Here in New Jersey there's 23 cases and 1 death thus far. The leading NJ universities, Princeton & Rutgers, have both decided to offer online instructions and to cancel in person classes for the near future.
Both Philadelphia and Boston have canceled their St. Patrick's Day parades due to the threat of virus spreading in crowds. In California the Coachella music festival is canceled for the same reason.

The United States now has more than 1,000 people infected with coronavirus — but testing in the U.S. is still ramping up, meaning that number could continue to climb.
Meanwhile, the governor of New York has questioned the number of people who have been tested for the virus in the U.S.
“When they do the retrospective on this one, they are going to say, 'Why did it take the Unites States so long to bring up the testing capacity?'” Gov. Andrew Cuomo said on TODAY on Wednesday. On Tuesday, Cuomo announced that he was implementing a "containment area" around a one-mile radius in the city of New Rochelle, home to the largest cluster of coronavirus cases in the country.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have said that more than 8,500 specimens have been tested for the coronavirus across the U.S. Because multiple specimens are required from each individual, the number of actual patients who have been tested is likely far lower.

titled "When you are expected to pay for lunch or dinner on the first date offline. Online dating part 2" was created on the 30/1/2018 and was left in a draft form in order to be picked up and continued later on the subject of "Expectations" , subject of this blog today.

Chaos in Russia
Russia's President Vladimir Putin briefed his Belarusian counterpart on the situation in southern Russia as the private military company Wagner declared an armed rebellion against the country's leadership. The heads of state agreed on joint actions to prevent what many military experts were already calling a "coup" attempt. President of Belarus, having additionally specified the situation through his own channels, with the agreement with the President of Russia, held talks with the head of Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin.

I’m Leaving! I Quit! I’m Done Here!
I have been with CS for about a year and a half now and I have never seen so many people leaving as of late; almost as if it has become the latest fashion to leave. Luckily most of them are back within hours; at the most a few days.
And every time we have such a mass exodus I am a very worried man. At the rate of departure, CS might be forced to invite some banned members back; just to maintain a respectable member count and that won’t do.
Come on guys and dolls; make up your mind whether you want to be here or not. If you feel that you need an extended break then say so and take your break. If you want to quit CS altogether then say your good byes and go! Don’t make a funeral of it. You are undermining your own credibility by playing yo-yo. If you don’t like the site, don’t poison the others; let them form their own opinion.
On the other hand, if you don’t really want to leave and are just pissed off with somebody, just retire quietly, think about it for a day or two and come back when you feel better. You don’t sell your house because some guy, four houses down the road, is irritating you. No matter where you go, you will always get somebody to irritate you and undoubtedly you too will work on somebody’s tits. Stick around; this is a nice a place.
The “I’m leaving” theme must have been one of the most popular blog topics during the last month or three and it is getting hollow now. I’m sure we can find something better to blog about.
I’m sorry if my blog topic got some people all excited for nothing, but I’m not quite ready to leave. If and when I do, nobody will want me back. I shall burn all bridges behind me to make sure I don’t make a fool of myself.

Condemned man dies during execution, updated.
A news item today reports on a condemned man who had a heart attack when the "lethal" injection failed to work properly,
To my way of thinking this leaves us with several questions -
Should we be executing people in the first place?
Can we not in 2014 come up with a lethal injection that both works & is humane?
When can we expect to see the bastard that raped & murdered an 11 month old girl who was due to be executed two hours later put to death?

An Archaeological Discovery
A recent expedition in the holy land, archaeologists found the painting shown here below in a cave. Without bothering to date the painting properly, they photographed it and sealed the cave again. After a few months they called a press conference, with an enlargement of the cave photograph on display. The hall was filled to capacity.
"We have learned a lot about these people”, the professor started off pointing to the chicken. “These people bred poultry to feed them.”
When the applause ended he pointed to the donkey and said: “They also harnessed animals to help them.”
Plenty more applause before he pointed at the shovel and continued: “And they used tools to till the earth.”
Even more applause followed and he pointed to the fish and said: “These people also supplemented their diet with fish.”
The applause lasted even longer and he concluded: “This was a religious sect; probably Hebrew.”
The professor received a standing ovation for several minutes and when it ended somebody shouted from the back of the hall:” You are all fools!”
The hall went very quiet and an old man stood up in the back row. “Don’t you know,” he said with a strong Jewish accent, “Hebrew is read from right to left.”
“The painting reads: ‘Holy Mackerel! Dig the áss on that chick!’”
