my very sobering blog

some people look to God for inspiration. i look to one of God's gifts for inspiration. i watched a documentary on Dave Munstaine of Megadeth the other day. i was riveted by his story.

i had the pleasure to meet him in the '80's when my sister worked as his band's press manager at Capitol Records. my sister said he was equally impressed with me. a high compliment for sure.

This man struggles with monumental drug and alcohol addiction but has kicked it and is a responsible family man with a wife and 2 successful children. he has overcome throat cancer and is currently in remission.

This man as been to rehab 15 times and thanks be to God that he is clean, sober and a living icon.

i appreciate his struggles and respect his tenacity and strength. his health achievements soar even higher than his musical genius.

i have struggled with addiction for probably 20 years. i've been to rehab once, after ODing on pills and whiskey. spent 48 hours under suicide watch, a very unpleasant experience.

last night, while i went out for smokes, i entertained the idea of picking up a 15 pack of beer that i can finish in a day, but while i was driving to the gas station, i could see Dave's face. i thought about what he had been through and where he is now, and i drove straight home.

i've been clean a week. i know it's not much but i have pictures of Dave to remind me of how i can be. if i have the will. Dave helps me. no, he's not God but i think God has finally reached me, through Dave.

this blog isn't about attention seeking. it's a sliver of a reality some of us live and i'm talking about it.

here's one of my favorite songs

Profile Honesty

How honest should we be on our profiles?

Would it put people off, or would it simply attract the type we are really looking for, and who are looking for us?

Should physical disabilities/abnormalities be put out there?

What about mental issues, from mild depression to dipshit loco?

Some people have no problem with either mental or physical issues, some even are attracted to them.

Same with body size. Should we put our BMI (Body Mass Index) on our profile. Although not a perfect method of measurement, is it not better than 'average ' or 'curvy' which means different things to different people.

Again, lots of people like fat or skinny people, and it would save them time in guessing/searching.

If we are selfish; unfaithful; possessive; short-tempered; undependable; argumentative; lazy; only want casual sex, etc., is it not better to say it?

If you want a partner to support you financially, why not say it? Some people want others to be dependent on them. Match made in heaven.

How honest should we be? And how able would people be to accept that honesty?

Concerning the non existence of god

Lately, I have been commenting on some pretty rabid Right Wing Cristian blogs. This said, I find one of three things generally happen. They are:

1) The blogger locks the comments section, thus preventing any opposing points of view.

2) The blogger selectively deletes any counter arguments (comments) which do not suit their narrative (which is usually to preach, at any one, and any thing). This is particularly true, when the earstwhile Christian Blogger is losing an argument.

3) The blog mysteriously disappears. This happens, quite often, (as a final ploy), when the argument has been lost completely (from a logical debating perspective).

Let's have some Insightful Reasoned Debate, about this topic (if that is possible, here) ....professor

My First Impression Of CS Male Bloggers

I believe that first impression lasts. Just like most people, I base my first impression from what I see in a person's face . Some of that changed when I've come to know the person but for most, first impression lasts.

Here on Blogland, it's very difficult to base your impressions based on fake or very old photos and first few blogs. My opinions of other bloggers changed after reading their blogs and sharing fun banters with them for months and months

I'm sure our first impression of each other differ and just like mine, yours have changed too after spending long hours, months and years heregiggle

I'm trying not to offend anyone but for MALE BLOGGERS here are my first impressions...yay

( I APOLOGIZE TO THE LADIES AND TO THOSE I DIDN'T OFFEND, I WILL GET TO YOU SOON ENOUGH! XOXO )

The Chase

Courting, to use Cat’s phraseology, is usually a game of cat and mouse; the predator and the prey.
Not in a bad sense, but one usually does the chasing, and even in today’s modern world, that is usually the man.

So, how do you play the game? Cat has already told us his style, and it works for him. cats meow

Some people like the full-on romantic approach – flowers and flowery talk and whisperings of love from the outset;
others prefer a slower, softee softee approach.

Some like an ‘exclusive’ online relationship without ever having met, others don’t believe that online chatting is a relationship.

Some hate a particular approach, while others revel in it.

Whether we are the chaser or the ‘chasee’ (or both, at different times), we all know what we like and what works for us.

Or do we? confused

Maybe we can learn from how other people approach it idea

Who made god?

“Religion is an insult to human dignity. Without it you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things.
But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.”
