carpets of moss
Growing down the ledge
Under canopy of
Glowing colored leaves

Winter, coming early
Long shadows grow
Birches are now bare
Before the first snow
Enters hurly-burly
Whispers its wind
A final, ‘Hush’

Exmoor Stream (for fellsman)

I climbed to find your source
up the slippery slopes of shale
getting prickled by the gorse
I looked back over the dale

following your trickle down
as you widen and flow
far below I see a town
your waters now grow

the trickle now a stream
waters gush over the rocks
becoming now a scream
as you pass the gamecocks

ever widening as you go
dancing as down you bounce
a rabbit peeks out of its burrow
as you skip and flounce

onwards to the valley
there to join the river
slowing as you pass the abbey
where boats lay at anchor

crystal wish..........

redwood forest standing tall
a beauty of such i can't recall
piercing the sky majestically
catching clouds when they are free
light from yonder filters in
allows the essence to begin
an dance upon your very soul
a shuddering homage but not cold
spiritually a place to behold
your journey's here do unfold
hours you seek the nurturing peace
under limbs and leaves that do ease
aside the hamarama springs way
a magic place a magic day
toss the coin an let it fall
let your prayers live to recall
the wishes that reside in deep
the love you cherish and to keep.....

HEART OF THE FOREST

December 1, 2012

I seek this day, the heart of the forest,
with my purpose to heal my own heart there.
The place I whisper my cherished secrets,
and find myself bowing in humble prayer.

The place where comfort is all shades of green.
Where branches low, are great welcoming arms.
Wisdom whispers back from the aged trees,
as I free myself from all thought that harms.

Here I am safe; the heart of the woodland,
where the midday sun shares its warmth with me.
How sweet the song of a tiny sparrow,
swaying on the limb of a young pine tree.

Every mushroom to dot the forest floor,
is as peaceful a sight as the butterfly.
Wildflowers, squirrels and trout in the lake,
add to the calm as they coax me to sigh.

The hours drift by in my favorite place.
So do the clouds with their shape-shifting play.
The urgent matters that first brought me here;
like clouds, those troubles have drifted away!

meadow lake

---- IMAGE REMOVED because photobucket.com no longer allows embedded images ----

Lake in the meadow
wide and blue
surrounded by forest
hidden from view

holds such beauty
holds such calmness
soft waters
lap the shore

i love to see you
journey to meet you
you have something
compelling to me

don't know why
i love the water
be it blue
be it still

i am drawn
toward your prescence
maybe its more
than before

maybe its because
i know the one
who made it all
put you here

something in my heart
brings a melody
and a symphony
words come to me

i can write by you
i can sit by you
in the twilight
every time

you are mystery
you are watery
and in your way
touch me

meadow land
in your hand
you cradle
water clean

and i say
its always great
to find you
wrapped in green

heaven in water

---- IMAGE REMOVED because photobucket.com no longer allows embedded images ----

Clouds in the water
blue the reflection
come see the heavens
here on earth

clouds are bathing
sky is just swimming
touching earth
in a meadow green

soft is the grass
running barefoot
putting your feet
into the sky

let nature purify
clean your eyes
with distinctive view

let the moment
refresh your being
in the silence

Night and Day - Haiku

Light, dark, night and day,
When sun is down, stars hold sway,
Dawn again, we pray

Tremors

Ive come to this place today

Flew in on a beautiful day

My plane ride here was delved into a book
if not, with clammie hands

As most you may know
I'm never at peace
Till the big bird lands

On earthquake ground
creeping tremors

They lay silent, so the taxi driver said

At night alone down here
sudden movement!
I'll probably freak
and fear

My work of finance brings me here

To ease the minds
of many who fear

My fears do not equal
the pain of those

That live through the sheer
mighty force
That indeed arose

I pray to whom ever?
any god with love!

Now that's a lever

I will give all I can
for my fellowman

See you all soon

Love peace happiness

Sent with a kiss..

Touch of Nature

Run your fingers
through a rainbow
as beneath her arch
you stand

Walk beneath the
falling sunshine
though she is
so far away

Sit beside the
flowing river
filling you with
thoughts serene

Sleep under the
skies dark blanket
moonbeams touch
your sleepy head

All around
creation touches
silent as the
mists of time

"The Bursting Sun"

In the Twilights Gaze
Shifted unrelentless Wind
Dark Clouds of Red and gray
Lightning,crash,thunders rash
Above the restless sky

A sudden twist,an airy mist
Waves of rattling rocks
Howling whispers of angry thrash
Flashes of blinding light

Lines like stabbing swords
Hitting and banging the earth
Darkness all around
An evil grasp of a whirling tunnel
Doom in all its glory

Seemingly never to pass
Prayers against a foul mass
Sweeping everything of the ground
Twisting turning a sirens sound

Tearful dew falling past
White and dreadful boulders crash
Breaking windows,shattering glass
Oh,faithful trees,feeling every blow
Buckets of rain to make it flow

Quickly moving in the distance fury
Painful treasures left in dismay
Passful seem so dreary
Waiting for it to dissipate

Finally it is all over
Silence, and a chilled wind is left
Trampled and twisted wreckage is the mess
Then in all its beauty,a streak of light
Rays protruding through the clouds
The bursting of the sun
Heavens golden shroud
